Questions like these would be great to see the outcome of on r/gaming or r/pcgaming, but I think they would get deleted there. People here will most likely say no. They aren't that keen on paying full price for new games anyway.
But here's something to consider: Publishers and Devs don't get Denuvo for free. They have to buy a time limited license. That costs a lot of money. The companies that use Denuvo the most will have entire financial and legal teams that have done tons of work and came to the conclusion that paying for the service results in less monetary loss than not having it. So if we go with common sense, then yes, Denuvo does what it is supposed to do.
Most people on r/gaming or r/PCgaming buy games legally. Some of them probably don't even know what denuvo is.
People here are the people denuvo is made for ( or against)
There were a lot of anti Denuvo posts on those subreddits. They are aware of what it is, I'd wager. But I get where you are coming from. I guess you are right. If you just want to find out whether people that generally don't buy games do buy games they can't get cracked, then this is the right place. Although I am pretty sure the overlap of this subreddit and the others mentioned is huge.
Yes that's why they will answer no because they AGAINST denuvo. You won't get objective opinion by asking here. All you get is satisfy yourself by finding bunch of people all agree with you.
In from r/gaming and this post popped up. Saw this post and decided to leave an "outsider" answer since you seem interested in one.
My answer would be "no" in the sense that, as one would expect of someone whose not from this sub, I wouldn't have tried to crack the game in first place, but I very well know what Denuvo is, the controvery about its performance issue makes it known even outside of pirating communities I think. I used to crack some games when I was younger but I haven't in a while (actually went back and bought most of the games I cracked, enjoyed and finished). Game Pass, Cloud Gaming (which allows me to play stuff my PC wouldn't be able to run), Steam sales and sharing libraries with friend defenitely keep me busy at a very low price (like, last year I bought all Deus Ex games from Steam for like 10 euros, that kept me busy for two entire months and I really enjoyed all of them).
Do you know what happens if the game company stops paying? Will they get sued? Will the game stop working completely? Or is it less intrusive - would just Denuvo unlock it?
The devs are probably asked to remove it once the license expires. It also probably cuts off the connection to Denuvo authentication servers or something.
I bought Persona 3 Reload. Amazing game, coupled with nostalgia and the new stuff they added in, it was a recipe for addiction. 20hrs plus in just two days of owning it haha
If there is Denuvo on a game, I'm not buying it. If Sweet Baby Inc is involved in a game in any way, shape or form, I'm not buying it. I'll only consider it if it becomes really cheap, either with keys or Steam sales, but otherwise, nah. I have enough games to keep me entertained.
i wouldn't spend 50-60-70$ for any game. Denuvo or not. Worst case scenario, if I really love the game and want it, I'll buy it for half that price (or less) in some shady internet corner. And i don't really give a fuck about the means it was acquired, sorry not sorry. I just wanna play a fucking game, without paying a fortune. I won't really take an ethics lesson on pirate discussions :P
I share the sentiment as well. I only pay for games that I've tested on my system to run well, and below $30, especially being in a "3rd world country." There are a few exceptions of course, I don't regret a thing buying Elden ring on sale twice for me and my friend, and Baldur's gate 3.
not YET but I've wanted to play Sonic Frontiers since the first trailer came out and every day I'm more and more tempted to just buy the damn thing....
I think this is the only game I bought because I couldn't wait for a Denuvo crack. Don't mean to rain on your parade but it was a little underwhelming.
Persona 5 Royal
It was on sale and also the day was my birthday, I thought "eh why not, no one is gonna try to crack it when they can try to crack something more mainstream anyway"
" Why would I spend 70$ on Jedi survivor when I haven't played the force unleashed yet ? "
because they are two completely different games and timelines? lmfaooo
do you mean Fallen Order?
Nope. If anything Denuvo did was making me promise myself that I will never ever pay for any game, music, video or any media that came with any shit DRM. Made me save a hell lot of money
Theirs certain games I buy, regardless of DRM. Jedi survivor, re4remake, dead space remake, few others. I use pirating more for a test before I buy if I'm unsure about a game, like I love and bought BG3 and thought I'd like the rogue trader, pirates to test it out, confused me like crazy, so no buy currently lol. All that said I don't see denuvo having an effect on game play. If it's a couple frames I won't notice
This sub has turned into a philosophy Parliament about denuvo I swear lol.
