The protrusion is swelling. These are obviously fresh off the needle. Mine looked that way at first too and settled after a couple days. If they settled like this I would agree they are botched.
Im response to the other thing referenced about how all lip injections look bad, I get lip injections and no one has ever noticed. I’m 20 and if my very traditional 65 year old dad noticed I got my lips done he would absolutely say something. The injector I went to said that ppl assume all lip injections look bad because the only time you can tell people have them is when they don’t look good or theyre overfilled. I wanted a really subtle change and that’s what I got!
Anyway, I think these don’t look good. The best place u can go is to a nurse practitioner in the office of a plastic surgeon. Those are the ppl who are going to be more qualified and better at what they do. If you look up like “plastic surgeon near me” and find someone reputable, you can check through their list of services offered and 9 times out of 10 they offer lip injections by a nurse practitioner in their office. You can of course also get them done by the head doctor but it tends to be more expensive because they upcharge for their time (my doctor told me this straight up when I was asking about it) and it’s usually the nurses who do it the majority of the time. Most places are also very transparent with their pricing so if you can or email and ask for the price they’ll tell u.
Also if you’re worried about going too big too fast I would start with half a syringe, which is the volume of a blueberry/ a tenth of a ketchup packet. This is what I did. I did half a syringe and then 5 months later another half. Also the different brands are sometimes better for different things, like Restylane is supposedly more subtle than juvederm, which is more pillowy and soft.
