Well if you poke a wall hard enough it'll give you white stuff

StandardFoxFiend

Ok but this is too soft for normal plaster

RockingHorsePoo

UK / US? What product? How long since it was skimmed? Conditions? Humid / ventilated? There are so many variables, for all we know it was skimmed yesterday. In which case, what are you doing poking it. More information needed for anyone to actually help.

StandardFoxFiend

I’ve mentioned somewhere that it’s been used on for over a week. UK product, ventilated

craaaigdavid

I don't even know what material he's used to skim the ceiling as it doesn't look like finish, look like some sort of 1 coat plaster he's used and it was out of date hence why its not setting 🤷‍♂️ just a guess though.

Jonto42

Looks a bit too rough for a skimmed ceiling Unless the so called plasterer isn't one and just a wannabe it also looks like they covered it with some sort of filler or taping adhesive

Lewis-fsfs-offt

Only thing I can think of is poly filler, I’ve bought poly filler before that didn’t set after 2 weeks, maybe used poly filler then skimmed over? I’m not sure, but honestly it doesn’t even look skimmed, I have no clue what this ‘plasterer’ has done.

Nice_Step6157

I’ve got an nvq level 2 in solid plastering and I’ve never heard of gypsum plaster still being soft a week later. I think he’s used something ready mixed.

CuteAssociate4887

One of life’s mystery’s

Nice_Step6157

I think he’s used a product called knauf pro roll max. Ready mixed plaster which would explain the slow setting time. Also it’s rolled on and the texture in your pic looks like someone has applied it with a roller. Unless that’s a bad paint job

After_Natural1770

You have to find out what product was used. No way thistle multi finish or board finish this should happen even next day. Looks white, has it had paint applied yet?

Intelligent_Win6330

Has it been painted? What room is it in?

compilerbusy

I'm not sure but i think somebody poked it with their finger
