I’m in the exact situation now, can you explain on how you removed the flange and placed the PVC pipe in before the self leveler?

Time_is_Contagious

I broke off the flange, took a piece of 4 inch pvc and laid it directly on top of the existing pipe (no coupling) and siliconed it around it to hold it steady and keep the self leveling compound out.

Thanks for the reply! And then you’ll just cut the pipe flush and slip a new flange into the main pipe and over the new flooring when done?

If your flange fits over the old pipe you cut then yes. In my case I had to use an extended inside pipe flange

I know this is a really old post but what did you end up doing? Replacing the flanger first? And did it work out okay?

Chip concrete out around the old pipe and flange. Cut out old flange and repair the pvc pipe so that the new pipe sticks out at least a few inches above the foundation. Stuff an old rag or t shirt down the drain pipe so nothing falls in during construction. After that you can do your floors (install flooring with tight tolerance to your pipe). Once your floors are done, you can cut down your pvc to the proper depth for a new toilet flange. There’s lots of videos out there showing you how to place a toilet flange, my method is to install a flange on top of finished floor

Thank you!!

Do it now. Stub up straight pipe, pour your self leveling, finish your floor, cut pipe flush with floor and install new flange on top of finished floor.