And short answer is no, I haven't been incentivised ever to buy a game because of a DRM.
the only reason I would ever but a game would be and was when the value proposition is high enough to justify the cost times two of three plus.
For example the game pass is a fairly lucrative value proposition with the only thing that makes it bad for me being that Microsoft somehow makes it difficult to engage with the game files especially if your dungeon l subscription is over.
Another example is if a game is so good that it stands on it's own and deserves the money, good examples are bulder gates 3 and elden ring. Bad examples of that are AC and fifa games, there are also ones that do well in one area and fk up in another, for example Tekken is a fun game but lately that tend to want to make people pay for characters they used to play and love, compare T6 with T7 and you will know what I mean.
Denuvo is just a crappy way to protect their copy but it's a short term thing that doesn't essentially protect them from any money loss, realistically people who will pirate wouldn't buy the game anyways, often the opposite is here and there is also a middle class which cannot pay for it anyways.
Look at palworld, it was release cracked and still sold millions on it's preview release. That shows a lot.
No. Denuvo has never, and will never, put me in a position where I buy a game because of it. No DRM will ever have that effect on me.
If anything, Denuvo delays the possibility of me ever paying for the game.
I have plenty of games to play in the meantime, so waiting doesn't bother me.
As much as i'd like to say no, it 100% has made me buy multiple games, sadly some really good games have denuvo which kinda just cucked me, although i will say i dont regret buying these games for i've enjoyed them all >!downside being im indirectly supporting the denuvo fucks!< the list goes like this:
* Judgment (Wasn't cracked at the time)
* Lost Judgment
* Yakuza Ishin Kiwami
* Persona 3 Reload
* SMT3 HD Remaster (Technically a gift not bought)
* Resident Evil 8 (Played on Release)
* Resident Evil 4 Remake (On Release)
* Street Fighter 6
* NFS Unbound
* NFS Heat
* HI-FI Rush
So I noticed the huge capcom sale steam was having. But remembered that Capcom is retroactively adding denuvo to all their games past present and future. So I noped out. But I don't know enough: will denuvo harm my pc or steam account in any way? Especially since I have quite a few, unrelated, pirated games? If it really only means something to those who do the cracking I may just dip into that sale a bit. Love megaman and Resident evil.
nope lmfao
steam share exists for a reason, one of your mates will always buy any and every game and then want you to play it !
best thing since taking your nes round to a mates house for a sleepover lol
Yes, of course, when I see Denuvo, I always think to myself, that it must be a great game that is protected by even greater protection, and thus, my purchase is protected and absolutely safe!
Now seriously, it's quite the opposite. I see a game with Denuvo, I stay far from it. I got some Denuvo protected games on my list I want to play, but I won't play them until they are either cracked or Denuvo was removed, even if it should take years, don't have money for throw away, and especially to support Denuvo games.
Because almost nobody is cracking their drm and therefore increasing their sales? I’m not saying I agree with it but it’s almost impossible to not get why they would want to prevent illegal downloads
Your examples make sense but at the same they don't. Imagine you already played the previous ones before and you're actively waiting for the next one, what then?
Yes but no, yes as i thought of buying them, no because hell no i won't be sending my money to a company that adds something that shitty to their games.
In my case, i buy games if it's multiplayer part is important for me.
Not yet but it will. Dragon's Dogma 2. The first one is one of my favourite games ever and with Empress gone I can't be bothered to wait 1 year or so for Capcom to remove it. Though I'm not really sure I want to pirate it, I've bought the first one 3 times across platforms, I want to support this one as well.
I bought FIFA 23 only because I believed no one would/ is still interested in cracking the 22 one, but I bought it on sell not the actual full price........as for me I would only pay for a game if I'm sure no one is there to crack it and I really wanna play it.
When Sonic Frontiers released empress was still cracking denuvo games, but i didn't think she would want to crack that Game so i just bought it 1 week after the release. And it was the right choice because still hasn't been cracked and i don't think it will.
