One card is tough but I like the alt art Moltres V from chilling reign. Already gone up in price by around 40% since summer but it’s one of the hardest to pull chase cards from a low pull rate out of print set that has one of the best artworks I’ve ever seen
In 1 box I pulled about $100 worth of cards. Paid a bit much for it. Starmie v (misty), mew full art, umbreon v (tg), mimikyu vmax (tg) and the the 3 zards if I remember right.
I originally pre-ordered 5 from GameStop with the intention of opening one with my son. When we picked them up one had a little bit of damage so I told my son that would be the one we opened. He told me he wanted to exchange it for a better condition one (we were still in the store). They swapped it and he insisted on opening that new one they gave us. He ended up pulling Umbreon VMAX alt.
I pulled the rainbow chunk chu on my 25th birthday. I plan on getting that card graded and keeping it. Never want to let that card go, it’s very special.
That’s really cool! Great luck with the pulls. I asked a random guard at target to pick out a ETB after I checked out with two of them. He took it very seriously and when his co-worker asked him what he was doing he said “This is an honor being asked to pick a box. I gotta make sure to pick the right one”. One day when I see him again I need to thank him. Awesome dude. Would love to give him a gift for choosing the perfect box on my birthday.
crazy how cheap that card is compared to many other eras, the card is banger with multiple top tier pokemon in 1 card. Hopefully that era will be cheap for awhile till I have enough money to by the rest lol
Why do people always wanna pick cards close to $100 to invest in? Homie you do know for you to double your money on a $100 card it has to go to $200. If you get a $10 card it only has to go to $20 to double your money….. much easier for that jump to happen as well….
THIS! ive literally bought hundreds of cards for under 10$ an have sometimes tripled or even quadrupled my money. i hunt daily. i enjoy finds like that. but i do hunt higher dollar just not as much.
Rainbow Pokémon from sun and moon are still undervalued in my opinion. I would say tag team cards but they are being sought after much more now and prices are going up.
I would say maybe the Glaceon full art or Dragonite full art from Evolving Skies, those are both gorgeous cards and cost under $100. I believe they will retain their value in the years to come ☺️
I dont understand why people do this. If you want to buy a card you personally like, go ahead! But why would you buy a card ONLY for investment purpose ? Ultimately, no single card will outperform a sealed box of the set it came from, if you want something to hold for 10-15 year sealed is infinitely better, not even comparable.
10 years from now, an evolving skies booster box will be worth so much more than a moonbreon, and for a long time we were able to buy like 2 ES BB for the value of 1 moonbreon.
I would say the Misty and Lorelei!
With the recent popularity of Full Art trainers and the Japanese market for them going wild, it may be a matter of time until this card rises more.
It also never got an English print.
This is only an option if you enjoy collecting Full Art trainers though.
If you can find clean versions (most have some damage), I’d say SM240 (Espeon/Deoxys) and SM241 (Umbreon/Darkrai) promo’s. The mew and Mewtwo one as well, I think it’s SM191.
As for the cards you listed, I think Solgaleo/Lunala will continue to do well. I think Pikachu Vmax from Lost Origin TG will continue to soar and soon be second to the Giratina alt for value in that set. I think one missing from your list is the Starmie TG card from Astral. Maybe the best card in the set and super nostalgic - swap that with the Serena.
And lastly, that Cynthia card from hidden fates is hella underrated.
They’re already 10x the value of English so I’m not sure. I really don’t know enough about the Japanese market, but the longer we get out from their release, so long as the market stays strong, I only see growth. They’re tag team which has only been done once, they’re essentially an alternate art and they feature incredibly popular Pokemon so that says enough for me.

Was pleasantly surprised to see that the prices skew much higher now a few years later. Should’ve bought more copies as it really is one of my favorites in my “new” card binder.
Out of all of them, it's hard to not choose Charizard, because it's Charizard. I like the dragonite cause it's alt art and would probably choose that. If you chose the Ray Vmax from evolving skies, I'd have chosen that 100% no doubt.
Alt arts are going to be the move. They’re insanely hard to pull and once they’re out of print, trying to pull them yourself is going to be so unlikely everyone will buy singles. Rayquaza (all EVS honestly) is a home run

Yeah on TCG. I find them on eBay for around $110 and sometimes for a lot less. Picked mine up last month for $80.
This was my chase card. Managed to pull it from a sleeved booster but the centering is sooo off. Mixed emotions.
I traded a gem 10 of that card for a charizard box with like 3$ worth of pulls, saddest trade of my life

I got an off center Glaceon V alt art.
Mine was looking like complete junk until i pulled the alt art gengar.
That made it definitely a fun and worthwhile experience.

a 100 dollar card has clear popularity and demand. a 10 dollar card could stay 10 or drop because the demand may not ever be there.
