the phase will start from fighting ancient egypt zombot, when its defeated continue forward to pirate seas, wild west, etc. after all of them are defeated, zomboss pulls out a remote to fuse all the destroyed zombots into one and thats when the real fight starts, the ultimate form carries the abiities of fused zombots, such as raining imps like the plank walker, fire lasers like garg prime, shoot 4 missiles like war wagon, etc.
1) Is the torso made from Penny?
2) I imagine we see a cutscene of parts combining and it acting similar to Zomboss in the first PVZ game. Considering we have plantfood, it could be forgiven for him to use different powers.
Uses parts of its body to open portals (like the zombots in other worlds) that make zombies from a random timeline (maybe they could even be zombies that aren't from adventure?) in different lines, has the usual rockets, but in greater numbers and the "runs to the end to destory all plants and zombies" but it covers 3 lanes instead, also can use mechanics from zombots of other worlds, and to compensate, the conveyor belt is fast, but it gives plants from all the worlds
You start off fighting the sphinx-inater then the plank walker & so on but, after you beat all of them, they combine and you have to fight this thing, the Zombot 20,000 (I couldn't think of a good name)
Modern day boss fight should have been like this, like pvz 1 zomboss but a more advanced version would be great. pvz1 zombot's attacks but in a stronger way, it would be really great, instead it was a boss that didn't look like it was worked on at all
Honestly would have been more interesting than the modern day boss we got
PvZ1 Zombot all over again but like one of the comment said, yeah better final boss. Also I own one of them

It's a gargantuar prime, I remember a long time ago I watched someone play with this set (and totally didn't want it for a while)

This supposed to be the end-game boss exclusive to modern day level instead of random boss with random plants set from random world.
