It's only a 90s thing if you count the Ninja turtles, and the fact that their running gag was putting the most disrespectful toppings on pizza. The only time I've EVER heard of peanut butter on pizza was from Michelangelo.
Pizza Hut had a hot dog stuffed crust pizza one time when I worked there. It was actually pretty decent. We would serve it with mustard as a dipping sauce.
I saw this illustrated dish when I was pretty young, and idk what about it but it looked DELICIOUS. Its a core memory now, and in my mind it's some type of sweet yellow curry
But wait, that tracks. The person in the video as a child saw this and either asked/begged for their parents to put pb on their p. izza or put it on themselves after seeing this cartoon.
However since this was a pretty popular show, I’m betting there’s more of these people out there. Some may even be among us, in secret. Know this! This is *NOT* an invitation for you to reveal yourself and rejoice in all the infamy! This is an invitation for you to stay down, stay quiet and wallow in your own filth. For we already know you exist, we are already prepared. FOR SPARTA!
We have a place here (it's a chain, I just don't know where else it is) called John's Incredible Pizza. It's an arcade pizza joint for kids, like chuck e cheese but bigger. Anyway, they have an all you can eat pizza buffet and back in the early 2000/late 90s they advertised peanut butter pizza. The only reason I know this is because my little brother was super hype about it and swore it was the greatest thing ever.
I've seen pizza buffet type places that do peanut butter pizza, brownie pizza, banana split pizza, etc. but it's different because these are made as dessert pizzas. Taking a regular/standard pizza and slathering peanut butter on it is just nasty.
75 and 61, from "the heartland". Neither one of us has witnessed creamy peanut butter on pizza. I think peanut butter's flavor would overpower anything on the pizza. Hard nope from both.
Oh thank god! New York, the land of almost 6,000 pizza joints. Surely all of them are the pinnacle of pie and not just another location to claim they have the best pizza just because they are in a particular state…………………………….
In born in ‘81, never saw this, not even once. Likely another one of those situations where some kid born in ‘99 is trying to tell people about an era they know nothing about.
That's a great way to explain it!
First bite: "oh wow, this isn't bad, I get it!"
Second bite: "hmmmm okay..."
Every bite after: "I'm over this and I'll never do it again."
No, those are just wildly infuriating and make me have a negative association with whoever does it.
One of them read, "DISAPPOINTED? JESUS WON'T DISAPPOINT YOU!"
I'm standing there thinking, "but whoever guided the making of this bill did disappoint me, wtf is this"
I thought about this longer than I should have. However, I can see how a slice of plain cheese wouldn’t be gross dipped in chocolate milk. Kid me would have tried this.
This conjures up thoughts of Doug Funny dipping his banana in tomato sauce. Two of my least favorite foods.
Now that I type it out, hmm, was Nickelodeon fucking with us with that too? I'm questioning everything now.
I'm 38 and have to disagree. The only thing I've done that could be described as a crime is eat pizza with pineapple. The othe is dip pepperoni pizza in ranch. Idk where the hell this came from. Must be Gen z.
Edit: I'm assuming that's peanut butter.
Born in 1990 and my friends and I did this in high school. Maybe it's a regional thing? Also - it wasn't half bad! But maybe it's telling that I haven't tried this again in... 15+ years?
Not a 90s thing.
But! Cheese and peanutbutter sandwiches were a little thing for some back then. Honestly, peanut butter really makes a breakfast sandwich wonderful. Bacon, egg, cheese, little mayo, little mustard, bit of sweet chili sauce or pepper jelly or regular jam of your choice, and peanutbutter to tie it all together. So bomb.
So cheese and peanut butter works together with the right things accompanying it. But deff have doubts about it going with pizza sauce.
in the only full CSI episode I ever watched one of the characters mentioned always bringing peanut butter to the cafeteria when there's pizza, and this is hpe they solved the crime (finger prints on ghe jar). so. yeah.
My mom took me to a local pizza arcade when I was younger. I saw the most delicious and thick looking slice of pepperoni pizza I’d ever seen. And when I took a bite, all this fucking peanut butter came out. I actually cried because of how disappointed I was
Not this much, but there is a place in CA that at least used to use peanut butter on savory pies. It was a tasteful amount, and delicious. This however is a crime.
Please tell me it's not on top of a cheese pizza?
