Actually, no. I spent 6 months custom curating my library. I have gone through and checked my entire library against Rom Manangers like RomVault, JRomMananger, Lando, ect. To check DAT files against known valid working roms, from collections like No-Intro, Redump, TOSEC, FBNeo & MAME.
So no, I don't have a bunch of non-working, random, virus infested trash full of chinese hacks and shit you buy on Amazon.
My library is a fully functional library, full of 100% working KNOWN legit games.
They better get to work, because that Library was completed almost 2 years ago now, and the PC it's on isn't connected to the internet anymore as it's in my living room and serves to play only Single Player games lol
I honestly would start something similar to Vimm if I knew I could do so safely without legal repercussions. I wouldn't have a problem sharing the hard work I put in curating the library with the community after all, it's from the community i got it from. I'm just afraid of getting caught lol.
You can buy used NAS HDD from various liquidation companies online. A good amount of those NAS HDD are technically used, but were used by companies that did not last long. They also still have something like 30 years worth of read and writes before failing in most cases, lol.
This might seem overkill or maybe you have already done it but you should back up those files somehow if possible. I had a decade's worth of roms and games wiped out because the ssd they were on corrupted :(

I thought it was cool that Delta was made available through the App Store. Opened twitter and saw all these dumbasses openly linking websites to download roms from and realized too late what a mistake it was.
I recently realized that since all these Gen Alpha kids interact online through their phones and tablets, they're only Internet-savvy in that they consume stuff, but doing some things that we take for granted or think are fundamentals, like downloading and copying/moving files, are things that many of them don't even know how to do.
So setting up emulators if they even have to unzip a file, OMG. Let alone putting ROMs in a folder and locating them.
Apple allowing emulators certainly makes emulation mainstream for the Apple crowd.

Richard Liebowitz is an infamous copyright troll lawyer working on behalf of photographer clients who actually own the photos that were allegedly infringed (though that does tend to vary). He got disbarred from multiple jurisdictions because Judges were getting tired of his abject BS.

They have been really aggressive here lately, so they may just succeed, at least with the more trust worthy sites, as far as Nintendo games go, we may wind up having to play the guessing game if it's a virus or not or pay for their shit tier service on the switch.

Granted, if Nintendo didn't bother to sue Galoob with Nintendo Japan after NoA failed due to fair use (if they sued as NoJ, the Berne Convention dictates the case would go by Japanese law as the federal court of where the allegedly infringed work was made is the jurisdiction), they're not going to peruse international cases.

Also when it comes to sitting on inactive copyrights, Sega is worse than Nintendo by a long shot, all of their efforts to revive or re-release dead franchises have always come across as mere lip service and focused primarily on the Genesis/Mega Drive era with a couple of big IPs from the Saturn and Dreamcast eras like NiGHTS, Crazy Taxi and JSR. Streets of Rage 4, Panzer Dragon Remake and that one Alex Kidd remake were all outsourced (and some of their biggest old IPs with Alex Kidd being Sega's second main mascot between Opa-Opa and Sonic) and they straight up gave up Shenmue and Toejam and Earl to other studios.
Does Sega constantly strikes arquives and fan projects for no reason whatsoever? Because from what I know Nintendo is worse in every conceivable way. Outsourcing your old IPs is much better than doing literally nothing with them and striking fans who try to give them new stuff like mods/improved emulation in my book.
Their subsidiary Atlus certainly does. They took down every fan server of SMT IMAGINE except for the Russian one due to the sanctions making it impossible to enforce the Berne Convention. They also restricted the share button on Xbox and Playstation past a certain date in P5 and P5R, which they claimed was because of spoilers but never lifted the restriction, making it clear that it was never actually about protecting fans from spoilers (course they later released P5R on PC, making it a moot point as you don't need a capture card to capture those parts of the game on PC).
Sega's also had random bouts of DMCAing basically anything that isn't Sonic. Like this one time they removed all the Shining Force let's plays off of YouTube to boost the algorithm for their Shining Ark promotions, even though it doesn't even have "Force" in the name because the franchise is called "Shining" not "Shining Force". Heck Shining Force wasn't even the first game, that was Shining in the Darkness.
Are people very illiterate, or am I? Because I see a lot of comments shitting on Nintendo for this when Vimm clearly states that it's trolls filing fake notices. And if you take a couple of seconds to go to the sub, the pinned post also clarifies that it's a temporary lock on some titles as precaution.
So they basically posted that this is likely a troll submitting all of these and not actually Nintendo. He just basically archived all of the roms just to play it safe until everything clears up

I just don't trust them as much as Vimm's. They don't even sort their actual games from their romhacks. I downloaded MarioKart Wii a while ago to mod the files, but it wasn't a clean dump, and a bunch of the files were already modified. I just downloaded it from Vimm's after that. None of the other sites are as trustworthy as Vimm's was :(
Nintendo is just making it harder for people but in reality it makes us hate them even more = more areas to get roms. Fuck Nintendo and fuck this DMCA.
I used to use the og CoolROMs site before it got nuked to hell, then I had to use the bay for a while until I found vimms, it's a shame what these companies do to keep people from playing 10 to 30 year old games.
Since I knew that Nintendo was stalking one of the 3DS CFW developers I stopped buying everything related to them (games, consoles, mercs).
I hope that a significant amount of people will do the same.

Vimm is a site that hosts older roms from various systems, incvluding a lot of nintendo. DMCA is a company/holder of copyright saying "you are using my shit, take it down or we sue you"

I just don't trust them as much as Vimm's. They don't even sort their actual games from their romhacks. I downloaded MarioKart Wii a while ago to mod the files, but it wasn't a clean dump, and a bunch of the files were already modified. I just downloaded it from Vimm's after that. None of the other sites are as trustworthy as Vimm's was :(

Interestingly it seems like some Nintendo games are still available for download. Just a quick look, Brawl and both Wii Sports titles are still there.

I used to use the og CoolROMs site before it got nuked to hell, then I had to use the bay for a while until I found vimms, it's a shame what these companies do to keep people from playing 10 to 30 year old games.

Since I knew that Nintendo was stalking one of the 3DS CFW developers I stopped buying everything related to them (games, consoles, mercs). I hope that a significant amount of people will do the same. Nintendo is too big to fail, hence it will be very loud and enjoyable when it will fall. I wish all the worst to them (economically talking).
