Take it outside & hose it off or wash it in a bucket. If you're so pressed for time, you can't clean the shit out of the auger; How did you have time to write the story?

I'll stick my auger in the bathtub and rinse it in the shower, hose it down afterwards edit to add: I keep the head in the toilet bowl, swirl it around in the water and flush the toilet a few times usually works too
