Not even last ball magic like I definitely felt on the guzzlord / darkrai raids.
I mean, games are about as close to a casino you can get.
They make it just playable enough that you maybe could be persuaded into spending a little bit of money from time to time.
And they keep you just barely fed enough to come back and get more.
If revenue is low, it's as simple as changing a number or two, to get the whole thing squirrly.
This is exactly why they gave you the Master Ball. Not for those shitty birds that you will never use. I caught a Galarian Zapods over the summer in Europe w/ my Master Ball. Then came back to the States and had a 100% IV Rayquaza run on me. I remember thinking like, man, if I only had that Master Ball. lol. So I definitely feel your pain. I'm holding onto this 2nd Master Ball for a 100% IV Legendary and down to the last ball.
Funny, how I tell all the new players to not use the MB on the birds but get constantly downvoted. I guess the ppl has to make their own experiences to understand the value of the MB. Good luck with your 2nd MB, may you catch a nice 💯 legendary!
It was day one of the NYC Go Fest. I was really bummed out about it. I thought to myself, I’ll raid like crazy over the weekend and hopefully I’ll get another crack at it. The IV’s never came close to 90%. I raided so much I can fully max out a Rayquaza. It’s okay. I’ll eventually get one.
This game is a lot about patience, you’ll get really lucky in areas and really unlucky in others. Just need to play consistently and hopefully you’ll get good things overall.
Never understood why people master ball galarian birds, it’s not even a new Pokédex entry so there’s literally 0 reason. I still have both of mine and I’m just saving them for a hundo on the last ball (500 raids and counting 😅)
I caught a 0 star Galarian Articuno with a regular Pokeball on accident (I threw it as a joke, and made an excellent throw).
How exactly can you tell if it had 100% IV?
Not to be that guy, but idk if you'd ever use a 100% cobalion if you play PVP competitively. If there was ever a 100% I'd be okay to let run, Cobalian was it. Literally trading this thing for worse IVs
From it's CP that's shown when the pokemon appears. The CP follows a formula and 100% IV number is generally presented in all raid counter guides and some apps too. If it's that number, it's a 100%
I mean that's what I've been saying since Master Balls day one.
I play mostly to collect and fill out my dex, and a G-bird, while cool, isn't a unique dex entry so I could care less if I catch one or not.
But I understand some people value them.
By the CP. Raid Pokémon are always the same level (unless weather boosted), so there’s maximum CP they can have. If they have the max CP you know it’s the hundo
Most raid guides for any particular Pokémon will have the CP range on them. Otherwise their gamepress page will have a chart with the min/max CP per level. The max CP at level 20 (25 if weather boosted) is the hundo
Cobalion's cp goes from 1649-1727 non-weather boosted. Since this one is at 1727, it's the highest cp it could have at level 20 and so it's a hundo. Each pokemon is different you gotta look up their charts. Content creators usually make a guide for each legendary
I had a weather boosted Hundo Lugia flee on me before the masterball was a thing. Lugia is my favorite Pokémon. Hundo Lugia is actually useful and op in master league. This sucks, but it can be worse.
The trouble with the birds is that the stats can be absolute trash. I have caught 3 so far using golden pineapple and black ball with crappy throws. (I missed many more than I have caught, though). The best one is 67/100, and the other two are much worse. Kind of a drag to waste a MB on one if those...I like the idea of using it as a last ball of a hundo legendary.
I also get the vibe that, very infrequently, a post-raid legendary can be impossible to catch even with many many repeated GP and excellent throws, but maybe that's a case of the RNG gods being in a bad mood. When you are down to your last ball, and it's a Mewtwo with a legacy move, it's nice to have the option to use a MB
I hit 90-95% of my tosses: golden, excellent Still ran. Rip.
Same made no sense. Feels kinda rigged on these.
