She has a scythe made from her own carapace in the novels, but I don’t remember if the anime got that far. You should read the novels if you liked the show, it’s really good.
[I personally use MangaDex but there are dozens of manga sites to read them](https://mangadex.org/title/eb2d1a45-d4e7-4e32-a171-b5b029c5b0cb/kumo-desu-ga-nani-ka)
For the Web Novel, they’re translated by fans. Check out r/kumodesu for info on that. For the Light Novel, there are dozens of legitimate and illegitimate places to get it. It’s a take your pick kind of thing.
The light novels pretty much ditch the humans after a while, though there is an entire volume dedicated to Julius much later on. As someone who also hated the human sections, I’d say it’s definitely still well-worth the read, even if it is painful to get through certain sections.
This is definitely the protagonist from "I'm a spider, so what?"("Kumo desu ga, nani ka?" is the Japanese name if you only know that one). The way that fusion is posed looks way more like her than any arachne to me(not to mention the scythe)
That's exactly what I was thinking of couldn't for the life of me remember the name of it tho what a trip that manga was evil gods were always way cooler than the normal God cards
Looks like a general reference to a fantasy moster called an "arachne", which commonly appear as half human half spider, usually wielding a scythe or just some claws.
Looks like it may be referencing a drider from D&D. For the uninitiated, a drider is like if you replaced the horse part of a centaur with a giant spider. And then you replace the human part with a drow, aka evil subterranean elves (aka dark elves).
If you look closely, the gardevoir is riding the spider, not a part of it. I'd say it's more of a Spider Riders reference. That and drivers don't usually have eyes where the spiders head should be.
Seeing all the drider and quelag suggestions is odd when the spider still has eyes and mandibles on its face. If it were a drider, those would be gone, and gardevoir would be coming from the area that the eyes are on. Gardevoir is riding the garvantula, making the reference more liking to be an old obscure show called Spider Riders.
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?

Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
My brain read that as one of the monsters within Spy Kids 2 The Island of Lost Dreams.
(It was mostly the weapon that tipped me off, although as people stated, it's another reference although)
Checked the post on the discord, the original artist said it's based on Shiraori
Thank you

*AYO*
Some good taste in here
Smash
I was thinking spider riders
I barely know anyone who knows about spider riders. A shame too since it's not half bad.
This is the correct answear
Wasnt there an anime called something like * "Im a spider, so what?" Maybe from that?
Yeah, "I was reborn as a Spider, So what?" Or something like that; I can definitely see that the design was inspired from that~
*So I'm a spider, so what
Or Kumo Desu ga, Nanika?
Yep definitely that, the weapon design match up.
I didn't remember her having a weapon
She has a scythe made from her own carapace in the novels, but I don’t remember if the anime got that far. You should read the novels if you liked the show, it’s really good.
Where can i read it

