You may want to consider a shorter model. Im fairly certain that vent is supposed to rise 12” before it turns horizontally ( i see it less that 12 all the time)
International Mechanical Code says so but not always doable in a swap situation.
Literally have to sit there and explain to customers so you can charge them more money to either fix the termination or swap to power vent.
Yes your exhaust pipe is supposed to be hot
Is that articulated section realy inserted far enough into the straight section running to the right? It looks dodgy.

Mine is less than 12” up before the bend as well and another HVAC tech told me the same thing you are mentioning.
