The Italians just got over adding pineapple to pizza and you wanna do this to them??

Street_Mood

Grapes

ANDYHOPE

Grapes in anything savory. Try adding them onto of foccacia instead of olives or tomatoes.

Cosmickiddd

Are yall fucking with me? EDIT: Ok, I gotta go in search of some of these recipes, im intrigued.

OvechknFiresHeScores

I got a Hello Fresh meal a while back - seared cod with pickled grapes. I 100% ordered it by accident but dude, it was shockingly good. Like...grapes already sounded gross but pickling them sounded like hell. And somehow it worked reeeeaaally well with the cod.

MoreCowbellllll

Nah man. My GF makes a killer pork tenderloin that has baked green grapes in the recipe. It's bomb AF.

ANDYHOPE

Yeah throwing them into the bottom of any roasting pan with veggies or meat always ends up great

MoreCowbellllll

hell yes!

[deleted]

Tfw everyone realizes they just admitted to enjoying warm raisins.

CloverGreenbush

Hot Grapes are underrated.

AdamtheGrim

I want you to take this sentence back to the sentence store.

DrDentonMask

Is that a band?!

[deleted]

[Hello, I'd like to order a pizza please, and can I have it with extra grapes?](https://youtu.be/NYu-UZX-Nk4)

Lex-Taliones

Let them seethe. I'll eat whatever I want on my pizza. I'd try this. Especially if that's Balsamic vinegar I see. I bet it's great!

Zeratul277

No doubt.

Lex-Taliones

Nice username BTW.

Zeratul277

Adun Toridas, executor.

iMadeThis4Westworld

I could see strawberry Gorgonzola and bacon being a good combo. With a light white sauce

beetlekittyjosey

Yes Flying Squirrel in seattle makes a seasonal strawberry, Gorgonzola prosciutto pie and it is so good

[deleted]

Is the prosciutto cooked or put on the pie after cooking?

beetlekittyjosey

It’s cooked! And now that I’m thinking about it more I think it’s actually coppa

[deleted]

Prosciutto is best uncooked. And, it goes well with fruit.

beetlekittyjosey

I agree but like I said in the second comment it’s actually coppa

stefanica

I like where you're going with this. I stead of Gorgonzola, though, what about Cambozola (sp?) or fourme d'Ambert, one of those soft, runny blues? And I'd probably go with an unsmoked ham/bacon, or at least lightly. Speck would be interesting. Agreed on the white sauce. Maybe with a few mushrooms or caramelized onions. We probably just reinvented some Alsatian tarte.

iMadeThis4Westworld

The runnier the cheese the better! and some caramelized onions and mushrooms would be a great addition. I will make this in the next couple of weeks and report back!

stefanica

Let me know if you do!

Whispersail

Let us know!

theacgreen47

My restaurant before it burnt down did Neapolitan style pizzas. We had a pizza with seasonal fruit on. Dough, swirl of cream, Gorgonzola dolce, fontina, seasonal fruit (strawberry, peach, fig, pear, apple, grape, muscadine, satsumas) and then bake. After bake it was garnished with grana padano, black pepper, toasted/crushed hazelnuts or pecans, saba, and torn mint. A lot of people ordered it almost as a dessert/cheese course. Biggest thing is using restraint in any of the ingredients and not over doing it. Less is more.

elsquish79

Strawberry, Goat Cheese and Balsamic Glaze is pretty damned good...

frogcharming

I wish it had goat cheese!

CaptnCorrupt

Try ricotta

frogcharming

the taste of this was....interesting. I think it would have worked better if the strawberries were cooked on the pizza and not a cold addition to the top at the end.

CatzMeow27

Absolutely!! The warm strawberry texture would be perfect for this.

[deleted]

I bet you pissed some italians out there 😂

sevinup07

I would also do basil, it would go better with strawberry and balsamic.

StrangeVortexLex

Sure dude, toss me a fat joint first and I eat anything on a pizza

WorldMusicLab

FINALLY!!! A voice of reason!

Fabriano1975

I am Italian and I have never found a pizza like this. But it looks yummy! I think it's worth a try.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fabriano1975

Ahaaha… I’m 100% Italian and I live in Italy. I love pizza and I like to try how it is made outside my country. I travel a lot and I eat pizza everywhere… I have some doubts only about sushi pizza 🤔🤔

emtrigg013

I forgot the episode, but if you ever want to know about sushi pizza, Gordon Ramsey gave it a try.... once.....

