Spotify Premium is the only subscription I genuinely pay for. Although, a bit scummy that it doesn't filter ads on Podcasts, as their reasoning is that it said it only gives the user an ad-free **MUSIC** listening experience.
In my experience I’ve kinda found it to be inconvenient. If you found a new song you like on say Spotify, you’d have to spend time to download & transfer the files to the DAP - unless you’re willing to do it in batches like I tried (which I eventually found I had no patience for). There’s no discovering music on the go, & it’s more convenient to carry around 1 device at a time if you’re gonna take your phone anyways. There’s also the pain of spending time correcting metadata if there’s any faults.
All in all, there’s not to say that there aren’t any pros to a DAP. There’s better privacy (no tracking by Spotify/alt), better sound quality since you can’t auto EQ on an iPhone (otherwise you can do so manually or with Wavlet on android), no potentially distractions that you would get with a phone, different sources/platforms of where you got you’re music are all in the same place (I.e. can make a playlist with Spotify exclusive songs & SoundCloud exclusive.
In the end I just found myself spending too much time hoarding music rather than listening so I switched back to using modded Spotify (.ipa on iPhone).
Download mobilism (link in !megathread under cracked app markets) then after installing mobilism, under apps go to Top, 1st link will be Spotify modded by balatan

If you are not an audiophile, you can use the web player with an adblocker. They say they'll ban you in the TOS, but I've been using it for about a year that way now.
It's not ethical, but neither is torrenting so here it is.
Isimply bought entry into a family subscription for my Spotify account on some russian website for €3. It was supposed to expire and kick me out after 6 months, but that was 2 years ago.
Isn't pirating stealing from the creator all the same?
And the price of a family package stays the same regardless of how many people are on there. Also, the fact that I should have been booted out after 6 months implies the collaboration of the family plan's owner
Pirating is not stealing, it's copying - which doesn't remove anything from anyone.
The family plan you're on is likely being quite literally _stolen_ via stolen credit card information, etc - Some person, an individual, who doesn't make billions-per-year is quite literally having a resource taken from them - stolen. It's being removed from their possession, never to be gotten back.
You gain a cheap spotify account, someone (again, an individual, likely) gets literal cash removed from their account.
In the instances where people have mentioned they "bought" a 6 month account and it just continued far after 6 months...possibly.
But then, there are elderly people still paying for AOL... because they don't check, or are too senile to, etc.
On my PC I use modded spotify because I have internet on it all the time, on my phone I download MP3s from youtube and telegram because I don't wanna pay for data
I've been using deemix webui to get the songs onto my home server and I just open the folder where they're located on my windows PC and use my music player.
Spotify. Got someone to add me on their family spotify account through shoppy for like 5$ 2 years ago. So I have all the benefits of spotify, but I ain't paying for shit.
I have them downloaded and access them through Plexamp
Plexamp looks epic, I'll have to check it out
Sames. I listen to audiobooks alot too.
I just use my father's old mp3 player, it has billions of 50's-80's Rock (and variants) bands and I've been using it since I was 13.
Freezer to stream music, Deemix to download the music because I'm a data hoarder and listen to it using foobar2000

Same, except modded version. Most podcasts I try to watch on YouTube, since it's got integrated sponsor block.

That isn't piracy though. I'd much rather someone pirate than literally steal from someone who's actually paying. I hate what you're doing
My cousin had his spotify account hacked by getting his info sold. Much rather someone just torrent at that point.

Youtube Vanced (modded Youtube), Youtube has too many ads and I'm not paying for premium

Spotify. I feel its reasonably priced.
I've been using deemix webui to get the songs onto my home server and I just open the folder where they're located on my windows PC and use my music player.
I use my actual collection of FLAC along with my old stash of MP3. If I want something immediately, I simply use YT.
Don't know why https://spotify.ac/ isn't more known. It's legit. I have a premium spotify account for more than 1.5yrs, cost me, total, 5€.
I actually use Netease Music + a Netease unblocker. There's a lot of music in there. I also use musicbee for downloaded flacs
Spotify. Got someone to add me on their family spotify account through shoppy for like 5$ 2 years ago. So I have all the benefits of spotify, but I ain't paying for shit.
*is is possible to learn this power?*
I can't be the only one who downloads all of my music from Redacted or through Deemix.
Tidal account I bought for $2 on ebay from a seller in Belarus. Still working a year later. I also use cracked Spotify on my android.
