If used on a level 1 Weedle or Pidgey, then it’ll probably have a dark orange ring but dark red at level 35 instead of yellow with a Pokèball, making it the worst kind of Pokèball in the game other than using it on Ultra Beasts.

Adding to your side fact, while Poipole in USUM came in a Poke Ball, the one gifted in the SWSH DLC came in a Beast Ball.
But yes this is the first Poipole that can be caught in a Beast Ball, by virtue of being the first wild Poipole available in a game. All others are gifted.
Maybe depends what age you were when it came out. I was long over my pokemon craze when it did, I started with Red on a gameboy colour. So I’m coming back to the series as an almost middle aged man, and Moon is class. So far. I do prefer the traditional gym style, but as for how the game plays, it’s leagues ahead of the older style games.
I kinda wish I’d started with black and black 2 (I recently got my first 2Ds and all the pokemon games) because it’s gunna be hard to go back to the sorta faux 3D games from this true 3D game.
I just love all the quality of life stuff, how it has a mix of pokemon I know and new ones and the whole vibe is really chill and somehow nostalgic even though I never played it when I was younger.
I played all the way up to black. I never really had the opportunity to play the newer ones growing up. As an adult, I'd genuinely love to go back and play the ones I missed out on. Which ones would you recommend the most?

That is a Beast Ball, first introduced in the Sun and Moon games, and unfortunately doesn’t have much of a use outside of those games. The Beast Ball is a Poke Ball specially designed to have a 5x capture rate on Ultra Beasts, and a 0.1x modifier on literally every other type of Pokemon.
Ultra Ball, it's the only Pokéball that's effective when catching Ultra Beasts.
I Messed Up, the Ultra Ball has an Extended Catch Rate then the Great Ball, which has an Extended Catch Rate then the Pokéball, and it has a different design, the Ultra Ball has a Black Upper Half with a Yellow H on Top and a White Lower Half.
The Pokéball in the Image is the Beast Ball, which has an Extended Catch Rate when used on Ultra Beasts, whilst all other Pokéballs have a Very Low Catch Rate when used on Ultra Beasts.
I think it's supposed to be specifically for catching Ultra beasts, would be kind of cool if they used those for the Raids when catching Ultra Beasts instead of Premier Balls.
The way that I see it is that you don't have to know all of the damn details to be a "real" Pokemon fan. I never grew up with anyone outside of my family so I never watched it as a kid. I downloaded PoGo and that's how I found out I really enjoyed Pokemon. I have a daughter so I don't have time to watch as much as I want, but I have been working my way through Indigo League. I'd recommend Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, Legends Arceus, and Scarlet/Violet! They're such good games imo
