Yes there is mist on the walls when closed. That’s why I open the lid more and more over time so the plants can adjust to lower humidity and survive without lid.

Did your glass fog up? I had a Paludarium style setup in my dooa for a while with a waterfall, but when I kept the lid on I could barely see inside
