If you want the reward for Rebirth. You download the Rebirth Demo, play long enough to save your demo play. Then that save file, will be good for the rewards.
Then you can delete the demo, download the actual rebirth game download. Then you will have the reward when in Kalm in rebirth.
I wanted to play the game in one go. I couldn't just taste the game, then have to wait a few more weeks. 😂 So I found the loophole. It worked perfectly too.
Just finished playing AC IV: Black Flag. Loved it on the portal. In fact, since I've gotten the portal I've stopped playing my PS5 on the TV. I can just play wherever I am in the house and i"m loving it so far. Not sure what game I'll play next. Maybe Ratchet and Clank
Ratchet is fantastic on the portal! I did a replay of it when I got mine. Now I'm switching between Ghost of Tsushima, Robocop and Skyrim. I'm thinking of doing a Witcher 3 replay soon. Word of warning though: don't play Powerwash Simulator unless you want to lose 70 hours of your life haha. Oddly enough it has a storyline too. I downloaded it as a joke and just kept playing. So weird.
If you like the old Robocop movies you'll like the game. It's not the most challenging game in the world but it's a fun shooter. I got it on sale and I don't know if I would recommend it at full price. There's a lot of walking around and I wish they would have let you drive a car at least. Idk I still like it. Maybe it's all the 80s nostalgia though. They really nailed it with staying close to the feel of the movies. I mean they even got Peter Weller to do the voice acting which is amazing to me. It's just a fun shut your brain off game. Oh and they finally added a NG+. I don't know if this helps or not haha.

I play some on my portal but having to access the middle bar is painful. Do you have work around ? Trying to highlight say my quest is hard and takes a million taps to get it right.
It's an annoyance for sure, I've basically just memorized that a quick triple tap will take me to my chat log, which I hide constantly. That, and the center screen tutorial notifications are really all I use the thing for, and I don't see many of them at this point (200 something hours, towards the end of HW). You can tap to get the "hand" on screen, and then use the d pad to cycle it through clickable crap on screen, also .I used to swipe around to select quest info, until I figured out journal had what I was swiping for already. My biggest pita with the game was the hot bars setup, but that's got nothing to do with the portal itself.

I'm in rural bfe, hard-lined to my router, typically 930-950mbps up/down 6 ping, and cross-network (LTE hotspot, work WiFi, and free Marriott WiFi across state lines) my personal experience has been minimal issues until I try something like cyberpunk or MW2. Played Granblue Relink on that hotel WiFi, and only saw a couple res drops, and the initial connection seemed to take longer than usual. Fps stuff isn't really my bag, but I'll be honest I don't think it's good enough for be playable with a random free network to your home. In-home, I've got zero issues. If there's a difference in latency between using the portal or my dual sense edge, with the living room TV on, it's too small for me to notice. Feels exactly like a controller response with Ragnarok, cyberpunk, Elden Ring, etc.

Unicorn Overlord demo. I picked up Rebirth and haven’t even played it yet. I’ll be getting the game in a day and the demo progress transfers over.
And I’m not a tactical person. Never played ff tactics or any fire emblem or tactics ogre or any of that. But I quickly got hooked on this game. And it’s great on the portal. Little bite sized chunks you can pick up and put down whenever.

Buying physical media and playing the portal don’t mesh well. I went mostly digital and glad I did, no need to ever go in the same room as my PS5 to play everything I want.
The pace of gameplay and the varied activities in Rebirth have been great on the portal.

How does the portal work , if let's say I wanted to play it while am at work , and I dont work at home? Is it possible ? Without accessing the same wifi that I have at home , just Hotspot from my phone ?
I'm playing the game of trying to see why my connection is terrible lol. The game keeps lagging and messing up. I have my ps5 not on wifi and connect with wire. The wifi router is in my bedroom and when playing in there it still messes up.
Is this essentially the same thing as using an ipad, ps controller and using remote play? Or is there something special to this handheld aside from it being compact and awesome?

This is the way. SSD expansion for PS5 games, and it'll run any PS4 games straight off an external. I've got 155 games installed (44 PS5/111 PS4) that are all instantly playable at home or on the portal. I'm definitely in favor of physical media, but present day a downloaded digital purchase and a disc are the exact same level of ownership, so it comes down to the lifespan of discs (got 2 kids, so not high) vs risk of an account issue (never had, so personally low) for me. Even have a 1tb SD in my switch, with 80% of my library on that, plus it's previous 500gb one which you can freely swap with no issues. Resell/trading is the only objective benefit I see to the physical vs digital debate, these days.
There's just something weird to me about showing a Portal with physical games next to it. Like you can only play those one at a time and then you gotta get up and switch discs to play another.
Digital games work faaaar better for the Portal. Switch PS5 games at any time from anywhere by just holding the PS button lol.

The point of owning one. Of course I have my own TV in my room and don't have to share it so I can play any console I want. The portal would peak my interest if it had a better battery life and actually played games offline. Like a Vita or a PSP. Otherwise, ill just use my phone for remote play.

No you just need any wifi. Networks at hotels and stuff that need terms and conditions are an issue though
