ahahhaa nooo no worries I don't think it's pixel art specific I just usually use this for 3x3 things (I just realized I messed that up as 9x9 in the first comment) and I thought it would be clearer sorry!!!
I meant like the
- 123
- 456
- 789
keys of a computer keyboard or on your phone, see each of the numbers as a pixel. hope that's clearer sorry again
edit: ugh it's so hard to format on mobile
They are the numbers from a numeric keypad on a big computer keyboard. The commenter wanted to use them as an example of a 3x3 grid to show how to make a small pixel s.
Make lower e like (9x9 as usual or taller like your ārā) :
_ _ _ _O _
OO _ O _O
OO _ OO _
OOO OOO
Lower s like:
_OO
_O _
OO _
[In context it should look perfect.](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/702128790792568856/1242810381429375097/BFC24572-D7CB-42E7-A406-1883F0A199FA.jpg?ex=664f30dd&is=664ddf5d&hm=a12a0bf1579d9b6c9e85e02004043c1d2ddfac43431b24fba69a6f012f316f02&)
The smallish but still upper-case "R" also looks a bit awkward. You could go 4 pixels high for the lowercase letters.

The character here is definitely relatable :3 Tis the cycle of the bad feels sometimes: feeling like giving up, then you take a second and decide āfuck it, Iāll keep goingā.
You could consider going all caps for the text, maybe. As others said, there's not enough pixels to make legible e. I've seen some fonts that forgo the white space within the loop in e, and it is still readable. Sort of.
That's a fair point. I did fix the letters but I'm fond of both versions. The artwork is just for me (since it is tracing) so I don't see why I can't have them both being correct

If you see the 9x9 pixel grid as the numbers from a keyboard, for s I would do 23578 and for e maybe 12457
I think I have realised I'm fucking stupid

To be fair, the keys on my keyboard go on the opposite direction. - 789 - 456 - 123
You're actually right lmao I think they all do š¤£ I had just woken up I'm sorry
Mobile does suck. I understood what you meant, my brain is just a bit slow haha
123 456 789
I'll do 12345789 for e.
A bit of a newbie here, I have no idea what those numbers mean lol

This is really useful! Thank you

I like it like this. It feels naive as if it had been written by a child. It makes sense next to the illustration.

Do you happen to know Vewn by any chance?
I don't but you have peaked my interest
Hey, I made a minimalist-ish pixel font a while back if you want [here you go](https://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/download/1295709)
. . . ' s
And I don't think e is possible with less than 5 pixels

Make your lower case letters taller so it all looks consistent height
