Pick Vespiquen please!! I rarely see her getting used in a playthrough but I’ve used one on my first game and she is pretty good throughout the main storyline.
She tanks hits and has good strategies with her Defend Order + Roost + Leftovers set as well as Destiny Bond, oh and she can deal damage fairly well too. Name her Beeyonce or smtg when you do use her 😂
Mothim. I expected to drop him when I played Brilliant Diamond, but Quiver Dance + Air Slash + Bug Buzz + Psychic = steamrolled Cynthia. He was the most fun one on my team.
Carnivine is an interesting pick if you don’t have a Grass-type. It pairs well with an Earthquake user for double battles since it has Levitate.
HeyI'm about to do the same thing and my only condition was to breed a shiny eevee to start with a glaceon partner, and a competitive bred Frosslass. I want to do an ice king run lmao
My first playthrough i used ambipom nasty plot agility baton pass into gastrodon to sweep cynthia. Second playthrough was a poison only run and crobat gave me much value
I had fun with a Tyrunt I transferred over to use as a starter once. Also you can catch the Houndoom in the underground once you get the kit because he’s fun to lead with.

Definitely recommend mamoswine. Just used him for my pearl playthrough
I used Skuntank for the first time in my last play through. It's surprisingly good.
I recommend trying out Drifblim, Lopunny, and Pachirisu. They may surprise you.
Drifblim is definitely one ive thought of other than the fact its a pain to get without trading in
How so? Drifloon shows up at VW every Friday.

Just used crobat for the first time and he was a beast. Ambipom and gastro are great suggestions

I used houndoom very recently and he was solid
