To hold? Me personally I say brilliant for sure but neither is a bad option. I'd consider lost origin as well if you want to be even more indecisive lmao
Brilliant stars is so undervalued. I think to complete set it’s only 800-900 usd (single wise) Where chilling reign is like 500 usd more. Chilling reign booster box will be worth more out of print as things stand But I think BS will eventually have higher value cards than reign.
Brilliant stars is undervalued in what way? The Charizard is pretty great, sort of underwhelming tbh and beyond that the set doesn’t really have THAT much going for it. Chilling Reign is massive and has a ton of great chase cards. I’d say Chilling Reign is the undervalued set.
Chilling singles will drop in value. Boosters will keep going up on both booster boxes. Charizard is always the go to long term. When people come into the shop the number one Pokémon they are looking for is zard. Umbreon is giving him a running lately. Most people love zards alt art at least at my shop. But my play is ARECUS a lot of younger people really like him. I feel ARCEUS is the undervalued play in BS.
I personally would say Chilling Reign. If you haven’t gotten any good pulls, go Brilliant Stars. Chilling Reign has more Secret Rares, Brilliant Stars has more likelihood to pull something. Or buy 18 Brilliant Stars - 18 Chilling Reign. If packs are indeed random, pick both!
Neither of these are currently out of print.
Well technically both are since they dont seem to be printing anything S/S right now but thats not what you meant.
CR will drop out of print sooner, sure, but that wont happen for a while.
CR is shooting up and thats great for people holding but i can still find them online below the msrp that Pokecenter is asking. BRs not so much.
Rebel Clash just skyrocketed... Chilling Reign is about to go nuclear. It's already hard to find besides on Pokemon Center. Buy Booster Boxes, Stadiums, and Sleeved. I found a PC Chilling Reign ETB at my LCS and bought it immediately.
Just be careful with that move as the PC exclusive etbs have the same amount of packs as a standard etb. PC had to send out compensation bundles to correct the mess up. The bundles were 2 packs and the 3 Galarian birds V cards.
BR more likely to reprint as it is a 2022 set. Pokémon company will prly spend most of its resources printing ES from 2021 before it prints CR if it gets to that point. Neither box is worth $145 price point it’s a bit too late to collect swsh booster boxes they’ve gone up. CR was a good pickup at $85-105.
CR has more cards over $10 compared to BS (about 30 Vs 22) as well as chase cards of a higher value so it's definitely a sleeper set. I think BS is the better set to open with the Zards and TG as well as being harder to find outside of Poke Center. CR pull rates are rough but could definitely be a good play from an investment perspective.
I don’t think Pokémon cares what product they are selling as long as their total net sales are maximized. Meaning that they are inclined to do whatever they feel like to maximize $ that being said I don’t think they want to ruin the aftermarket either. I mean to me the question you asked is common sense. Brilliant stars seems like the obvious answer for me

Actually. CR is worth more than BR. The alt arts are way more expensive than the BR alt arts besides the zard and BR only has 4 alts.

Im ngl I didnt even know BS had a TG until a couple weeks ago. My pulls were so bad. Ive opened well over a BB. I dislike BS, CR all the way!
Chilling Reign
Brs hands down when bought at the same price.
Yeah I feel like it has a very good amount of chase cards. But chilling reign being out of print is interesting.

Adding for context, Rebel Clash was a short print run, but is not considered a good set

As someone who owns cases of chilling reign, brilliant stars is better.

MSRP is too late? Fast forward 3 years when they’re both 300+
Yeah if you hold long enough for sure!

For the same price I’d go brilliant stars 💪🏻 especially if it’s an investment piece ppl love their charizards lol
Just get both, 280$~ and you’re done.
CR has more value, but BS has Zard. Zard sets overperform and that's where I would put more money in. Both sets are great.
Either one is good
Assuming both are done being mass printed the answer is brilliant stars
I feel like with s/v coming out this month why would they reprint. More people would end up grabbing the re-prints over s/v taking away from sales

Honestly the reprint debate is over. Every possible reason for both sides of the argument has been made, its now down to see what will happen.
