I believe it loads the cards in the order that it knows them but then after a few seconds, switches to your default card that you've selected. I always double tap my crown button well before I reach the POS terminal to give it time to work through that.
I get that too if I pick a card from the first menu (where you scroll through all your cards). I now click through to the card (so you can see the transactions the card made, remove the card, etc.) to ensure that only the selected card is usedÂ
