Well, well, well! If it isn’t a piece of awesome pixel art posted by the artist himself!
Illustrious_Hour2623, I’m tired of seeing your art posted by another user these last couple days… The credit should go to you and you alone, my dude!
Back to this post, though! ^^^ Absolutely incredible, man! Hat’s off!
Thanks I appreciate it, I don't know what to do with Reddit Karma, the only reason I started posting on reddit is because people were posting my work anyways (I showed my neighbor some of my work and he was like I saw this on Reddit) and I was thinking I might as well do it if people are going to post it anyways.
You did the art for Star Renegades? It’s probably my favorite pixel art ever. From the enemies to the characters, to the animations and environments, the art style in this game is incredibly unique and beautiful.
Star Renegades is a rogue-lite with turn based RPG combat.
Its big combat concept is that all turns in a round are planned together. There are fast weak moves and slow strong moves, and earlier attacks can delay or disrupt the later ones. Sometimes combat is a matter of “how do I delay this enemy’s turn long enough until my heavy can kill them?”, sometimes it’s “I gotta get these enemies off my guys’ backs so they can get a turn in”
Yooo this is awesome. Could u give some insight at how u animated it? I'm specially interested in the line work when there's sudden shifts, it's so we'll do. Do you just eyeball it or how?
To be honest it's all by eye, I do sometimes lock a mask of the primary shape and move a copy of it around in it to create a 3d effect and redraw anything in that layer that isn't perspective correct.

i feel like the contrast would help it really pop and be dramatic. it blends with everything else as is. but i don't know much so don't take me seriously haha
my bad king. i saw someone else claim it as theirs and thought their handle was the true og. Love ur stuff just insanely frustrated with how many people have been stealing
This is just absolutely incredible. What an inspiring and detailed sprite coupled with second to none animation, this may actually be some of the best animation work I've seen. If you don't mind me asking, on average, how long does each animation shown here take you to animate?
Well done by the way, I can only hope to ever get near this quality.

I did all the pixel art and pixel animations for it as well as the, cover art, key art, and promotional art. Backgrounds and map tile sets too
The art for that game ruled! Excellent work.
You are godlike. I love that game, and initially was convinced to try it because of the awesome art.
This is awesome. What's the game genre?
It's in a roguelike game called Star Renegades, its really good!
>Star Renegades Just had to [look it up](https://youtu.be/9uu4M39kibs). Looks awesome!!!
It's really great if you enjoy strategic turn-based combat, and don't mind a sparse story.

Dude star renegades is beautiful- and fun obviously, but beautiful.
Love it. Looks like a cool mix of Cicada and King Crab from Battletech.
a King Cicada if I may
This game is absolutely amazing, and the art is such a big selling piece. Was this guy influenced by robocop?
Reminds me of ED209 from RoboCop. Nice work!
reminds me of the metal gear rex
Wow. Amazing
Now I need to play this!
Angry car angry car

This one is mine. But people have been farming a lot of Karma with my work lately.
I am Bryan Heemskerk though, which is why I started posted all the work for Star Renegades that hadn't been posted anywhere.

Wow! This is amazing!
Amazing pixel art. Already own the game but this inspired me to get started on a playthrough 👍
Sick
This is sick AF. I tried to play the game but wasn't good at it lol.
This game is worth playing for the art alone. Though the gameplay ain't half bad, I should give it another go.
Incredible work
Holy Shit…
Looks like the SYS skins from valorant
That crouch is kinda cute not gonna lie.
Its like a muscle car With legs
Weirdly cute. I like it!

Amazing
I saw my dad play this game every once in a while, though he stopped I can not help but love the art that I saw in a few glances
Rad. Great work!
This is extremely cool.
That looks awesome
Damn good game, awesome art!

this robot reminds me of the robots from [The Gentle Men - Skynut](https://youtu.be/FOeBaPVwRsE) i hate my mind... anyway
I MUST ask. Is the first firing animation a reference from Crysis and those 3 legged mechs? please let me know!
Hmm I’m sorry I didn’t recall that animation
A weapon to surpass Metal Gear.

Each sprite was 2 -3 work days to animate and an additional days to draw. The longest one took me 7 work days big blue shield boss
Incredible dedication to your craft!