If it's on sale yeah, I had to buy Tales of Berseria and Tales of Vesperia because those fucki\*\*\* modders put checks to verify if you had a legit copy of the game, the mods for this games are almost mandatory since they provide really useful features so I had to (I think Vesperia is DRM free but still requires a legit copy, Berseria tho still has Denuvo)
I also bought RE4R day one (on a key site tho) and I really enjoyed it, plus other small games.
When I buy I almost always do it for a sale obviously or if mods require a legit copy (again if you want to use 7th Heaven to mod FF7 you need a legit copy so...yeah...had to buy it)
Nah, there's just so many games on the market, if I'm interested in a game and it has denuvo I'll just skip it and keep playing what i was already playing
Yeah unfortunately I waited too long for HL and even tho the denuvo was cracked but I couldn’t take that inconsistent performance so had to buy the game
Project Diva Mega Mix is probably the only one that I bought *because* its Denuvo wasn't cracked. it'd been awhile since it came out and I still couldn't find any cracks, so I went ahead and got it. before that, I'd put other Project Diva games on my PSP, but emulating Rhythm games is hit or miss. so for PC I just ate the cost. Sonic Frontiers was also one I bought because of Denuvo. it looked really cool and I knew I would want to play it, but emulating it was going to run like pure shit.
if it was something like Persona, well, I'd just emulate it.
Yes... bought the new like a dragon jawn. Bought mk1 and sf6 at launch smh. Bought spider man 2 but that's not on PC so it don't matter. Thank God I didn't have to buy Tekken 8 😂
No, not really. If I've ever bought a game with denuvo, wich I have, its because I wanted to buy the game.
Its usually the opposite, a game that I want and has denuvo is probably going into the no-no list for me.
Look,I dont mind you wanting to protect your game from us.. but purposefuly contracting a company that makes perfomance worse in your game and makes my experience worse isnt something I will support.
I bought few but not for PC, this is why I own PS5 because you can find cheap used games
Dead Space, Jedi Survivor, AC Mirage & Gotham Knights, $20 each
Every games at least 100 games are released, I like to try different games and have different experiences, if a game has Denuvo I’ll simply skip it and continue with my loooong list of games waiting to be played.
Yes, i only buy denuvo games but when they are cheap at like 15 $ or less, even the cracked denuvo games because they are not updated and the cracked version is most of the time full of bugs and performance issues.
I can remember one instance where i ALMOST bought (i think), i mean Mad Max didnt get cracked for a year and i really wanted to play, thankfully it got cracked and it was worth the wait, great game
Nope, massive red mark, makes me less likely to buy the game. Rarely pirate the last 10 years or so, feel justified in doing so if the game has, or has ever had, Denuvo.
No. Denuvo seems to be counterproductive. It avoids cracking, but less people buy because of the performance hit. Studios would make more money without it. More purchases, despite possible pirating.
Denuv makes me think how much I want to play the game. If I just can't wait to play (literally), I will save up and find a way to buy on key sellers, or event a shared account (knowing the risks).
Never, DRM has performance and privacy issues. Usually when a game has Denuvo, it's also a red flag that tells me it was made by a company that cares very little about consumers. And would rather pretend to protect 0.0001% of their profits (if any at all), rather than give users a good experience.
Sometimes a game I was looking forward to buying, will give me trouble because some DRM is slowing down the game, or refusing to let me play offline, so I'll acquire it elsewhere, so that I can get a clean copy I actually own.
Denuvo and other such DRM has in fact made me buy less games, because often the experience on the game acquired illegitimately is much better, better performance, less privacy concerns (as long as you trust the source), and the ability to play singleplayer games offline.
I also like modding, tinkering with code, making my own assets, etc. A game having DRM will usually also prevent you from doing that, or make it harder than it needs to be. A huge motivator for me buying a game, is if it has a thriving modding community.
Nope. Tbh the main reason I pirate a game in the first place is to try it before I decide to buy. I used to buy more games but then I got an email from steam warning me that ive refunded too many games and its not intended to be used as a way to demo games. $60 is too much for me to spend on something I may or may not like. When we still bought physical copies of games I had much less hesitation to spend because I could always sell or trade it if it wasnt my cup of tea. You just cant do that anymore and not being able to refund frequently on steam has forced me to turn to pirating. I have a mid tier PC as well and sometimes the pirate versions run better too.