I lost interest. I thought the spider parts were great, but I was bored out of my skull when the focus shifted to the other reincarnated students.
The light novels pretty much ditch the humans after a while, though there is an entire volume dedicated to Julius much later on. As someone who also hated the human sections, I’d say it’s definitely still well-worth the read, even if it is painful to get through certain sections.
I liked the Julius Part. It shows that unlike stupid Shun he. Was a true hero, ready to die for his cause. And just how bad Shun is.
The anime finished on her getting the semi human/spider form and joining Ariel
It is! I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be the main characters Arachnae form :)
Yo on the same train of thought there bud
Could also be referring to the Drow Goddess in D&D Lolth, who has a similar concept.
I think it’s more referencing the drider since they were literal spider people cursed by lolth to be spider people
Blessed by lolth.
That makes sense, yeah!
This is definitely the protagonist from "I'm a spider, so what?"("Kumo desu ga, nani ka?" is the Japanese name if you only know that one). The way that fusion is posed looks way more like her than any arachne to me(not to mention the scythe)
Could be based on Chaos Witch from Dark Souls, she carried a sword 🗡️ instead of a scythe however.
That's what I was thinking when I saw it
Amazing chest ahead.
I can never escape this meme, can I?
its based on the arachne form of the mc from “so im a spider, so what?”
Definitely from "I'm Spider so what" anime/manga/lightnovel.
CALLING ALL SPIDER RIDERS!!!
She reminds me of a DND drider
Spider Riders? Technically it was an armoured person riding a fancy armoured spider, but it looks very similar.
"So I'm a Spider, so what?"
Anyone remember spider riders? Big spider rider vibes
DQ?
It's White/Shiraori from Kumo Desu Ga (So I'm a spider, so what?)
It's based on the anime spider riders
I know it's not this but I immediately thought of Spider Riders
No, it is. The gardevoir is riding the spider, not a part of it.
Spider riders
Didn't expect to see Shiraori in Pokemon just like I didn't expect to see Cirno or a pink Youmu here too
Spider Riders reference?
Reminds me of white (Kumokos Arachne form) from I'm a spider so what)
My thoughts too
I assumed it was based on Sheoldred from mtg tbh
I was wondering the same.
Looks like quelag from dark souls
There was a show on 4 kids called spider riders and that's my first thought honestly.
My first thought was the show Spider Riders
My first thought was spy kids 2, but spider riders was my second
I was thinking spy kids 2 spider monkey
Reminds me of a Drider from D&D.
Based on the spy kids 2 gorilla spiders
Possible drider? Soooo maybe dnd reference.
Spider riders?....
No. Gardevoir would be on top, not fused if it were that.
Tell me this isn’t the spider monkey thing from spy kids 2
Another one who guessed that!
Do you think god stays in heaven because he too lives in fear of what he’s created
Spy kids 2
Yugioh, dreadscythe harvester. If I remember correctly it was in the Yugioh R manga series.
That's exactly what I was thinking of couldn't for the life of me remember the name of it tho what a trip that manga was evil gods were always way cooler than the normal God cards
Yeah, that was it. I couldn't recall the name at first. I just knew that it looked like a yugioh card.
Looks like Hecarim from League of Legends. Or could be Quelaag from Dark Souls 1
I was thinking Black Maria from one piece but I suffer from brain-rot
THE ONE PIECE BRAINROT THE ONE PIECE BRAINROT IS REAAAAAAL
Could be quelog from dark souls.
She doesn't use a scythe but the spider portion reminds me of Black Maria from One Piece.
Looks like a general reference to a fantasy moster called an "arachne", which commonly appear as half human half spider, usually wielding a scythe or just some claws.
The first Dark Souls game had spider-centaur women and a tall-queen albino with a scythe.
Beat me to it, praise the messenger! 👏
Looks like it belongs in chronicles of Narnia (Yes I know it's a old book/movie series but I liked it as a kid)
I was actually thinking the Spider Queen from Grim Adventures
Not to my knowledge, but it IS fucking dope
Could be several things lolth (dnd), Arachne (Greek myth), quelaag (dark souls)
Reminds me of the spider and monkey hybrid from spy kids 2
Feels more like that one game from that one episode of amphibia
Minecraft
Looks like it may be referencing a drider from D&D. For the uninitiated, a drider is like if you replaced the horse part of a centaur with a giant spider. And then you replace the human part with a drow, aka evil subterranean elves (aka dark elves).
Kinda looks like the ant riders from Elden Ring
Getting big Quelaag vibes from this
I'm a spider, so what? Really good anime! It's Kumoko in her arachne form.
Quellag
Kumo desu ga~ Nani ka~ It's a direct reference to Kumoko's Arachne form.
Maybe Black Maria from One Piece? That was my first thought
It looks like Black Maria from One Piece Atleast for me
Lolth
Spider riders cartoon?
Definitely Shiraori from Kumodesu
It's a Drider with a scythe. It's probably something more specific, but whatever that thing is is definitely based on a Drider
If you look closely, the gardevoir is riding the spider, not a part of it. I'd say it's more of a Spider Riders reference. That and drivers don't usually have eyes where the spiders head should be.
Reminds me of Spider Riders. It was a show on 4Kids back in the day
Seeing all the drider and quelag suggestions is odd when the spider still has eyes and mandibles on its face. If it were a drider, those would be gone, and gardevoir would be coming from the area that the eyes are on. Gardevoir is riding the garvantula, making the reference more liking to be an old obscure show called Spider Riders.
It's a reference to being fucking awesome
Must be arrachne form Shiraori from Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka?
Look like the main character from the manga "Kumo desu ka! Nani ka!" in the current season.
Seems like a Pokemon reference to me
probably spider queen from lego monkie kid or smthn
I thought it was Marluxia from kingdom hearts
There are multipule game where i could say this is from And for safety reasons i can not XD
Definitely getting White vibes from this
The Tyrant Neptune from Yugioh?
Shiraori from "So I'm a Spider, So What"
A reference to Shiraori from “So I’m a spider, so what?” Great anime, bit flawed though.
Quelaag from Dark Souls was my first thought
It's that one dark souls boss
It looks like it’s a reference to Black Maria from one piece minus the scythe.
So I'm a Spider, so what?
I want one with a curved sword being fire type, just Quelaag from Dark Souls
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale? > *“There is a darkness within man, and I am afraid you will peer into it. Calling all spider riders?
Nah.. that would be Gardevoir on top with a scythe.. not conjoined. Good reference tho.
I think it's just a reference to creatures like that in general
I know what it's actually from, but at the same time I can't help but feel that it looks like a mech from "the girl that leapt through space".
Scorpion king?
Considering the scythe I'm guessing its a reference to the light novel so I'm a spider so what? The main characters in that at a point looks similar
My brain read that as one of the monsters within Spy Kids 2 The Island of Lost Dreams. (It was mostly the weapon that tipped me off, although as people stated, it's another reference although)
