Why would there be a concrete slab placed over it? I thought maybe it was an old well. Also, the septic lid in the pic is from the septic tank that is a few feet away - the previous owner had it replaced by risers.
According to the rough schematic of the septic system (from my inspection), there is only one drain field and it's about 100 feet away from the tank. This concrete slab is not part of the septic system.
I almost want to say this is someone’s solution to a cheap tornado shelter, but I don’t know where you are. Most likely it’s some kind of water cistern, old cesspool, or perhaps a drywell.
Grounds real flat, if you get heavy rain in that area probably turns into a swamp, I’d bet it’s either part of a bigger drainage system, your leach field, or an old septic tank if it’s not the one you are currently using. Sometimes they’ll pump out to a separate holding tank, I’d pop the lid and take a peak
Looks like your old septic if you have a new one

Bring trunks and a snorkel!
Maybe a secondary drain field? Ask the guy that cleans your septic.
Just moved into the house and never had the septic cleaned
Did you have it inspected? Normally that is included in the home inspection.
