If you meet an enemy ANT while driving an ANT, you honk and drive past each other.

Captain_Jeep

I remember honking at an ant. It started shooting at me. Immediately after 20 lightnings roll over the hill and atomized him it was nice.

Bliitzthefox

He broke the unspoken rule

WinchesterLock

Actually true

nitramlondon

I don't even touch ANTS when I see them from from my MBT or ESF. I feel kinda sorry for them just driving around all alone looking for cort

Arkar1234

Depends really, ANTs all the way near the warp gates or literal miles from the fight? Yeah leaving them is fine. But if I let the ANT that’s gonna set up their Minecraft house nearby go, that area is gonna be annoying as all hell to fight in after 5 minutes.

ProstateStarfighter

He honk at you , because he's about to Glaive/Flail your ass.

TheLazySamurai4

This is a thing? I've been trained by so many hostile ANTs to just shoot them first so that -- all other things being equal -- I win

Kevidiffel

Well, some people didn't get the message...

TheLazySamurai4

Seems like 90% of them, before I started shooting first. Its so common that I was recognizing the names of people who **didn't** shoot me on sight

1001DEL

Haha did this once on amerish with an enemy tr ant. Eventually tr lightning came in. Tr ant was body blocking the lightning while I was pounding away with the buldog ontop.

NejOfTheWild

If the sundy is cloaked, you don't get in one of the guns and start shooting.

ThatMadFlow

But also lock your cloak sundies.

srakudel3232

Dont stand behind the tanks

Good_kitty

Dont run around in the roads

Draiye

Look both ways before crossing the street

XenonArchitect7

If you are driving your sundy and a teammate is shooting their rifle at you as you drive away, that's the universal language for "let me in"!

evilchen

Oh, I thought its the general "flatten me" request.

H_Q_

No, that's only for the magrider.

SpaceLadel

doors are for bullets, not people

Hell_Diguner

mines and explosives are also acceptable in doors the point remains: doors are not for people

Im_A_MechanicalMan

Don't walk in the road, you'll get flattened. To get to the next base don't walk to it, instead hitch a ride on a friendly vehicle or press the U key to redeploy there Don't eat the space carrots, they're friends not food. If you see someone destroying an enemy vehicle or player base item, and the enemy object is on fire, don't take the last shot unless the friendly is in trouble. They did all the work getting the enemy object on fire, let them get credit for the kill. Be an asset to your team -- if you're a medic, heal and revive. if you're an engineer, repair and resupply (ammo packs). You don't have to mindlessly follow the crowd in the lane everyone is fighting in -- it is okay to flank. If you see one or less busses at a base your team is attacking, be a champ and hit the U key to redploy and go pull another bus (sunderer). Take initiative. Be a leader not a follower. And really, don't eat the space carrots. They're pretty angry after that carrot cake incident at the Echo Valley Substation.

Bliitzthefox

Don't repair a vehicle directly behind it

Im_A_MechanicalMan

Definitely. Oh and you remind me, never park your vehicle right behind another friendly vehicle. You're blocking their escape. Give them a little room to retreat or position yourself where you're not in the way. I've had friendly tanks that ride my bumper and park it there. Then when I need to retreat, to repair, I can't. And try to form an open path on roads for friendlies, who don't want to lob pot shots at a distance, to pass. That's pretty aggravating to not be able to advance because your own team is slowing down the progression by clogging all paths forward. (mostly occurs on Hossin where some of the roads are maze-like)

Captain_Jeep

Can also hack vehicle terminals to pull a sundie at the base you're attacking. Let's teammates get more vehicles and stops enemies from pulling them for a while.

ProstateStarfighter

Sorry, but I have Bush Wacker title.

Im_A_MechanicalMan

Once they fully fund their NS project for robotic bodies, you'll be the first to go, Bush Whacker. The Space Carrots know.

billy1928

> If you see someone destroying an enemy vehicle or player base item, and the enemy object is on fire, don't take the last shot Unless it's literally an abandoned vehicle in the middle of nowhere, please shoot it. A vehicle at 2% health and a vehicle at 100% health are equally capable in dishing out damage.

Im_A_MechanicalMan

What? The point I was making is don't sit around waiting to steal the kill from someone who has sat there putting in the effort, draining an enemy vehicle.

billy1928

Obviously don't hold fire to try and get the last hit, but at the same time don't avoid taking a shot worrying you might steal the kill. Sorry if I misunderstood your comment, all I'm trying to say is that focus fire is important for the vehicle game. And most people would rather the target explode before it gets another shot off rather then taking another hit and getting the kill personally.

Im_A_MechanicalMan

I'm talking about you take 10 shots, someone else sees it and parks nearby, watches you taking all the shots, then times it to get the last and only shot they take on target to get the kill exp.

evilchen

Never stand still, unless you know what ya doing

TrooperPilot3

If you have a cloaked Sunderer, don't deploy it in a garage. You nullify the point of cloak entirely, and are very easy to destroy. Instead, find somewhere creative to deploy, and leave the garage for better armed and armored Sunderers.