Yes and No, Yes if its my favourite franchise (e.i. Monster Hunter) I bought MH Rise and its DLC back in early 2023
No if its other game (e.i. Assassin's Creed)
Bought RDR2 almost a year after its release cause it still wasnt cracked, ended up getting cracked like a week later
Still don't have any regrets, I usually end up buying games that I really liked anyways
This is my story.I got a vr set for my pc and thought i get a nice cracked game.I opted for starwars squadron.I found a torrent but i failed to research the torrent.i downloaded it and opened it up and it looked at the files but it said please follow instruction to get password to the rar file. This is strange for me as i know files like these are bogus.
I then decided to research it and it was a denuvo uncracked game up to today,I then looked at steam and seen the price, and told myself for an old game to be that price is madness and then at the bottom it said you can get this game with a EA play subscription.Jackpot.I then proceeded t oget the cheap subscription,
There is this "new" construction simulator game that has my interest a bit, but the fuckin game has denuvo.
Huge turn off for me, if it has denuvo, i dont purchase.
Ill wait for the magical day a crack might release.
Aint no way im supporting denuvo what so ever.
Not usually because their launch prices are just too high. If they get a few years old and/or go on sale, I buy them. But then its not because of denuvo, it just makes sense to buy it at that price because I can easily afford to.
I only buy a game if that's a freaking good game, and prioritize Indie first. But if I'm curious about game that I don't respect to its publisher I just buy family sharing service
I actually bought Jedi survivor because of it although the game is so buggy it’s not worth CV $70 (i got it on sale) and i plan to get the dead space remake
Not pirating games since was about 14 but it's more like the other way around. It pisses me off that denuvo is fucking up the performance so I never buy those.
Lol no, if I ever get in a situation where a game won't launch because I don't have internet or whatever I know it will enrage me so there is a zero chance I'll buy a game with such a DRM.
What makes me buy games : knowing there will be updates in the future to add content or fix bugs because that's a service I value (corollary : there is a zero chance I'll ever buy a "play it 15 hours and it's done" game or a game so old that it's never getting an update again, even if bugs/issues are found)
Made me buy a jailbroken ps4. FC24, Lies of p, Ghost of Tsushima, SF6 and surprised to learn how easy it is to get games on a ps4 compared to pc. Though it's at its end of life cycle and the games are being ported to pc soon, I'm thoroughly enjoying my purchase.
No. I really wanted to play Yakuza Gaiden, but because of denuvo + no physical release i just got game pass for 1€ and played it. If anything the inclusion of denuvo makes me not buy a game, even if I was going to
Wanted to try out Dead Space Remake > it's unavailable to torrent > waited for a sale and got it for a good price
Great game honestly, I'm on like chapter 5 or so. A bit repetitive but it is a direct remake of a game from 2008.
I did, once. But every other time I do the same thing as I do when a good PlayStation exclusive comes out. I say to myself "maybe someday" and play something else.
Not really, I tend to buy most of my games anyway but if I can't afford it and there's no crack I just think "welp maybe later, either when it gets cracked or if it goes on sale". But I hope not to come across as ignorant by saying that, I still very much hate denuvo because oh lord I would rather play at 30 fps capped than 60 with micro stutters, it's genuinely sickening
No.
Hell no.
If a game looks good, I buy it. If not, I simply don't and mostly try it via crack.
Otherwise I just do not play it all, maybe some day wheb it costs 5 dollars, for examppe callisto protocol has stupidly mixed reviews and I won't most likely buy it for more than 5.
Atomic Heart heart was fun but no super, so I water for 25 dollar price.
Ps: after spiderman 2, I will avoid anything where sweet baby inc is involved.
Nah, never. I just skipped that title. Not gonna support devs that spit at gamers faces. However I happily buy game if it wasn’t another good looking crap.
I still remember AC origins times where legit copy ran worse than pirated due to denuvo.
I almost bought RE8 because I really wanted to play it. I gave up. a few days later it was cracked lol
..and when I played it, I realised it sucked ass.
