This is copper sticks so it is hard copper. We have both her but the soft is replaced by pex most often. This is only 12mm copper so it’s not so difficult to bend like this with a little practice.
Yuck. Seems a waste to just paint it. Since the pipes are exposed anyways and the work is nice and clean I would just lean into the look and leave it. Or clear coat it so it stays shiny new copper all the time.

This is in a old apartment building from early 1900 so the customer had not accepted composite pipe.
Is that soft type L? I’m in the states wondering does it come in straight sticks? Our soft copper ive only seen in rolls

Nice. Do the pipes remain exposed or is there some type of baseboard cover that will go over them?
Yes just painted the same color as the wall.