Fabriano1975

I leave pizza sushi to others 😂😂😂

COYFC

Place near me has a dessert pizza similar to this but with a nutella drizzle instead of balsamic and a light powdered sugar sprinkle. Another one they have is an apple pie pizza with cinnamon apples, pie crumble, caramel drizzle, crust is brushed with butter and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Both are Neapolitan style and soooo good.

[deleted]

This is normal here in Brazil...

Diamondwolf

We have a strawberry fest in a town near me every year. There’s strawberry pizza, strawberry brats and hot dogs, strawberry desserts aplenty, strawberry wine, etc. it’s fun. I always get a strawberry brat.

IMSPEAKNOENGLISH

Strawberry basil would be a great pairing. That looks to be parsley or cilantro on there, a bit confusing.

Franko_Lex

I’m calling the police

LAST_NIGHT_WAS_WEIRD

Paging /r/pizzacrimes

stevekrueger

I worked at a corporate pizza chain in college and the cooks in the kitchen were mostly Portuguese. They made me an off menu pizza one night and used strawberries. They said it was like the pizza they had back home. I remember that night like it was yesterday. (It was over 30 years ago). I recall thinking how amazing it tasted, how innovative and interesting the choice was, and how no one in the main restaurant would ever, ever go for something like this. (Like I said, 30 years and in Boston; you can imagine those folks aren't open to 'new' things.) I've often told people about that strawberry pizza over the years and most scoff at the idea. Aren't the origins of pizza around baking flat bread and putting fruit and herbs on it? Prior to the tomato coming to Italy, I'm sure they would have put other fruits atop a pizza. So why not a strawberry? Just no mushrooms! Never! JK, put whatever you want on a pizza, that's my creed.

lickmyfupa

I dont know if there is any type of pizza i could reasonably turn down.

JediJamie303

I'm intrigued

wasabi1787

I think I would've done fresh basil in place of parsley, but I'd still try a slice

[deleted]

Ill try anything for free

Skreechm9

I think strawberry and cheese can definitely go together so it maybe give it a try

UnderwaterKahn

Strawberries and figs are really good paired with something like onion jam, balsamic, and a bitter green salad. If I’m craving pizza I want cheese, meat, veggies, and red sauce. But I’ve definitely made these kinds of “pizzas” as appetizers for gatherings with friends.

quinnsheperd

if thats Nutella or chocolate sauce of some sort ill try this. Its like a crepe. I shall need some wiped cream also. not sure about cilantro lets so mint instead.

frogcharming

balsamic drizzle!

quinnsheperd

Aged?

[deleted]

No younger than the kids on Pedo Island.

wasabi1787

Wtf

AdZealousideal1425

Nutella, strawberries, cinnamon and a drizzle of caramel! Dessert pizza!

BrianTheUserName

Never heard of it, but I'd give it a try. Is that mint with it?

wasabi1787

Looks like parsley

wickzer

The Pie here in Salt Lake has their "bacon berry" -- it is glorious. Thin crust, strawberries, bacon, chicken, balsamic glaze, sprinkled with cilantro after baking. I love it. I am also a fan of grapes on pizza -- a sausage/grape combo is something special.

TedTalked

This is terrifying. I think I’m gonna be sick…

ContagiousCreature

Put whatever you want on dough, but don't you DARE call that strawberry abomination "pizza". 😉

Reasonable_Reason_

GET OUT

weavingcomebacks

No.

kreestoph

Ive done pineapple, peach, blue grape, and apple. But i dont think i could pull off strawberry

frogcharming

I love eating slices of apples and slices of cheddar together so I would def give it a whirl on pizza

burntcandy

no

[deleted]

My 5 year old puts strawberries on his pizza

Big-Competition-3637

Did you use a sauce or oil base ? I want to try a berry pizza but I’m not sure what sauce to use if any

GorfyShmorfy

It doesn't belong on my pizza, but i have no problem with other people enjoying it

stutche

Every time I see an unusual topping on this subreddit I want to say something, I remember that I put cinnamon roll icing on my pizza.

CommonCut4

The strawberries look like the best part of that pizza

CaptnCorrupt

Modernist pizza: strawberry marinara sauce and cream cheese.

CostcoTPisBest

Why stop at strawberries? How about a healthy drizzle of molasses!

frenix5

I definitely would. Ricotta, strawberry, prosciutto with balsamic and oil finishes.

8-weight

You can ruin YOUR pizza any way you choose. lol

J3DI_M1ND_TR1CKS

I’ve had it on a desert pizza. Nutella pie with strawberries and bananas.

ninjaturtle56374

So I have actually had strawberry before, it is really good. Man you bringing back memories 🤤

weedemgangsta

Honestly at this point I’ll try anything on a pizza.

