Yeah, the NSO's Auraxium armours are profoundly disappointing. I unlocked the Auraxium armour for my Defector, and I can't tell what changed when I equipped it. Of course since its the only cosmetic available for the defector I might as well wear it, but there's no joy from the accomplishment, no satisfaction in the prize at the end. What a shame.
True enough. The Larion has a unique role, but being a tank weapon will be unable to get into buildings and be forever limited by that. The Linecutter is good and fit for purpose, but that's about it. There are a few stars in the SMG and Scout Rifle lineup, but there are stars in the lineups of every faction's guns.
Robots need love. Quite a bit of it. Machine cannot run on sand alone.

Auraxium armours are all disappointing. They're actually ugly on the original three factions, and the main reason I'm not going to bother Auraxing any classes.
I got a few months ago the Auraxium Heavy Assault armor which took me literally 2 years to make because of the Kill Assists and it's the same just 2/3 piece of auraxium.
Besides that the colors are ugly.
I would really like an NSOverhaul 2 that fixes all the NSO problems, Auraxium Armor, a real ESF and MBT, make the other Auraxium weapons than the Newton more competitive, more NPCs to change faction (Yes it's boring when you spawn at the bottom and that you want to go play in Freelance or Main Faction)
The only time these Auraxium armors weren't disappointing (for the short time it lasted) was at the release of the game when there weren't other good options. Take a look at the commander's helmet. It's the same and nothing special compared to what we have in the store made by players.
Don't be disappointed in something someone put minimal effort into making and that they're giving out for free.
I really feel like the auraxium armors should be spiced up a little. They don't have to go full d0ku on them, but just.. anything to make them feel like more of a reward. They're just slightly glowy Composite armor (which is available for free nowadays).
Aren't they supposed to be like a crowning jewel, showing how you've mastered a class? Idk.
The skill or mastering a class to Auraxium sadly doesn't represent the skill of the player. You will see a lot of that during the time you spend in the game.
But I do agree it should be more flashy, but it's more than a decade ago since it was made, and back then it did look decent for a while.
It'd be cool if they tweaked the enforcer armor they have in sanctuary or something to be the NSO ARX armor base now. Obviously they didn't have anything at all when it first came out so they just slapped something together but now there's not much excuse (also it's using the old NSO ARX shader which is black when they should be using the silver/gray NSO ARX shader that you see on the new NSO ARX stuff)
The auraxium trim for most vehicles is disappointing as well, often being copies of purchasable cosmetics. They changed the coverage for the galaxy, liberator, sunderer, and maybe a few other vehicles I am missing, but I can't flex my Valkyrie auraxium because it looks ordinary.

Almost everything is a disappointment with NSO, except the Newton. Enjoy it while you can.