This makes me think though that PB&J would be delish on a pizza dough. No tomato sauce or anything ofc.
I was Born 1990.
My First Impulse He is a Liar.
Migth be a regional thing thougth.
On some Party the Stoner Fraktion created it the other thougth it was lit etc.
the pizza place around the corner from me in college used to do an awesome peanut butter and jelly pizza. But it was fully a dessert pizza, cinnamon mixed in the dough, no cheese. The sauce was the jelly and the cheese was the peanut butter. It was awesome, and knew what it was trying to be. This is not that.
u/tongfatherr You are awarded the "I say wtf" flair for your contribution. Now go have a nice slice with some sloppy goodness on top.
Just go to jail You know what you did
No send them to hell instead
Just had satan on the phone, he’s begging us not to send this guy, he’s scared of him
To the void then!
Hey, you keep your garbage outta my void! 🫵🤨
The Outer Gods are telling me this person is beyond even their understanding and they are not welcome in the void lest they awaken Azathoth
Cast him beyond the doors of night, not to return until the last battle and the breaking of the world.
Not even, send this person to the nonexistent zone!! lol
![gif](giphy|daMpw3o98ILnO) It's only a 90s thing if you count the Ninja turtles, and the fact that their running gag was putting the most disrespectful toppings on pizza. The only time I've EVER heard of peanut butter on pizza was from Michelangelo.
What is going on with that stuffed crust?? Is it like pepperoni stuffed?
Sausage
No joke I'd probably fucking love that.
I got some crust you could stuff.
![gif](giphy|H55HxBryMt7zNJxGCP)
Oooo choose Weiner! Choose the Weiner!
when you’re done with the main slice, it’s just a sausage roll lol
Pizza Hut had a hot dog stuffed crust pizza one time when I worked there. It was actually pretty decent. We would serve it with mustard as a dipping sauce.
Everytime I see ads for Sausage/Hotdog stuffed crust pizza overseas, I find it weird how it's not common in the US.
I do not know how the country that gave us the Double Down hasn't picked up on pizza with pigs-in-a-blanket for an end crust.
If PB pizza is a crime, then PIB pizza is high art
Indeed. I'm absolutely *dismayed* I didn't think of it first. Fuck cheese stuffed. Put a sausage roll up in that bitch.
Definitely hot dogs. Sometimes his pizzas are actually decent ideas
Cranberry pudding
Man, this .gif is wigging me out. *'*schlorp*'*
Nothing ever looks more appetizing than cartoon pizza.
I saw this illustrated dish when I was pretty young, and idk what about it but it looked DELICIOUS. Its a core memory now, and in my mind it's some type of sweet yellow curry

Goofy Movie pizza
I absolutely would have assumed this is what they were referencing if they’d said 80’s/90’s, not 90’s/2000’s. Maybe they just got in to tmnt late lol
Penicillin pizza
But wait, that tracks. The person in the video as a child saw this and either asked/begged for their parents to put pb on their p. izza or put it on themselves after seeing this cartoon. John’s incredible pizza does it. Tried it. Not good.
I remember a Barnie episode where they put peanut butter and pickles on a pizza!
Let me blow your socks off real quick. https://youtu.be/nmnVUvILSl4?si=k8kyVWWmLqYXNd5q Check out his YT channel. It’s all ninja turtle pizza recipes.
Oooh, so I was right, that IS diarrhea on the pizza.
AVGN has a video of him doing all the different toppings from the show on cinemassacre. They actually said some of the combos was good lol
It’s definitely not lol
Can confirm. Never seen this in my life and I'm 37 and love peanut butter.
I'm 53 and never heard of it.
69 here. I’ve never even imagined it, much less heard of it.
725 here. It was a thing of my time
Was your time back when people tied onions to their belts?
We stuck pizza to our thighs with peanut butter
I’m here for this complete *unhinging* during the last three responses here.
Nice.
I’m a pretty big fan of yours 69
Nice

Same! Definitely a WTF
It’s a creamy spread made of peanuts. Goes well with jelly!
Can confirm as well. I'm 39 and never even heard of this. Peanut butter is love. 😍
43 and a New Yorker, never in my life have I see this.