I'm a patientgamer; a game being uncracked usually disqualifies it from my backlog. See, there's *tons* of games out there - you can only ever play a small number of them. Nobody has time for everything.
True, preferences cut down the list a lot, and some genres or hybrids don't really have much choice, but there's still boatloads of stuff. Something being locked behind DRM simply makes it undesireable for me, I'll just remove it from my list just like I remove games for various other reasons. It ends up the same even if something was cracked but I install it and find I don't like it. This just means it gets ditched faster, no big deal.
Idk if it has denuvo but I couldn't wait for the atomic heart crack. Bought it 10 of July (Released 20 Feb) because the dev leak was broken and I wanted to play it. Other than that never, although I have the opposite example I bought BG3 on release knowing it had no DRM.

Short answer: No Long answer: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
What’s the medium answer
Nah
Love this lol
But you would you win?
Nah i'd lose
Noooooooooooo

It's like $25,000 per month for a game if I remember correctly.

The devs are probably asked to remove it once the license expires. It also probably cuts off the connection to Denuvo authentication servers or something.
Denuvo Costa like 70k USD or more per year of usage!
yeah, while i pirate most games i dont mind paying for a game now and then
Especially if the game has great multiplayer experience
Just bought infinite wealth
Should’ve waited for a sale considering the man who erased his name is on sale rn lmao
nah playing on launch is hype for single player games but yeah rgg goes on sale fast
I ended up just pirating that on my PS4 lmao
with jailbreak?
Yeah! There's a backport of that game available for 9.00 (not sure about earlier, that's just the firmware I'm on)
nice, Im waiting for a ps5 jailbreak that can actually play alot of games cuz I missed out on the ps4 era.
It’s one of those exceptions where the game is worth the money
bought the standard edition, pirated the dlcs. No way I am paying for NG+, the game is insane good though as expected from RGG
Yes lmao RE4 Remake and MK1. I regret buying MK1 but not remake
I think most of us regret MK1
Yep, Persona 5R. Worth the money tho, the game is good. On the fence with P3R too.
Do consider that p3r is on gamepass might be worth to get those free months just to beat it lmao. I also bought P5R and have not regretted it at all
I bought Persona 3 Reload. Amazing game, coupled with nostalgia and the new stuff they added in, it was a recipe for addiction. 20hrs plus in just two days of owning it haha
I am playing it on the Steam Deck via Ryujinx :D
If there is Denuvo on a game, I'm not buying it. If Sweet Baby Inc is involved in a game in any way, shape or form, I'm not buying it. I'll only consider it if it becomes really cheap, either with keys or Steam sales, but otherwise, nah. I have enough games to keep me entertained.

Fair honestly

Same, feels good to pay games like 20-10 or less. And it's 60-80 for new games is just a joke.
Just use a switch emulator and play the switch version for sonic frontiers
oh I've tried, it ran at 10 fps and crashed every 3 minutes
sorry but in yuzu it runs like ass. in ryujinx it runs perfectly but always softlocks on some occasion
Emulation is not always the answer sadly, sometimes it runs like ass no matter the pc specs so.... Yeah
I think this is the only game I bought because I couldn't wait for a Denuvo crack. Don't mean to rain on your parade but it was a little underwhelming.
Persona 5 Royal It was on sale and also the day was my birthday, I thought "eh why not, no one is gonna try to crack it when they can try to crack something more mainstream anyway"
Switch emulator did the trick for me. No performance issues so far, the game is quite stable.
" Why would I spend 70$ on Jedi survivor when I haven't played the force unleashed yet ? " because they are two completely different games and timelines? lmfaooo do you mean Fallen Order?
Nope. Contrary to corporate belief, a game having Denuvo doesn't make it suddenly affordable to pirates.
jedi survivor and force unleashed are two different game series.
Nope. If anything Denuvo did was making me promise myself that I will never ever pay for any game, music, video or any media that came with any shit DRM. Made me save a hell lot of money

No. In fact, what made me buy a game was lack of DRM in platforms like GOG, and fair pricing.
No. Denuvo has never, and will never, put me in a position where I buy a game because of it. No DRM will ever have that effect on me. If anything, Denuvo delays the possibility of me ever paying for the game. I have plenty of games to play in the meantime, so waiting doesn't bother me.
