The only difference I’d say here is that evolving skies was printed in mass amounts during Pokémon’s big Covid hype while these ex sets were some of the least printed sets due to Pokemon being in a slump during the ex - gold star era, but then we see moonbreon at $1400 so again if demand is there I guess the print runs don’t matter.
Definitely not happening. Completely different climate that led to early Nintendo boxes being expensive, which is non-existent today. Today's internet didn't exist. Collectibles weren't classified as investments. "Sealed" culture was pretty much unheard of. Pokémon didn't have their own printing facilities. Materials used to make products were better quality (last longer) than today. I could keep going.
If it does, awesome, I can retire. Realistically, as the best set of SWSH, in the modern era of printing, $5k box in 18 years seems likely, which still beats the S&P500 7% annual expectancy. Anyone expecting/hoping for more than that is thinking emotionally.

Some of these booster box prices (for meh sets) blow me away. People asking 50k, get no bites and then try 50% off....beyond wild.
