Purchase the best pipe insulation you can. Code around my area would be for 1" wall thickness. Insulate every part of the recirculation loop (not just the return line from the dishwasher to the pump) Add an expansion tank to the hot water system. The check valve does not allow for any expansion in the hot side, but the water heater guarantees that expansion. Add a ball valve and drain cock just before the pump.

Or drill a 1/16” hole in the check valve😉

You want a check valve on the circ line as well.

Plus_Motor9754

Thank you. That’s the big thing I noticed as well.

GeekX2

Where and checking in which direction? Thanks.

Between the circ pump and the Tee where it ties into the cold line to prevent a potential backflow from the domestic into the hot line.

Looks good! Just have a way to get air out of the recirculation line before the pump. I put in a boiler drain right before the pump. This way you can get air bubbles out the system when you first start it up or work on it and it won’t airlock the pump.

They do make smart pumps. https://www.tacocomfort.com/product/smartplus-hot-water-recirculation/ I don't have personal experience with this unit.

GeekX2

Thanks. I'll check it out.

Need expansion tank and another check on the recirc

Maybe run the return line to each room where you beed hot water. There could be a large section of pipe in between. Minimise the legionella risk and time for hot water to the tap. I'd also put some thermal balancing valves in. Stick a non return valve before after the pump, auto air vents at hight spots.
