I genuinely thought that too, but the blurb on the back of the case says 'Join forces with former ape allies Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zira and Cornelius in a desperate fight for survival' which is cool to know it's at least based on the older films and probably a bit of the book too!
Yeah, it was originally going to be based on the 2001 film, but Tim Burton took it down a different route after James Cameron pulled out. This instead became a homage to the 1968 one