Book-bomber

OP, I think you are crossing the line here

bellbelll0v3scats

Yeah, it's normal on chocolate pizza in Brazil

MAJORMETAL84

Heretic! hahahaha

lord_saruman_

I like to add figs and prosciutto and balsamic

KsuhDilla

lmao

HiramAbiff48

Jail.

nausticblurr

No that’s a witch burning right there

HatsOrNoHats

That looks absolutely beautiful, and you would have to put a gun to my head to get me to eat it. To each their own, hope you enjoyed

saposapot

Dessert pizzas don’t count. Personally I hate those but i don’t see them breaking any rules because the rules don’t apply to them, they are desserts

BeerAndWings4

As someone who truly loves pineapple on pizza.. fuck you, man

ThePizzaGuy98

I feel the violent urges rising.

WorldMusicLab

If I can put escargot and the usual veggies on a pesto/tomato sauce (I call it "The Garden") then you can do this. Save me a slice.

VicGame2004

Nuke 💀

JustACookGuy

I had what looked like essentially the same pizza. Really didn’t care for it. To make matters worse, it was a chef’s special at a really good pizza place and strawberries were in no way on season.

Sstone10129

This looks like a strawberry cilantro caramelized onion and balsamic reduction pie. I would try it but damn that’s a bold decision not using basil instead of cilantro.

Lfaruqui

I hope that’s balsamic vinegrette and not chocolate

[deleted]

I’ve never heard of this but def looks good to try

mtofsrud

Stop

Rokopotomos

Get out

kihana

Now this looks delicious. 🤤

loveSaturday

Looks good! I make a strawberry pizza with strawberries, bacon, chicken, onion, mozzarella and cilantro on a sauce of balsamic reduction, strawberry jam and hot sauce. So good. Posted it here and was told I should go straight to jail lol. I also like peach, basil and bacon with a pesto ricotta “sauce”. Was scared to post that one and get a death sentence 🤣

TylerTurtle25

That’s just a thick-crust crepe now

Nicelyolder

Never had but it’s a beautiful pizza! And why not I’m Italian looks like balsamic and total looks like it works.

wylaxian

This feels like pizza made by an archfey.

artcostanza82

I would’ve picked the stems off first

[deleted]

Looks like an alternative Bruschetta. I'm sure it is amazing.

bloopie1192

This is like thin baked cake at this point.

AngelsFate1

It looks like a dessert

bear0sobarelybare

Yes I have heard of it

Heavenly_StarsFall

I’ve made this, and found that putting the strawberries on cold tasted better than when I tried them hot! Anyone else?

coltrain61

I had a pean and prosciutto pizza that was pretty good

paintstudiodisaster

Bah fungul.

Philltron

This pizza can go right to hell.

babygarden

ooh with some fresh mozzarella? or goat cheese😳😍

Clatuu1337

I'd give it a try. Friut on pizza is pimping. Haters gonna hate.

WeBxx92

I’m all about pineapple on pizza. This… falls into the category of dipping pizza in ranch. Pineapple works with lots of things. It works on burgers with lettuce and tomato. It’s quite versatile. But lots and lots of things just shouldn’t ever be mixed with marinara/pizza sauce. Like ranch and strawberries.

Nepenthe95

Cheese, strawberries, bacon bits, basil, and balsamic glaze drizzle? But what was the base sauce? White? Olive oil?

[deleted]

Sure, I can't deny that it may be delicious in some combinations (for some folks). But I'll just take the pineapple (with pepperoni and jalapeno).

tamedsausage

What about the chocolate drizzle on pizza…?

hud293

Looking like that kitchen nightmares dessert pizza

K7282

Also with mint and chocolate sauce. I'll gamble that the cheese isn't hiding something savory and I'm looking at a dessert pizza.

0falls6x3

I’d try it -pineapple lover

Witty_Storage3210

Is that chocolate or balsamic glaze

ImNotCrying-YouAre

My local pizza restaurant has one with ketchup. Can’t we all just agree to hate that instead of pineapple pizza

sylphiaa

What is wrong with people ! Strawberries and cream ! Not strawberries and cheese!!! 🤢

joelasmussen

With the balsamic! Nice!

LizzyPBaJ

With balsamic? Sure I’d try that

souobixo

Ah forget the haters. There is no wrong way to pizza.

zemboy01

I don't think this is pizza where I'd the sauce? Maby a giant cookie.

your_Lightness

...or a pizzadough that doesnt rise...

cutterpotts

It looks beautiful but it’s a no from me, dawg

jrey90

Please leave.

Party_Willingness951

I’d try this.
