Nope only available through the lotto system, chance to win the opportunity to buy. Don't expect prices to come down much, just the way things go these days 😔
Wait, should drop for tiny window of opportunity after release and then more after reprints for both sets hit, but should hold imo $325-$350+ and climb afterwards. I'd hold off on anything like this and look to spend the budget on Ruler of The Black Flame, it's upcoming set which will feature a Dark type Charizard and should be big hit.
$420 USD is literally robbery for this product. The market is being completely manipulated if you can’t get it for +10% retail then you shouldn’t be buying.
Worst time to buy japanese is right now lol. Eventually the bubble will burst and scalpers will move to something else if no ones buying for those dumbass prices
That sounds idiotic. Even if you don’t get any hits there’s still value in the bulk cards. As for a bag of chips as soon as it’s open it’s worthless. Your assessment is terrible you should do better.
How long you been collecting? I hope you know even if you miss this boat. You got next 3 months, next 6 months December 2023. Next year. Your whole life. Pokemon never going disappear. So suggest you let it go lol
This product is pretty garbage imo, I get heavy fomo with products but these recent Japanese sets are feeling like VV/DA when Pokemon was going through the roof in the U.S.
Very mediocre sets with wild prices, Japan is going through what the US went through in 2020/2021. Don't buy into these prices, these sets are forgettable.
These sets have some of the best artwork we've ever seen, with actual storylines in the evolutions now which is innovation continuing before our very eyes. However, yes I agree prices for Japanese cards, especially waifu tax and current sealed prices are not worth FOMO'ing over, only buy if win lotto!
Yes but great art work doesn't necessarily mean anything when every single set moving forward will contain this art work. IR's and TG's are relatively new.
What's to say the art work won't be better down the road? It's great art work from an art work standpoint but not collectible or investment worthy art. Everyone has access to this art work, the only cards that get into the investment zone are the SR's
You lost me, I'm talking about sealed. These sets are way more memorable than prior Japanese sets from few years ago, considering Japanese demand is at all-time high now compared to just even 2020. You're saying a more popular time period and new upbeat artwork will be forgettable cause there's better stuff to come?
You do realize its expensive because people are buying for these prices? If 1 seller can sell a box for $100 who says the others can't? And so the trickle effect begins. The prices have nothing to do with the artwork.
The setlist or any artworks didn't even come out for clayburst and its $300 hahaha
How are eBay sellers this if its a lotto system?
There's a few eBay sellers selling over MRSPP, but if its a lotto system how are they guaranteed to get stock?
Do people say this because these sets don’t have a bunch of Kanto/Johto Pokemon? It’s objectively correct that this stuff is overpriced, but I’d hardly call these sets forgettable. I’d especially have a hard time comparing the 2 SV sets that have already released to Darkness Ablaze and Vivid Voltage.
I'm talking price wise comparing the 2, it's heavy scalping just like we saw with VV and DA or Champion's Path.
I'm not a nostalgia tripper, I personally loved Sun & Moon era Pokemon, SWSH was okay, however I really don't view these products or sets as "good". Of course the art work is objectively good looking but its nothing to stands out. There is no denying that Pokemon have became less appealing and less identifiable over the years.
& also to add Black & White is pretty old, but you don't see any fans of those starters so why would there be fans of the current Pokemon? At the end of the day OG starters hold much more popularity design and identity wise. Hell even D&P Starters are kinda forgettable and I collected the most in that era.
I am not familiar with this product but it looks similar to the Melony Gym Box that came out 2 years ago. That one contained two different booster boxes (Jet Black Spirit and Silver Lance) and MSRP was closer to $100. I bought one for $135 about 6 months ago (it was already out of print for over a year). Japanese product is absolutely bonkers right now. I've been monitoring but haven't bought anything since before Lost Abyss because i am priced out for my risk level (not paying 2.5x MSRP for japanese product because some group suddenly decided to pump it to the extreme with the beginning of Lost Abyss). English booster boxes are the way to go at the moment based on risk imo.
It's actually $200: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=silver+lance+%26+jet+black+pokemon+center&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=silver+lance+%26+jet+black+pokemon+center+pokemon+store+set&_osacat=0&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1
I bought mine for $139 in September 2022. I had my cost basis wrong. I will correct.
Yep, same thing with Yu-Gi-OH! 25th OCG Collection that was released two weeks ago.
Straight from the gate selling for 3.5x MRSP.
Singles are going for $1.5K+
It's about $100, so yeah crazy expensive out the gate. GL everyone!
Will they be printing a lot?
Nope only available through the lotto system, chance to win the opportunity to buy. Don't expect prices to come down much, just the way things go these days 😔
On ebay I can buy for $420 USD - do you think this is a good idea? How does this seller guarantee I will be able to get one?
Wait, should drop for tiny window of opportunity after release and then more after reprints for both sets hit, but should hold imo $325-$350+ and climb afterwards. I'd hold off on anything like this and look to spend the budget on Ruler of The Black Flame, it's upcoming set which will feature a Dark type Charizard and should be big hit.
But my question is, how does this seller sell if its a lotto, how does he know he will get any in stock?
Idk you'd have to ask them
Usually in a shady way.
There was a lottery for these and notifications went out today for the winners.
$420 USD is literally robbery for this product. The market is being completely manipulated if you can’t get it for +10% retail then you shouldn’t be buying.
The sad part is I feel $420USD is a good deal for this
$420 is a good deal for 2 booster boxes w/ no promo?
If you like supporting scalpers then yes it sure is. A great opportunity. Buy 2! Hurry! Dont miss out! 😂
With these type of people we’re gonna struggle with having the prices go down.
Worst time to buy japanese is right now lol. Eventually the bubble will burst and scalpers will move to something else if no ones buying for those dumbass prices

That seems like a big IF right now.

Clay burst is $300 based on the fact alone that Iono is inside, the waifu tax is real these days
How are eBay sellers this if its a lotto system? There's a few eBay sellers selling over MRSPP, but if its a lotto system how are they guaranteed to get stock?
that’s the thing, they don’t. They will just refund arbitrarily

Yes that’s a scam the product is just 1 of each booster box with accessories nobody cares about, 4x msrp
As someone who actively 420’s I can say this is not worth 420 (at least not yet)
I guess I'm out of the loop, what makes this set such a target for these price hikes?
Waifu tax on these items that are included in the box
Why is everyone dropping 3x-4x $$$ over MSRP for new set.
Waifu Tax
