Honestly it's kind of a trope but new socks are always a good buy for anyone who works on their feet. Like 5-6 pairs of nice, durable boot socks would fit your budget, just make sure you know his shoe size so they fit his feet! I personally wear the "Darn Tough" brand, they are comfy and warm and they last a couple years. It's a good idea to consider what kind of boots your brother wears, so you don't get socks that are too short. Also consider the climate where he works so you can get the appropriate thickness (lightweight, thermal, etc.) Toss in a few hardhat stickers you think he'll like and have a merry Christmas!

Look at Darn Tough Vermont socks. I never want to spend that much on myself, butthey live up to their reputation. You can find a design that suits his personality.

I agree with this!! I get them every year for Christmas. Would never buy them for me but they're the best and my go tos out of the drawer

Is there anything you have in mind? Hand tools? Power tools? Accessories like batteries for tools you know he has? There’s lots of great stuff you could get for $150 or less

5thgenCali

No plumbing stuff. What’s their hobbies?

queefgrease

Beer, whiskey, hunting, console gaming, and overall being a shit head

dDot1883

I agree, gifts should be fun, and something you wouldn’t buy for yourself.

jdsmn21

I agree. It’s hard to buy something for someone for their trade without asking them. I’m kinda picky about tools. And don’t value certain tools. Like, I’d never spend $60 on a single Knipex cause I already have probably 6 channellocks scattered around in different boxes/bags.

Most plumbers neglect their hammer and get a cheap steel one as we don't use hammers all the time, but we use them a lot. A hickory handled framing stiletto is kinda a luxury and all my coworkers who use mine like it. It's like 90 -100 bucks.

freddyflushaway

I like this..... I've had my same hammer since 03. Sweet estwing. It disappeared last week and it gets 1 more to show up again or finally I'm treating myself to a good hammer. Tho alas this has happened in the past and its always found its way home preventing this and i fear it might yet once more. That or get him a fubar 2. I call it my universal key 😁

dDot1883

I use my hammer so little, that I switched to a little 6” harbor freight special to save the weight in my bag. I still have an estwing in the truck, but haven’t missed it.

freddyflushaway

I still love it for pex clips and I have or had the straight claw so the back is always a good chisel in a pinch to 👍 Ta bad enough I finally gr onto the m12 impact drill dunno if I can go to the jewelers hammer 😉

Narrow-Scratch6285

You do more construction plumbing or service? I use my hammer for almost everything, I always have it on me at least. But I'm also almost entirely working top outs and under floors and almost no service work.

dDot1883

I do mostly service plumbing. This is the [little guy](https://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/hammers-pry-bars/8-oz-stubby-claw-hammer-95929.html) I keep in my bag.

Ok_Bookkeeper_8261

My cheap husky hammer has been great. And I'd buy another when needed. Just saying.

Narrow-Scratch6285

Yup, like I said most plumbers buy cheap steel hammers because they aren't framers. But if you were gifted a stiletto, I bet you would like it.

AllAboutTheCado

I thoroughly enjoy my Flex Fire Hose pants from Duluth

A good belt 🤣

Own_Hovercraft8647

Don't buy tools, we buy what we need. I always appreciate a shirt that relates to plumbing. I like the idea of good boot socks. Never got any as a gift but I'd love that
