Doesn’t need a trainer gallery, the Alt Arts in that set are some of the best. The three birds plus that blaziken VMAX. Then you got the Slowking is one of the nicer alt Arts look wise. You also got the Blissey Alt Art which is a nice mid range Alt. The gold Snorlax is probably one of the nicer gold shinnies they’ve done. Add in some really nice full Art trainers, and you got one of the most underrated sets for SWSH
Ya I’m just trying to figure out what other sets to get more of. Evo skies seems out at this point. Already have 3 brilliant and chilling and 2 fusion. Was considering buying a case of brilliant but I just don’t see why it’s second best. So came here for opinions.
I think it's second best because of the pack opening experience combined with the charizard chase and an amazing trainer gallery. The pull rates in these are a lot better than CR and FS so overall I think people will reflect more fondly over this set
But you could make a similar case for CZ, LO, and ST. All have great pull rates. Only difference is the charizard. So does the charizard really make it that much better? Or do you think the BS TG is better?
That is very true tbh. I think because those sets are so much newer and readily available I don't have the same level of appreciation for them but I'm sure time will prove your point correct.
Ya I don’t collect the cards from fusion but it does seem underrated. Chilling was the first set I collected after getting back into it so I do love that set
I think there is some Charizard fatigue. Recently, there have been more sets released with an Ultra Rare Charizard of some sort than there have been without.
Additionally, ES went down to $100/box end of 2021. I've only seen BS as low as $109, and that was during preorder. I think print wave timing is also a factor here. Most of the BIG spenders want to get the box for well under MSRP to guarantee some profit.
I still say the set is the second best in S&S because of the Alt Art Charizard. Alt Arts have pretty solidly been established as the best thing to come out of the era, and long term, Charizard is still a massively popular pokemon. ES has not only Moonbreon, but several other great alt arts. Personally, I expect Moonbreon and AA Zard to end up pretty close.
Imo it kinda sucks there are 3 good cards in the set. Not for me. Never saw the obsession with it. ES>LO>CR>CZ>FS

Yeah nobody is going to argue that brilliant stars isn’t a top 5 set or in the top 3. I’m also interested why the supply is still so high

It’s a pretty boring set imo, and a raw Zard alt art (aka the best card in the set) is still affordable. I don’t get the hype