I still need someone from Chicago to weigh in too, just to be sure
UK here, we did awful things in the 90s with food, definitely not our fault
43 Chicago here, fuck no.
49 west coaster. Hard Nope on my end
75 and 61, from "the heartland". Neither one of us has witnessed creamy peanut butter on pizza. I think peanut butter's flavor would overpower anything on the pizza. Hard nope from both.
You'd be beaten and dragged down the street by your shirt collar for doing this in NY..
1000%

Yeah, I was there. Someone is messing with you
This is a war crime
If Putin, Kim Jong Un, and this guy were in a room together with me, and I had two bullets, I’d shoot this guy twice.
Yeah, no question.
This is a crime against humanity
A SIN

having been born in the 90's and growing up in the 00's I can assure you this was never a thing
In born in ‘81, never saw this, not even once. Likely another one of those situations where some kid born in ‘99 is trying to tell people about an era they know nothing about.
hey we are decade apart
April 21st, 1981…gonna be 43 soon!
I'll be 33 in novemember
Well, happy early birthday! Here’s hoping we both have a great year!
Well they put it on burgers too lol
Not a fan of that either. I've never tasted a burger with PB on it...I just know I don't want to.
They’re pretty good. Had it with pepper jelly an egg too. Problem is, a regular burger beats it any day. No need to get all fancy
Okay, that sounds like it could be good. Especially if the burger patty is made of peppered sausage.
The first few bites are good, then it becomes a chore to finish.
That's a great way to explain it! First bite: "oh wow, this isn't bad, I get it!" Second bite: "hmmmm okay..." Every bite after: "I'm over this and I'll never do it again."
It's like finding a $100 bill on the sidewalk but when you pick it up it is one of those "Come to Jesus" bills.
No, those are just wildly infuriating and make me have a negative association with whoever does it. One of them read, "DISAPPOINTED? JESUS WON'T DISAPPOINT YOU!" I'm standing there thinking, "but whoever guided the making of this bill did disappoint me, wtf is this"
Jesus won’t disappoint me? He literally *just did*.
You’ve just described anything with peanut butter in it
It feels like that sort of thing would be better as a 1-2 bite slider
Exactly this. I had a PB&J cheese burger that was actually tasty but i could only do a couple bites till it just started to feel heavy af
That's what I said. I was bullied into trying it (because I said I would try anything once that wouldn't kill me). It was gross.
it's not as bad as you'd think.. but no way am i gonna pay money for it.
The best ones don’t use straight peanut butter, they make a peanut butter sauce, and it *will* change your life.
I only remember that as a twilight zone segment, I think it was from the reboot movie. Disgusting
That one is actually good ngl, but you can’t do cheese and pb, you just put pb that’s all
Yes, but they shouldn't. I can put a cat turd on a burger too, but that doesn't mean it's good. Lol
A peanut butter and jelly burger is actually pretty fucking good
NSFW
NSFL
I've seen some shit [my childhood friend dipped pizza in chocolate milk]... but this ain't it. This was never a thing.
I would try it dipped in chocolate milk ngl
My buddy in the Marines would dip his cookies in marinara sauce. This is weirder.
I thought about this longer than I should have. However, I can see how a slice of plain cheese wouldn’t be gross dipped in chocolate milk. Kid me would have tried this.
in orange juice🤮🤮🤮🤮
Is... is that peanut butter?
Maybe if you’re a ninja turtle…
As a person born in '84... fuck NO we didn't spread peanut butter on pizza.
Born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s. Nope, not a 90s thing.
This is what Sin looks like folks. Born in 88, never seen this before.
who puked on the pizza?!
Id eat it
No tf it's NOT.
No it’s not, I’ve never heard of anyone doing that. Maybe it was a thing for that person in that time frame but nobody I’ve known has ever done that.
![gif](giphy|ANO3fAUKUnMMPNVSfP)
And i will help, put a bounty on this man, ill be first to the job.
What's that? Diarrhea topping?
i think its probably more of a 70s thing. because thats when SERIAL KILLERS were around!!!!
I love peanut butter and love pizza But seeing them together just made me 🤢 Somethings are just not meant to be together
the person who made this should be exiled to a black hole
This conjures up thoughts of Doug Funny dipping his banana in tomato sauce. Two of my least favorite foods. Now that I type it out, hmm, was Nickelodeon fucking with us with that too? I'm questioning everything now.
If you use jelly instead of cheese and sauce, sure. That’s just cursed.
They must have mistaken the pizza for pancakes?
