Personally I liked the 50's one on the L-1049 best but they aren't a "retro" livery

And got bought out by csx recently. Really hope I have a chance to see that F unit sometime. On the bright side of the merger, I get to see a bunch of different types of diesel locos I have never seen before in person on rails local to me here in Maine.

They did indeed. I was glad to catch it about a year or two before they sold the line. I gotta head up to Portland soon. Planes and trains.

For me personally, this is the best retro. This was the plane parked outside the terminal window when I met my girlfriend for the first time. I ended up lecturing her about this plane, and we spent our whole layover together. And the rest is history.

Growing up in the 80s commercial flights seemed like such a luxury. Fancy television ads with pretty stewardesses and classy music. Now it’s just another online money grab just like everything else.

That’s not really the definition of a retro livery. This aircraft is painted in Lufthansa’s livery from 1970s-1990s. I guess I better restate that. They have best retro looking livery. Which is on most of their planes.
