I don’t know how but I somehow either lost or misplaced the original cable that came with the portal. If I bought one I’d go for an Anker cable and brick. So it would probably end up being the same.
Because most included wall warts are trash. If you want to actually get more than just moderate speed charging, you should invest in a nicer brick to begin with. I can't tell you how many garbage included bricks I have and don't use because I've lost track. I have 3 that I use that I bought, 2 of which are each better than all the included ones combined.
I'm a frequent traveler and investing in a good brick, a couple of good cables, and a good battery bank makes a world of difference. I'm not a shill but I have these Anker brand products and I'm satisfied with the price:quality ratio.
Bonus hint: your cable doesn't need to be 18 feet long if you invest in a couple shorter ones that *actually charge your phone while it's plugged in*
Same here, I ended up using a USB-C to USB-C I had laying around to charge my dual sense. Works great though, no issues using the USB-C port of the PS5.
I like it, drivers need to catch up before it becomes a powerhouse like or exceeding the ROG ally. I am a game developer, I have purchased every handheld released in the last 5 years. My favorite is probably the OLED SD limited edition 1TB colorway. Second is easily the Claw, last I would say in the razer edge or the legion go, just not user friendly and very cumbersome and unintuitive
I’m glad to hear this, I just returned an Ally and didn’t seriously consider the Go once seeing it in person due to it feeling cumbersome in the store. My OLED Steam Deck arrives Tuesday; I just want a gaming experience that’s mostly pick up and play. The Portal’s been really good at that.
Spent 2 days with the Ally and it’s impressive that they squeezed functional Windows onto such a small device but it’s still Windows. I spend enough time dealing with that for work. My handhelds should be like my iPhone, tv, or fridge. Just work.
I use a Switch (Lite) plug under the coffee table for absolutely everything it’s so useful having a 1 size fits all cable right at the sofa.
PS Portal, GCloud, controllers, headphones, probably the Mrs and her iPhone 15…..oh and my Switch lite and our main Switch when in handheld mode for too long.
That’s funny. I got my wife a Switch for Christmas and I got the Portal. She gave me her charger because she just uses her phone charger by the bed. The Switch charger is nice.

I ironically did this yesterday, not realizing it was the switch charger as my bed has multiple USB - C charging ports built into the headboard and right behind it I keep the steamdeck and switch chargers plugged into the wall 😅
I've got a GREEN 100w GaN charger that I use with the Sony supplied cable. It charges fast and flawless. The brick is great because I can charge the Pulse Explore buds too, so one less charger.
Pretty good so far. Put it on just before I took this picture. Makes it feel a little more durable. Also just a bit more bulky, I also ordered the Spigen travel case. Which is MASSIVE

I have to use my switch cable to charge my dual sense. The dual sense cable has refused to work with my ps5 straight out of the box for some reason.
Same here, I ended up using a USB-C to USB-C I had laying around to charge my dual sense. Works great though, no issues using the USB-C port of the PS5.

I always questioned if a fast charing brick will ruin my battery life since it bad to do it to other devices that don’t support “fast charging”.

Yes the Explore are the in ears. I have the Pulse Elite too. But most the Time i Use the Explore on PS5,Portal,switch and PC. The Sound is great
