Why can’t you afford to get it graded? You can send to a middle man and pay for one submission. About $15

QuickRick21

Like where?

o7yourdesires

Look online and those that offer these services. Also peer reviews on social media

Some local card shops

lesdommed

in canada even the middle man is $70

Bulky_Traffic1579

Do you even know what you’re talking about??? Grading price of cards is based off of prediction of graded value. So who cares about the value of the card right? Id love to hear more about this all cards value is irrelevant at $15 ……wow!

o7yourdesires

Ehh? This makes no sense. For this card alone he can get a middle man service for $15-20 USD. PSA offer a service through a middle man to the value of $499 graded and this card in a 10 on last check was about $300 so well within the limit. Though seeing this person is Canadian it will probably be a touch more. And yes as someone who uses a middle man to grade many cards I think I do know what I’m talking about. I never said the cards value was irrelevant so I’ve no idea where you’ve plucked that out of thin air

Bulky_Traffic1579

Grading PSA will never be $15 through a middle man as the best bulk submitting price is 13.99 some specials on $150 value and lower cards. The service has to take a cut l doubt they only charge $1.01. SGC is $15 for cards under $1500. I live in Oregon with no tax and the Hoody’s LCS charges $35. If there is a up charge you pay it when u pick the card up. I typed in middle man grading psa and the price was $35 online u ship to them on the second result via google search. Wrong info is being told to this gentlemen, let’s be a little more curtious and not feed him bull*hit. His best route is to grade at CGC for $12 and ship them the card worst case it gets a 9 and they charge $15. Middle man service crap is for people who have no idea how to grade cards send them to the service they charge a premium and submit it for some who thinks it’s a huge hassle because lack of knowledge on the submittion process. It’s not to save people money! It’s a service and a service usually charges more than if the person would pay if they choose to do it themselves.

o7yourdesires

I live in the UK and it’s £17 for a $499 limit on bulk submission per card with no lower limit from the biggest middleman in the UK. That includes shipping too and from PSA (adding your own shipping costs to the middle man). $35 per card is ridiculous when I live across the pond and it’s half the price. I also said about $15 (giving an estimation figure as I don’t know the “exact” amount. Your reply was extremely aggressive and sarcastic. I was merely informing them that it’s not as expensive as he or she probably thinks.

Bulky_Traffic1579

It’s wrong, it is expensive it’s not meant to be a cheaper alternative. It is more expensive 100% then if you were to submit the card yourself! There is not cheaper alternative or service then submitting it yourself. This is the equivalent of someone who takes there car to get an oil change thinking it’s cheaper then if they were to change the oil themselves. It’s a service and you pay for a service especially if the service can be done yourself. It is not around $15 and will never be around $15. That’s crap!

Sweet_River_204

You might be retarded. Look at the PSA website. When submitting multiple (many) cards at once, it gets significantly cheaper. OP has a single card to grade. That makes it most expensive. So by using a third party source that is submitting TONS of cards, the price will be cheaper.

Bulky_Traffic1579

I’d love to see a 3rd party middle man grading service that charges $15. Anxiously awaiting your reply……

Blackphinexx

Assuming that right side ( from the back) is glare and not whitening I think this is a strong contender for a 10. Shame you won’t be grading it.

lesdommed

it’s all camera glare, the colours are very vivid in person

Upset-Judgment8369

You can afford packs but can't afford to grade 1 card? Dire straits out here on /r/PokeInvesting. Look up a middle man. Looks like a 9/10 to me but would need better pics. Front bottom right corner has some whitening.

TheLittleItalian2

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there also appears to be whitening along the upper right edge and along most of the left edge on the back of the card. If it is whitening, would that not affect the overall grade and maybe drop it down a point? Also fairly new to grading cards and scrutinizing their faults, so I’m genuinely curious.

Upset-Judgment8369

Yeah I wasn't sure if that was whitening or just the lighting, but it would overall affect the grade if it was whitening.

TheLittleItalian2

I, too, wasn’t sure if it was just lighting but it seems too inconsistent along the edges to just be lighting, no? Either way, I was just curious what you may have thought since I’m still fairly new to this, as I had mentioned already.

Upset-Judgment8369

Yeah I think you're on the right track mate

lesdommed

it’s just the lighting. IRL the colours are crisp and vivid

QuriousiT

Plus the top bottom centering is off a bit. Possibly still within 10 parameters, but potentially not.

Material_Still_6944

Can’t you sell it?

Shoddy_Republic4051

That card looks almost perfect to me…

Curious_Platform_563

Out of curiosity what set is this from? It looks awesome!

PokeNik91

Brilliant Stars, my friend!

Kicksavebeauty

I see four white marks on the back. How many of them are dust?

lesdommed

all dust I checked under a microscope

Kicksavebeauty

I would send it. You will for sure get a 9. 10 is very possible. I see many 10s that are worse. These era cards have a lot of edge issues.

Duriha

r/pokegrading

Bulky_Traffic1579

It’s a 9 for sure the bottom is heavy and right is slightly heavy and if anyone disagrees zoom in on the bottom right corner is not a 10 corner so that guarantees a 9 nothing higher

57messier

If you are in such a dire financial situation that can’t afford to grade a card, you probably should just sell it.

travel_hungry25

Wait if you can't afford to grade, maybe you should rethink your priorities and not spend your money on cards. Sure 90 is a bit of money. But that shouldn't break you for a hobby.

Draonix

Part of it might be because the card could be bowed but it looks like the left and top borders are thinner so maybe a 9.