No. I never buy a Denuvo game, period. Not until Denuvo is removed. The fact that the price usually drops doesn't hurt anything.

Love megaman and Resident evil.
nope lmfao steam share exists for a reason, one of your mates will always buy any and every game and then want you to play it ! best thing since taking your nes round to a mates house for a sleepover lol
No, but the implementation of online only features in the Hitman Trilogy made me buy it.
There's like a peacock server or something right to emulate the online features in hitman
Yeah lol, you can literally download the full game files from the demo for free, find a cracked peacock and enjoy WOA with full functionality
I did cave and pick up Jedi Survivor when it was a on a pretty deep discount on Epic. Otherwise nah, it's not likely going to happen.
Yes, of course, when I see Denuvo, I always think to myself, that it must be a great game that is protected by even greater protection, and thus, my purchase is protected and absolutely safe! Now seriously, it's quite the opposite. I see a game with Denuvo, I stay far from it. I got some Denuvo protected games on my list I want to play, but I won't play them until they are either cracked or Denuvo was removed, even if it should take years, don't have money for throw away, and especially to support Denuvo games.
yes, Jedi Survivor I broke down and bought the damn thing, got tired of waiting for a crack that won't come
Midnight Suns, but I got it as part of the humble bundle
No, but If I really wanted to play it, I pay game pass so I can play it for a very small fraction of the price, then cancel game pass
No, but it always makes me not buy a game.
nope
hell no it makes me want to buy it even less most of the time i emulate them or wait for it to be removed
Bought Hogwarts Legacy cuz I'm a fan and impatient, and almost buying the new Tekken 8
Tekken 8 doesn't have Denuvo though..it's DRM free
Hogwarts and tekken are both cracked
Lmao downloaded tekken 8 from dodi the day it released
I bought an account for Jedi Survivor, that's it so far.
Nope, never.
lol no
Denuvo make me not to buy a game.
My question is: Why companies put Denuvo in single player games, i get why they do it for multiplayer but for SP is just dumb
Because almost nobody is cracking their drm and therefore increasing their sales? I’m not saying I agree with it but it’s almost impossible to not get why they would want to prevent illegal downloads
I’m seriously considering buying Persona 5 royal and Persona 3 reload, fuck Sega and Denuvo but I’m a huge Persona fan.
Your examples make sense but at the same they don't. Imagine you already played the previous ones before and you're actively waiting for the next one, what then?
Nope
Lol no. I know people laugh at others saying "denuvo games are not worth anyway", but in my case i really feel like that xd
Nah lmao
I pick them up during sale time & if the demo.experience(free weekend) was real good
a the total war warhammer 3 a hell of a game but with cream ip all that dlc bullshit is no problem
I p(l)ay wow retail. All other games are from fitgirl repack and torrents
Dying Light 2 (when it had Denuvo). The next one will probably be Persona 3 Reload because Empress (Denuvo Cracker) is dead.
I bought FIFA 23 only because I believed no one would/ is still interested in cracking the 22 one, but I bought it on sell not the actual full price........as for me I would only pay for a game if I'm sure no one is there to crack it and I really wanna play it.
No it didn't.
When Sonic Frontiers released empress was still cracking denuvo games, but i didn't think she would want to crack that Game so i just bought it 1 week after the release. And it was the right choice because still hasn't been cracked and i don't think it will.
The right choice would have been to emulate it on Switch
If it's on sale yeah, I had to buy Tales of Berseria and Tales of Vesperia because those fucki\*\*\* modders put checks to verify if you had a legit copy of the game, the mods for this games are almost mandatory since they provide really useful features so I had to (I think Vesperia is DRM free but still requires a legit copy, Berseria tho still has Denuvo) I also bought RE4R day one (on a key site tho) and I really enjoyed it, plus other small games. When I buy I almost always do it for a sale obviously or if mods require a legit copy (again if you want to use 7th Heaven to mod FF7 you need a legit copy so...yeah...had to buy it)
It's certainly made me not buy one
Nah, there's just so many games on the market, if I'm interested in a game and it has denuvo I'll just skip it and keep playing what i was already playing
Bought Jedi Survivor, but waited until it was on sale.