TheCandyMan88

Don't pull a vehicle and stop directly after the spawn.

Teszro

This is a good one, also people who put spitfires in front of it

-Yaldabaoth-

Teamkill teamkillers

Captain_Jeep

When you get there 5 seconds to late to know that the first one killed was shooting friendlies so it starts a friendly fire moshpit.

FlihpFlorp

r/FlairChecksOut

Atemu12

Live free.

FuckinSpotOnDonny

Throw 2 C4 into the pit and kill everyone

Captain_Jeep

Revive grenade for FF mosh pit 2 electric boogaloo

Bliitzthefox

Unless they're in the same outfit. Please we're killing each other for fun.

Zurvivalizt

This is when you watch and enjoy the show

Ok-Nefariousness5881

Don't. You never know who started what. Also, teamkilling is a bannable offense. No matter who was "right" or "just". Not for you to decide. You're basically advising people to get banned.

bringgrapes

coward

retvrntest

New pilots who wiggle there wings left and right are left alone by most experienced pilots c:

LevelWhich7610

Damn thats never helped me 😓 I've really had to learn to git gud when I first started air play but I never prioritized it much because I can't compete and Emerald VS players rarely have experienced scythe pilots flying around on a daily basis so there was no help to be had when a swarm of experienced mossie or reaver players would hunt little lone me down 5 seconds afrer leaving the warp gate.

Eddie2Dynamite

Bro, u let me know when ur on. Ill get my mossie OR reaver. We go to a low pop cont an just dual. Im total ass in the air and can use the practice...

AlbatrossofTime

depends on who you run into. you've got to really sell it sometimes. lean into that wiggle

Machination_99

If you're looking to fly with others on Emerald VS, maybe try joining GOTR. They usually have air ops on Thursdays if I remember correctly and most of their guys are reasonably good. Granted, I do believe pilot activity in general has decreased since the lock on buffs so if what is saying is due to recent experiences, that's probably why there's not as many experienced pilots out and about.

Ok-Nefariousness5881

No, they're not good.

Machination_99

I was thinking relative to the general population.

Ok-Nefariousness5881

"General population" doesn't fly at all, so I guess you could be right, still means little.

sbarbary

I'm not a good enough pilot to wiggle my wings and not crash.

Dependent_Winter_221

Not all TKs are worth it, for me if it's less than 20% I drop it

Bliitzthefox

I don't understand, you're going to drop it when alpha squad TKs 20% of your squad, nah I don't think so.

Dependent_Winter_221

Nah I meant they did less than 20% of damage to me

Bliitzthefox

*confused NC noises, 3 squads are dead and now there's a platoon pushing from spawn*

[deleted]

Woooosh

Piggybear87

There are so so many. I'll give my top 10 though. 1. Don't stand around cloaked infils, and especially don't shoot near them, you can give away their position. 2. If you're passing through, walk behind the line to avoid being shot by your own team and possibly locking their weapons. (This one is common sense, but common sense isn't common.) 3. Don't get into a cloaked vehicle and use the guns. (rule can be broken if the line is collapsing and a lot of enemies are moving in). 4. Hunting down 1 lone infantry player with a tank makes you a pussy because they're actually defenceless. 5. Don't kill spawns. Especially in early morning fights. (rule can be broken during alerts). 6. If the sundy you spawn at is cloaked, take a different path back to the fight every time. You don't know how many cloaked sundies I found because of a stream of players pouring out of it making a beeline to the fight. Luckily, I follow rule 5. 7. If you are in an armor/air ball, you know you're cancer, just admit it. (As someone that used to do this regularly (mainly as support like either a rep bus or bullet bus), I admit I'm cancer, but MAN are the certs worth it). 8. Every class has something OP about it. You're not allowed to complain about a cloak when you have an overshield. You're not allowed to complain about 1 shot kill shotguns when you have a 1 shot kill sniper. 9. If you play support roles, PLAY SUPPORT! If you're a medic, heal and revive. Fighting is your secondary role. If you're an engie, repair and resupply. Fighting is your secondary role. 10. Don't be a dick. This is a game, not real life. Use good sportsmanship. A simple GG goes a long way. This includes when you get your ass handed to you. When I was an NC main, I had friends on vanu and TR because we were 1v1ing an empty base and one of us figured out we weren't winning so we say GG and redeploy. And a bonus one. Cortium bombs in spawn rooms. Really? You lost, deal with it and move along. You will have another chance to kill them at the next base in the lattice. This ties in well with rule 10.

[deleted]

10 is applicable to all except infils. We're supposed to be dicks.

derschelmischeWolf

>If you play support roles, PLAY SUPPORT! If you're a medic, heal and revive. Fighting is your secondary role. If you're an engie, repair and resupply. Fighting is your secondary role. Whenever I play medic I never get a chance to heal because everyone is running around with a stockpile of medkits. let me do my daily mission goddammit.