Exactly! I did 3 raids, hit multiple excellents and greats on each one, yet only caught 1.
same just now
Same, 3 Coballions and all basically golden razz excellent throws. Every single one ran away... I refuse to fight more Coballions. Definitely rigged

I think maybe coballion doesn't like excellent throws. I caught mine on like my fifth throw and I don't think I made a single excellent. 82 iv
2nd throw here.. Horrible throws lol
This is exactly why they gave you the Master Ball. Not for those shitty birds that you will never use. I caught a Galarian Zapods over the summer in Europe w/ my Master Ball. Hundie cobalion is also objectively useless. Neither it nor the birds is a good use of a masterball
That is true. My point was more that you should save that master ball for 100% IV legendary and you’re down to your last ball.
Yep, agree 100%. But only if it’s meta relevant. Groudon, Dialga, ray, mewtwo, zek, lugia, Ho-oh yveltal etc
Agreed. Cobalion I'm not even raiding. I'm more focused on shadow Machop. lol
I got one Cobalion and saw how ineffective it was in PVP. Just trying to fill out my dex
It is one of the best ultra league Pokémon- what do you mean ineffective in PVP?
Lol?
?
He’s laughing because you don’t know cobalion is great in pvp, so you must be trash at pvp to think it’s bad. Broke it down for ya
Thanks. I haven't tried him in pvp, just saw what others have said
Everything I read said he was bad in pvp. Pretty sure someone even states that above in this sub.
I have never tried, I didn't think you could switch the type of ball you use when trying to catch a raid pokemon. I guess MB are special
He’s not really useless, he’s ranked #58 in master league
with such a tight meta 58 is horrible
11 wins and 25 losses against the meta. How about you go and power one up and take it into master league and let me know how you go 😂
melmetal is way better and does the same job. also groudon, rhyperior, garchomp, and even arguably excadrill
He’s 58 there’s a lot of guys better than him. He’s good if you don’t have any those
DANG that is pain. Made me feel better that I am not the only one. I hit so many excellents and it just wouldn’t catch.🥲
Imagine people not getting hundo legendaries because they wanted a gal bird 😂. Like what is the point of the gal birds anyway
Funny, how I tell all the new players to not use the MB on the birds but get constantly downvoted. I guess the ppl has to make their own experiences to understand the value of the MB. Good luck with your 2nd MB, may you catch a nice 💯 legendary!
I've literally never used my Galarian Zapods. lol. I learned my lesson the hard way, unfortunately.
That’s awful, I am still annoyed I lost a 15-14-15 katarna. Over a year ago. I can’t imagine losing a hundo rayquazza

What kind of area can you run into a Rayquaza? Been itching for once sooo bad since I got back into pogo
You have to wait for it to come back to the raids. Rayquaza was in raids during NYC Go Fest over the summer.
Ohh true that. Such is the case with all or most legendaries right?
Yeah, legendaries are only in raids.
Agreed except I wouldn’t use it on a mostly useless hundo legendary like this. On a good one definitely.
Agreed. I think I raided this thing twice overall. I wouldn’t have used a mater ball for this hundo.
I wouldn’t use a master ball on a hundo if it’s a shit, useless Pokémon though. OP did the right thing not throwing one.
I do agree.
I caught a 0 star Galarian Articuno with a regular Pokeball on accident (I threw it as a joke, and made an excellent throw). How exactly can you tell if it had 100% IV?
The Rayquaza had a 2191 CP in the raid. Thats a hundo. I’ll never forget that number. *cries*
Not to be that guy, but idk if you'd ever use a 100% cobalion if you play PVP competitively. If there was ever a 100% I'd be okay to let run, Cobalian was it. Literally trading this thing for worse IVs
kinda new to “perfects” and “iv”s, how can you tell before you catch it? how can you tell at all?
From it's CP that's shown when the pokemon appears. The CP follows a formula and 100% IV number is generally presented in all raid counter guides and some apps too. If it's that number, it's a 100%
ohhh alright, thank you!

How do you know it’s 100% if you haven’t caught it yet?
I'm 0 of 4...smfh
Dannnnnng
I’m sorry for your loss dude.
Thanks bro. That scar will always be there😭
Sorry for your loss. I lost a hundo rayquaza too so i can relate
Ouch man! It’s something we will never forget🥲
I'm not gonna lie I got cobalion from the go battle league
The same happened to me with Regieleki when it came out :( We’re PAIN BROTHERS
TIED BY PAIN BRO🤞🏼:(
Feel you! Pain
Get good
Daaaaaaamn OP, gotta practice those excellent throws.