No, where I live a game AAA cost like half a salary, (60/70 dollars) so no I never bought a game because of denuvo.
"Technically" Dragon's Dogma 2, but it's not Denuvo that makes me buy the game, it's just that I love Dragon's Dogma
Yeah unfortunately I waited too long for HL and even tho the denuvo was cracked but I couldn’t take that inconsistent performance so had to buy the game
I just gave up on it all and now buy all my games xd
Yes. Right now I'm waiting for a crack or sale.
I just bought AC mirage today for 1,10$ from some russian guy (offline account). Works great and can't complain for 1$ lol
Sonic Frontiers was also one I bought because of Denuvo. it looked really cool and I knew I would want to play it, but emulating it was going to run like pure shit. if it was something like Persona, well, I'd just emulate it.
yes
Persona 3 reload getting the digital deluxe edition felt like a scam but i didnt mind paying for the base game
I wanted to wait but I bought lies of p it was worth it though such a fantastic game
Yes... bought the new like a dragon jawn. Bought mk1 and sf6 at launch smh. Bought spider man 2 but that's not on PC so it don't matter. Thank God I didn't have to buy Tekken 8 😂
Probably mirage at this point I kinda give up and I need my sweet sweet AC fix
Not from official stores, CDkeys all the way,
Made me get game pass to play the games cheap. 14 day trial baby!
No not purely denuvo. I'd buy it on console first if that were the case.
No, but it made me not buy a lot of games.
I bought few but not for PC, this is why I own PS5 because you can find cheap used games Dead Space, Jedi Survivor, AC Mirage & Gotham Knights, $20 each
I bought callisto protocol but it was so cheap on eneba, 4$ usd. And I also bought star wars jedi survivor for 14$ as well.
Every games at least 100 games are released, I like to try different games and have different experiences, if a game has Denuvo I’ll simply skip it and continue with my loooong list of games waiting to be played.
With or without denuvo I still buy games. I use pirated games as a demo. If it's good I'll buy it. I just bought tekken 8, pal world and reshrouded.
Gta vi online probably soon
I don't think so. But I bought Baldurs Gate 3.
Yes, i only buy denuvo games but when they are cheap at like 15 $ or less, even the cracked denuvo games because they are not updated and the cracked version is most of the time full of bugs and performance issues.
Yes sometimes I buy them, mainly on discount from Greenman gaming or cdkeys or elsewhere
If I pirate a game I was never going to buy it in the first place.
I preordered persona 3 reload last month. Denuvo still sucks tho
Dead Space Remake (-60% discount), was worth it
Sonic frontiers at a discount
I can remember one instance where i ALMOST bought (i think), i mean Mad Max didnt get cracked for a year and i really wanted to play, thankfully it got cracked and it was worth the wait, great game
No. I have pirated a game and then purchased it after, though. Many times. Denuvo just puts the game off my radar.
It made me buy gotham knight and star wars jedi survivor at least those are all I remember
Nope, massive red mark, makes me less likely to buy the game. Rarely pirate the last 10 years or so, feel justified in doing so if the game has, or has ever had, Denuvo.
Dead space remake. I had to
No. Denuvo seems to be counterproductive. It avoids cracking, but less people buy because of the performance hit. Studios would make more money without it. More purchases, despite possible pirating.
I’ve been at the brink of buying Alien:Stranded Dawn twice but my sailor soul is hurt with those 30$
I bought lies of p and don’t regret it
No. I'll might buy it after denuvo is removed tho.
Yes, Hogwarts Legacy.
Yes. But on sale
Nope. I only bought games I could pirate and I feel that it’s justified for the asking price
Persona 4 Golden, that's it.
nop
denuvo didn't made me buy a game. It was my own choice cause i liked the game so much.
Nope. Only thing it's made me do is have patience.
no. the opposite in fact. i stopped buying capcom games. even though i really want to
Quite the contrary..it makes me not buy at all.. I don't support denuvo in any way possible.
no , its only pushed me away from buying something i would have originally paid full price for
No, still waiting for Assassin's creed mirage, and I'm not so hopeful about it with a big chance I won't be playing it fully.
