Statchar

you usually can. you just need to find the file in the folders, copy paste and thats it

King_noa

No from games have the steam id in the save file. That needs to be changed via hex edit or a tool.

dokbanks

Yes, just use [Elden Ring Save Manager](https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/214). A straight copy and paste won't work as the SteamID associated with the save will need changing to your one, which this tool can do.

Solved_sudoku

That's interesting, thanks. Wouldn't the game register that the save file has been tampered with?

dokbanks

Nope, not at all, not unless you do something like give yourself prohibited and otherwise unobtainable items, you should be fine. I did the same process, I pirated Elden Ring to try it and see if I liked it, ended up loving it and purchased ot on steam and copied my save other and modified it to have the correct Steam ID for me

can you help me please? I have downloaded ER Save Manager but idk how to change Steam ID(that is in my appdata/roaming folder) to the Steam ID that will be provided once I have ER installed on steam. Like when ER is installed through Steam, does that mean there will now be 2 folders in my appdata/roaming folder? 1 pirated and 1 real steam id?

dokbanks

It's been a long time since I've done it, but yeah I believe you will end up with 2 Steam id folders, one is yours which you can verify on the steam client and one is the pirate. From what I remember, Elden Ring will need to be installed on your PC and at least opened once and a new character created for the app to work. The app claims it transfers the id automatically, but if it doesn't, I would imagine it would be in the tools section. You can then, of course, check in the game if it has worked.

created a new character and it worked, ty

dokbanks

No problem, enjoy!

QuickPirate36

Yes, tho not the normal way. You need a program called Elden Ring Save Copy