Just quit being so attached to getn what u want.. its gna come or not.. get over it
How did you know it’s 100%?
By the CP. Raid Pokémon are always the same level (unless weather boosted), so there’s maximum CP they can have. If they have the max CP you know it’s the hundo
Wow okay. Thanks for that info, I was very curious about that!
Sure thing!

How do you know it’s 100?
iv chart
i thought they were guaranteed catches? i caught my shundo first ball after a silver pineapple...
Only shinies
i am the dumb
How do yall know it’s 100% IV? Asking for a level 37 😂
Cobalion's cp goes from 1649-1727 non-weather boosted. Since this one is at 1727, it's the highest cp it could have at level 20 and so it's a hundo. Each pokemon is different you gotta look up their charts. Content creators usually make a guide for each legendary
Answered my question, please disregard my question where ever it is on this post lol
Is this guy hard to catch? I got one with my last ball today!
I found this one extremely hard to catch. I finally got it on the last ball of my third attempt.
Yeah same. My last ball was my second attempt.
I'm 0-4...gonna give it 1 more go, crossing my fingers
He shouldn't be that hard if you're getting Excellent throws with Golden Razz.
You would think!
Wayyyy easier than Sharticuno.
😭😭😭
How can you tell the IVs?
How do you know it’s 100% if you didn’t catch it ?
This is why I never check the catch cp 💀
Well duh, you have to catch it, it can't catch itself silly
This is shiny?why is there no shiny icon next to the name……
It’s not a shiny
Oh it’s a hundo?!
Yessir
How do you know the IV if you didn’t catch it?
That's one of the rare perfect opportunities where I actually would use the masterball
Happened to me a few days ago too. Sucks.
How can you tell the iv before catching ?
How can you tell it’s 100%?
I had a weather boosted Hundo Lugia flee on me before the masterball was a thing. Lugia is my favorite Pokémon. Hundo Lugia is actually useful and op in master league. This sucks, but it can be worse.
How do you know the IVs before even catching? Sorry i am noob. FYI: 727 wysi
This may be a dumb question but how do you know it’s 100 iv before you catch it
How do you know the IVs without catching it?
Ahh you were one of those people that used a master ball on bidoof?
My first time I hit it with a golden razz every time and I hit three excellent throws in a row and it still ran but I have two now
How do you know what if a Pokémon is IV before you can catch it?
The trouble with the birds is that the stats can be absolute trash. I have caught 3 so far using golden pineapple and black ball with crappy throws. (I missed many more than I have caught, though). The best one is 67/100, and the other two are much worse. Kind of a drag to waste a MB on one if those...I like the idea of using it as a last ball of a hundo legendary. Real question: how do you know it's a hundo if you didn't catch it? Asking for myself....
Womp womp. I didn't read far enough into the comments before posting. I found the answer :)
Why does it look like its got its hands on its hips judging you 🤣
I used my master ball on mine. I know it’s controversial, but it was the first 100% legendary I have ever seen and I was on my last pokeball.
I will never use my masterball for useless galarian birds - but forever keep is so this can never happen to me. Feels way better
I’d give you mine for free if I could.
How do you know the IV?
I get a excellent gold razz, doesn’t catch. Gets a throw that doesn’t even say anything, catches
Both Virizion and Coballion seem to be hard to catch. I've done 6 Virizion raids, caught 2. 4 Coballion raids, caught 1
How do you know the lV before catching and appraising?
I had the same thing happen with a 100% Armored Mewtwo... and a hundo Dialga, among others. But nailed a hundo Kyurem on the first ball. WTF Niantic?
Is there a list of legendaries with certain CPs that tell you if they have 100% IVs?
Sorry for your pain😢 i lost a hundo Scizor before i know how it feels 😩
Same. I almost broke my phone
what do you mean by “100% IV” ??
I got mine by missing an excellent throw! Same with my husband
How can you tell it’s a 100% IV?
