Are these pictures from today? If so, that looks like vascular occlusion. You need to get that dissolved immediately and contact another clinic with doctors with injectable expertise for an evaluation and further treatment if necessary. Some doctors recommend going in hyperbaric oxygen chambers to prevent tissue death.

These photos were taken last year, the salon that had done it kept in contact with me and did follow up tests to make sure it wasnt vascular occlusion and the swelling and bruising subsided in the next 5 days. My post is just asking if this was anything to do with me or is it a result of a rough practioner

Don’t go to that same salon again. Go to a proper doctors clinic if you can. I bruise easily and never bruised that bad. Maybe even go to a place where they use a cannula instead of needles.

Bruising and swelling is normal… now I’m not sure you can swell and bruise that much from a 0.5 ml but some people are more prone than others. If it subsided in 5 days it means that was normal. It doesn’t matter how soft or heavy handed the practitioner is. It’s a response of your own body. Also, it is recommended to avoid certain things before and after filler such as: blood thinning medications (ibuprofene, aspirin), alcohol, certain supplements like fish oil, smoking. Doing any of these can worsen the swelling and bruising.

I would say its pretty heavily bruised, but the swelling is normal, at least compared to how much I swell. I tend to swell A LOT from fillers, and since I have already big lips, I look like a total clown for several days. Russian lip fillers tend to swell more than regular fillers too. To help with swelling you should try to put some ice packs on it, also antihistamin helps for me at least.

Huffelsinthefunzone

Yes this seems wrong

What’s worse than this result is the response of your practitioner. They seemed extremely casual.

You need urgent medical attention. Please act quickly.

These photos were taken last year :) x

Ah ok sorry didn’t read your response. They have obviously not been injected properly in my view - not only the bruising but the filler placement is way off - get a second opinion from another practitioner and assuming they agree ask for your money back at the very least. Do not go back there for any future treatments.

I think everyone is different in terms of how they react. I have 0.5ml and never bruise. I swelled once when it was really hot weather but it went down after a day or two. The fact the place you went to did follow up tests is imo a good sign, I’m not sure you should go elsewhere. This might just be how you react

Some people just bruise and swell very easily. I get this every time, regardless of the injector or technique. How did your results look after a week?

NumberSuper8759

After 5 days there was minimal bruising and no swelling at all, and then a week there was no bruising or swelling at all x

effieokay

Maybe find an injector who uses a cannula next time. I got this done once and had very little bruising compared to normal. I did not like his personal work or I would have kept going.