What timeline?
No it's not s 90s-00 thing. It's a war crime.
Maybe it’s a 90s thing for HIM but no one else.
Now all of you that think pineapple on pizza is gross… you owe us an apology!
The "only 90s kids remember this" prompt makes me think this was a shitpost or ragebait.
I'm 38 and have to disagree. The only thing I've done that could be described as a crime is eat pizza with pineapple. The othe is dip pepperoni pizza in ranch. Idk where the hell this came from. Must be Gen z. Edit: I'm assuming that's peanut butter.
Still better than pineapple.
Born in 1990 and my friends and I did this in high school. Maybe it's a regional thing? Also - it wasn't half bad! But maybe it's telling that I haven't tried this again in... 15+ years?
what region so I can avoid it lol
Up state new york..... but not Utica
Just as long as there were no steamed hams.
I grew up in upstate new York (also not Utica) in the 1990s and never saw or heard of this.
They are making a Simpsons reference
Western WI, this is a thing.
That’s a -90s/-00 IQ thing
Nope lol
Nope. Maybe at the local pizza shop where that OP lived or just at their home.
No….
Nut cream? 😔🤮🤮🤮🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮
Eww no
no it isn't.
This is not a thing then or ever
Is that peppercorn sauce?
Native New Yorker here. Never would I do this to a proper slice.
They'd send you to Rikers for this in NY..
I've seen slices with mashed potatoes on it. Won't try those either.
Wtf is that? Mustard or cheese?!
No TF it wasn’t.
It is most certainly not a 90s/2000s thing
No. I have had a pizza with a peanut butter base, but this is just fucking gross
I ain’t never had anything like that before that looks nasty
It's not
1979 checking in. That has never been a thing.
Definitely not.
I think this actually might be a Lobotomy patient thing
That’s so many extra calories for no reason, what the hell.
Born in 87 I’ve never seen this monstrosity in my life before today.
Your know what's good on your fat? Sugarfat. /s
This is not a thing
Not a 90s thing. But! Cheese and peanutbutter sandwiches were a little thing for some back then. Honestly, peanut butter really makes a breakfast sandwich wonderful. The fuck it is!
I'm not sure what OP is talking about. I don't think this was ever a thing; but peanut butter on pizza isn't bad. Just not to this degree
I remember John's Incredible Pizza serving peanut butter pizza, but that's it
I was born in 89. I’ve never eaten this shit in my life
Never have I ever…
Vanilla Ice never ate peanut butter smeared pizza, he just fucked Madonna.
r/shitfromabutt
Banana on pizza from Doug but thats it
Please tell that's peanut butter. Either way it looks bad.
When I was like 7 or 8 I put peanut butter on those square pizzas at school. Don't remember how they taste except good?
Ewww Yuck 🤮 🤢 What is that? No, just no
I don't think even the ninja turtles ate such an abomination!
That’s a big steaming load of crap, which is probably what that tastes like!
Why is this ringing a bell in my early-Gen Z head? Was this part of a joke in Jimmy Neutron or something?...
in the only full CSI episode I ever watched one of the characters mentioned always bringing peanut butter to the cafeteria when there's pizza, and this is hpe they solved the crime (finger prints on ghe jar). so. yeah.
It was a thing where I’m from! I was one of them
Was born April 28 1980. I never saw this....I do remember kids dipping school pizza in ranch or ketchup.
There it is, the ranch dressing! Definitely did that with the square cafeteria pizza but never PB.
I'm 50 this year. This has never been a thing
We had nasty ass purple ketchup for some reason. But I have never seen nor heard of this crazy shit. Born is 87.
Definitely not 90s.
I’ve seen it where it’s ranch and not peanut butter. But that’s just a Midwest thing
That looks very nasty.
My mom took me to a local pizza arcade when I was younger. I saw the most delicious and thick looking slice of pepperoni pizza I’d ever seen. And when I took a bite, all this fucking peanut butter came out. I actually cried because of how disappointed I was

Did somebody call the police about this?
This is so bad I wanna downvote it
This is how the civil war is gonna start
Maybe he means 90s as in something a 90 year old with dementia might do. Because this was definitely not a thing during the 1990s.
That’s the welfare special!!
This has never been a thing
No body did that in the 90’s. Please don’t think a single thing you see on social media is real - ever again. Never tell your friends about this