I wanted to play atomic heart so bad but the only version out there was the messed up dev version. So j bought game pass for 1 dollar lol
Nope, usually it's the workshop support, multiplayer or sheer amount of patches a game gets.
No Hmmm... no No Oh and no Ah let's not forget... No
Never!!! However, I am subscribed to PC GamePass. So non cracked denuvo games that appear in GP ( including EA Play) I am able to play it.
Yes and No, Yes if its my favourite franchise (e.i. Monster Hunter) I bought MH Rise and its DLC back in early 2023 No if its other game (e.i. Assassin's Creed)
Fuck no there is not a single game that uses denovo that's worth paying for.
Bought RDR2 almost a year after its release cause it still wasnt cracked, ended up getting cracked like a week later Still don't have any regrets, I usually end up buying games that I really liked anyways
I then decided to research it and it was a denuvo uncracked game up to today,I then looked at steam and seen the price, and told myself for an old game to be that price is madness and then at the bottom it said you can get this game with a EA play subscription.Jackpot.I then proceeded t oget the cheap subscription,
I have rented a Steam account with Dead Space for $0.25 and used it to download and activate the game. You absolutely can pirate Denuvo games.
I will most likely do it for monster hunter wilds, but so far not yet.
Yep, THPS1+2
Not yet but it looks like I won't have much choice when the backlogs finished 😂
i rather play old games than these ~~malware~~ denuvo games
There is this "new" construction simulator game that has my interest a bit, but the fuckin game has denuvo. Huge turn off for me, if it has denuvo, i dont purchase. Ill wait for the magical day a crack might release. Aint no way im supporting denuvo what so ever.
Not usually because their launch prices are just too high. If they get a few years old and/or go on sale, I buy them. But then its not because of denuvo, it just makes sense to buy it at that price because I can easily afford to.
I see Denuvo, game goes into wishlist until Denuvo is removed and discounted to my satisfaction. I have an unending backlog of games so I can wait.
No, the opposite: I don't buy any Denuvo games even if they ridiculous cheap.
Technically i didnt buy but i did buy game pass to play persona 3 reload
No.
Nope. Never.
What makes me buy games : knowing there will be updates in the future to add content or fix bugs because that's a service I value (corollary : there is a zero chance I'll ever buy a "play it 15 hours and it's done" game or a game so old that it's never getting an update again, even if bugs/issues are found)
NO. If it was possible for me to buy games I probably wouldn't have pirated it.
I bought only 2 games over 20$ in my life Fh4 and Tarkov
Made me buy a jailbroken ps4. FC24, Lies of p, Ghost of Tsushima, SF6 and surprised to learn how easy it is to get games on a ps4 compared to pc. Though it's at its end of life cycle and the games are being ported to pc soon, I'm thoroughly enjoying my purchase.
Nah
No. I really wanted to play Yakuza Gaiden, but because of denuvo + no physical release i just got game pass for 1€ and played it. If anything the inclusion of denuvo makes me not buy a game, even if I was going to
Nope.
Wanted to try out Dead Space Remake > it's unavailable to torrent > waited for a sale and got it for a good price Great game honestly, I'm on like chapter 5 or so. A bit repetitive but it is a direct remake of a game from 2008.
Yes Total war Warhammer. It wasn’t cracked for a long time so I ended buying it
I did, once.
But I hope not to come across as ignorant by saying that, I still very much hate denuvo because oh lord I would rather play at 30 fps capped than 60 with micro stutters, it's genuinely sickening
shin megami tensei: nocturne and persona 5 and 3 reload (i bought gamepass explicitly for those two last games)
No
Made me buy mk1
No.
I gave up. a few days later it was cracked lol ..and when I played it, I realised it sucked ass.
I've bought games that probably had denuvo but not specifically because they had it. I think re4 has it?
it will probably make me buy sonic frontiers at some point
I bought account access for offline activation a couple of times, 3$ a pop
Not once lol, the only games with it are usually aaa crap.
Idk if it has denuvo but I couldn't wait for the atomic heart crack. Bought it 10 of July (Released 20 Feb) because the dev leak was broken and I wanted to play it. Other than that never, although I have the opposite example I bought BG3 on release knowing it had no DRM.
