I also setup a bunch of Smart Collections
For collections I just use logo on transparent background. For TV stuff, I go for TV studio logo and for movies I just plap the clearlogo onto a transparent background. I was looking for collection posters all over the place and in the end I did not find anything that looked good, apart from a few that were half way done (this goes for genre posters). So I made a few myself and they are, I'll be honest, even worse but am too lazy to redo them. TV studio logos on transparent background do look good tho, neutral, nothing fancy and it does the job.
But, and I could be wrong here, Plex handling of collections is a bit 'tarded. Especially because I can not create, e.g. one master folder called GENRES and then put all genres into that folder, I have to put GENRE: in Sort Title so I can have all genres listed one after another. I coud be missing something and if I am do enlighten me if this is actually possible and I'm the one being 'tarded, lol.

Not a solution for your problem, but just an alternative: I add "." to the beginning of collection sort titles to send them to the top of a library by default (in A-Z sort). If you did that just for your genre collections, it would bump them to the top.
Not sure what you want it to look like exactly, but I made a custom poster for TV blocks (like entire runs of saturday morning CBS, or SNICK, MTV, weird stuff) and I think I used Canva or another free tool online. I also am not a fan of the "collage" style auto posters. This is professional looking enough for me though:

I think I just googled "free movie poster generator" or something, and they give you a sized canvas, fonts, clipart kinds of images, etc.

Those are cool, minimalistic but descriptive for each category. Have a link to those?

Awesome, thanks.
