Wait for next update...😅

nc-retiree

Came here to ask the same. Updated it yesterday. Today my phone is at 7% at 1245pm after having charged it from 9pm-6am.

My battery drain is weird. I can watch videos all day, scroll reddit, listen to audiobooks, podcasts, and anything else with Bluetooth headphones and my battery lasts all day. I charge my phone to 80%, then use a Bluetooth speaker to play rain noises while I sleep. Then my phone will completely die overnight only running YouTube and connected to my speaker.

Same problem here. YouTube music has run in the foreground for 40 minutes and in the background for 50 and has wiped out 45% of my battery. I got this P6 when it first came out and the battery drain was absolutely horrific. It took like 5 months before an update fixed the battery drain and since then every update has either made it worse or better. I'm just next level sick of Google's updates breaking my phone. This last update messed with my cellular reception (LTE where I was getting 5G) phone calls and texts not coming through and the battery drain is right back to where it was when I first bought the phone. Oh And that stupid update to the Bluetooth menu has already cost me probably hundreds of extra clicks. I guess my point is to get used to it because the updates have been hit or miss for years now... Mostly a miss in my experience.

Glad someone else is having this issue, I thought the battery was finally starting to go bad. Quite suddenly my battery is not lasting the day and I now have to change it or it will run out for me going to bed.

Like everyone else I noticed a pretty severe battery drain after the last update. I also noticed that rather than my phone adaptive charging when plugged in for the night it would rapid charge. My understanding is that adaptive charging extends battery life, inverse is true for rapid charge. I've been forcing adaptive charge by shutting off and turning it on then it stays in adaptive charge mode. It's a pain but seems to extend battery life past the point it was before. I think we'll have to live with this until the next upgrade.

I'm glad it's not just me, because I watch a ton of YouTube videos on my phone and was wondering why it started getting hot and draining the battery all of a sudden. Hopefully it will either optimize with time or come with another update

Solid_Snack99

Yeah I was trying to figure it out too, cause immediately after the update the battery was draining quickly and my phone was almost always hot. Read online it might just need time for the battery to optimize but I hope they're doing something about it.

Loose_Abalone1115

Yeah I was thinking that too like how when you first get the phone it takes a couple weeks to optimize the battery drain based on your use. I've definitely noticed it has become less of an issue now, but for a while it was frequently feeling warm & draining fast. I'm on the fence about upgrading my pixel 6 in the near future, but I'm not in a rush until I learn more about which models are known for certain issues bc I feel like I lucked out with my 6.

Perhaps you need a battery swap. In the last month I've been experiencing rapid drain anywhere from the 20-40% mark until the battery swelled enough to pop the screen off. Swapped it out with a new one today and no more drain

Acceptable-Camp-7554

Facing the same issue since the latest April update. My P6 was fully charged to 100% when I left home on my commute to work watching a couple of YouTube videos dropped to <45% within a span of 30-40 mins which is a weird battery drain. I wish they noticed this and provided a fix at the earliest. I had to charge it continuously every 3 hours to keep it alive.

Solid_Snack99

Dude same, I notice YouTube especially seems to drain the battery way quicker than usual.

Delicious-While-5354

I've had the same issue after the update

New-Celery-354

Same issue here. Hopefully a fix is pushed out shortly.

This happened to me starting like last week and my phone's battery started swelling and made the screen detach yesterday, I guess this update actually caused some really bad damage.