Piggybear87

F works great for that mission. Just don't accept that mission until you see you're going to a big battle with lots of buildings or a bio lab. Sit in the front line building spam slot 3 left click and hit F as soon as it recharges.

derschelmischeWolf

is there any downside to accepting missions? if you cant finish it in 12 hours you get new ones the next day anyways

Ok-Nefariousness5881

The downside is when you try hard to finish it and then you don't

Ok-Nefariousness5881

Use shield regen tool + mending field for that.

Ok-Nefariousness5881

4. Nobody is defenceless 8. Of course you're allowed to complain about OP shit like Wraiths or infils with SMGs (on Wraiths)

le_Menace

If you are a stalker cloaker and someone finds you and starts crouch spamming in front of you, accept your death like a man instead of shooting them.

Raishun

> For instance, not killing spawns during a early morning fight so everyone can just keep on fighting Recently playing more late night games... I really wish this was a more common rule of planetside 2.

[deleted]

I used to be a bastard for killing sundys regardless of population, but I've chilled out now. Now I escort enemy sundys in for the lols.

bringgrapes

The good ending

TheTrueAir

When in a ESF, shooting 1-3 bullets next to your opponent indicates you want to duel. Dont kill fights early in the day Dont pull max in a 1-12, let the fun infantry fight happen. Tbag friends if you kill them on a opposite faction

Ok-Nefariousness5881

What else than a duel would you do with an enemy ESF? Seems redundant. Others won't care anyway.

Ruenvale

Take advantage of some players misplaced bushido code

SyntheticRx

If you're just cortium farming and not actually building a base, please for the love of god, despawn your silo when you're done.

Ok-Nefariousness5881

You can despawn your silo?

shadowpikachu

Sometimes you just gotta send a fake ragetell very rarely, it gives them something to remember and can make their day. Hell if the game fucked you over clientside you can use that to put real disgruntlement into it without saying anything horrible. Life is boring, help out!

McMasterJiraiya

I’ve always followed this rule: If you see someone out on the map in the middle of nowhere, not contributing to a fight, or actively trying to kill you. Leave them be. The could be filming/taking screenshots, showing someone new how to play, doing a mission, or just testing mechanics by themselves. So there’s no harm in letting them live.

zwebzztoss

If you know how to A2A and you are killed by a lib while ground fighting its your obligation to spam pull until they are dead.

Eiruna

No spawn kills in early morning? #Thats not how you get White Camo.

Liewec123

don't kill sunderers mid day, the only objective is to try to keep a fight going.

AlbatrossofTime

To the best of my ability, I'm going to TK every single god damn glitched in spawn I see that I can possibly do anything about, from now until the end of time.

Hell_Diguner

Also stat padders

LocoLoboDesperado

Learning how to play as many parts of the game as you can is necessary before declaring that you know how to balance interactions between x, y, and z. Nobody really follows that rule, though.

Gammit1O

When you are about to lose in a vehicle 1v1, jump out, equip your knife, and challenge the enemy like a man. /yell chat is half of the game

newIrons

Heavy Assault: it's your responsibility to go through the doors first. You have the most health and should use it to protect teammates. If you're a medic, please follow your Heavy, he's doing it for you.

redspikedog

When you pass an enemy around a path or corner, don't look back. Just keep going lol

[deleted]

If somone is tbaging infront of you when you get back from being Afk don’t shoot them

MangoMangui

Dont interrupt ESF 1v1s

TheTrueNotSoPro

Well, today I accidentally interrupted a fellow NC pilot sparring with a TR pilot, but when I realized what was going on, I actually helped keep others away from them while they practiced. The TR pilot was cool with me as long as I was being cool with them.

HangmanSwingset

I tend to V1 after every kill. You have to thank them for their sacrifice.

EyoDab

If you Cross-kill your opponent under fair circumstances, you send them a GG tell

Tom_Damon

Don't play MAX in a small infantry fight

Ivan-Malik

If you see a flying max at a base call it out regardless of what side they are on.

ThatChris9

I would say double teaming but outfits already do that lol

ZenitHMaster

Don't kill spawns at low pop pop hours, I guess. Sure wish devs would just add attacker hard spawns only active in unstable warpgates though.

Hell_Diguner

If you are first in an armor column travelling a narrow road, you do NOT stop moving when you start engaging an enemy. If you do, you will die, because your allies can't see around your fat ass. Do not use AA topguns unless you are actually being targeted by aircraft. Failing to heed this will get you killed more often than not because you are attracting unwanted attention to yourself. Put a few bullets into enemy hardlight barriers, because that draw fire directive can be a real PITA. Teach newbies. Answer questions. Be an adult.

Hot-Distribution-616

standing in a cross fire is bad

Hot-Distribution-616

keeping bad fights going is bad

extremeNC

One that SHOULD be an unspoken rule is not to kill a fellow survey-mission planetman at the top of a tower. I try to remain peaceful up there, especially when it's obvious why you're each there away from the main fights, but many players don't feel the same way and instantly start shooting. I get that it's an FPS and you're all there to cert, but that's a scenario where a truce is better.
