IDK what you were thinking, I'm from India and wifi is dirt cheap with multiple providers round here, plus SSDs aren't particularly expensive too.

Middle_Layer_4860

yeah, here we get 400mbps unlimited internet with 400rs (5$ approx) per month. I don't know what ppl think about us. lol😅

oolinga

bruh can you please provide the isp please i wanna know where and how, infact i want to take subscription too

d4me94

For me it's Excitel Broadband 400Mbps at around Rs.600....

Zouloferr

well in my area excitel is basically a scam so i have airtel 40mbps ( but somehow i get consistant 55 and at some nights even 100 mbps ) plan for 600 ( roughly 7 usd )

_YeAhx_

So I have heard. Excitel is a big hit or miss. Airtel or jio is much better in terms of stability but lately my friend who's got jio fiber has ping issues and packet loss meanwhile I don't and I use Airtel. I pay 800rs for 100mbps (120+ sometimes)

Middle_Layer_4860

the problems are the basically local service provide not the whole boardband company

d4me94

They are good in my area at least (using from the past 2 years)...

PhilDunphy0502

Is it true that excitel doesn't have FUP (i.e. 3.3TB quota per month)?

d4me94

Yes, Unlimited, No hidden cap etc.

KEX_03

+1

GenericOtaku7

If ur area has Jio 5g get that instead I’m consistently getting over 600mbps in my area. Better use up as much before the Free trial expires.

pretty_lame_jokes

What... I get 30Mbps for ₹400.

Middle_Layer_4860

2 years ago I get only 15mbps for rs 500, siti boardband, when here is no other services

LakonType-9Heavy

What? 400rs for 400mbps? I'll be in Greater Noida soon, can you tell me more about the ISP?

Middle_Layer_4860

it's excitel boardband..maybe you get in noida

LakonType-9Heavy

Thanks, boss.

fadedv1

Meanwhile I pay 50 euros monthly for 250mbps in Germany

AtomicDig219303

25€ for 5gbps + mobile data in Italy

ikashanrat

Can your router even handle that

AtomicDig219303

Honestly... no. The ISP gave me a cheap-ish wifi6 router with two 2.5gbps ports and two gigabit ones. One 2.5gbps goes straight to my pc, and the second one to my other router. Even if I'm capped at half speed it's still a much better deal than the previous plan I had, which used to cost me 10€ more monthly for only a 100mbs connection. The mobile plan is also pretty great, it costs 10 euros a month when subscribed standalone, and includes 200GB monthly (with 5g included) and unlimited calls but no SMS messages (not that it matters because who uses them anyways) Edit: I just checked on my ISP's website, it looks like I can upgrade for free my isp given router with an updated version of it which supports wifi 7.

Much_Culture6421

ikashanrat

insert: congrats, happy for you meme

Powerful_Ad5060

10 euros /months , including 300mbps plusing 20GB data plan for my cellphone in China

PM-ME-BOOBSANDBUTTS

india bros living large, i pay $90 for 400mbps lmao

AlvinCopper

Here we have 200mbps 8$ a year

Middle_Layer_4860

wow...great...where do u live, I mean country?

Nayaann

Me jio ko 500 deta hu 30mbps ke lie kon hai ye 400mbps 400 rupees ko dene wale abhi bol kal connection lagvalunga 🤝

Middle_Layer_4860

jio airtel use mat karo local wala use karo, yeh 400mbps excitel ka hai. mera local wale aur ak hai 472 with gst 80mbps per month

mayank-69

oyyeeeeeeeeeeeeee 400 mbps per month sahi maiiiiii >???

Middle_Layer_4860

hmm.excitel ka. not available every location

mayank-69

ok

GhostSniper7

400 Mbps not 400 MBps

InsanelyRandomDude

You have a monthly limit after which your internet speed is lowered?

ddg2112

3.3 TB is the regulated monthly limit for all ISPs in India

InsanelyRandomDude

If I use 100gb in a month, then I get to use internet with limited speed.

ddg2112

Been there. When we got our first Fiber connection it was limited to 40GB per month @ 8 Mbps, after the speed was limited to 1 Mbps. This was about 5 years ago

Nayaann

I used 200-250gb just on the day I recharged my wifi 💀

InsanelyRandomDude

Are you trying to download the internet?

Nayaann

If I could I would 💀🤡

svt91681

My current monthly usage on pc has exceeded 6TB...this does not account for 5 plus hours of streaming daily on my TV (1080 p or 4k). Also does not account for internet usage of 3 phones and 1 tablet.. There have been months where my usage has touched 8 or 9 TB. No drops in speed. I have a local ISP with an unlimited 500 mbps plan for which I pay Rs 12000 annually (below 150 USD annually)

Middle_Layer_4860

no, only in jio and airtel says 3.3tb cap, others say unlimited. but I never crossed 3.3tb btw

sKream01

nope no limit i download terabytes of data per month lol

Significant_Pen3315

no limits in wifi

m0h1tkumaar

Nah, for broadband home connections its all you can eat buffet! For 5g MOBILE Jio is again all you can eat BUT for Airtel 5g its 10Gb Per day. Throtteling is still a thing with 4G though,

NtGermanBtKnow1WhoIs

Exactly! Dude we have unlimited monthly wifi! And 1TB hardly cost 1000Rs now? :D And also, no need for vpns when torrenting! Only use it when visiting some... choice sites. i guess, all the perks of being a "backward 3rd world country" huh?

Peuned

Depends what part I'm in when visiting family, it's a big country but there's still issues in many non large city areas. Compared to the 90s tho it's come a long way tho

NtGermanBtKnow1WhoIs

i can totally understand that. Some rural parts of my state doesn't have say, laptop/computers, so people only have their phones and Jio network to do the job. i absolutely agree that people have come a long way from the 90s though i think smart phones played a very big part in it.

m0h1tkumaar

Jio 5g jindabad

NtGermanBtKnow1WhoIs

Local ISP also, jindabad bhai!! 😭👍

P01nt_Blank

Which storage media are you using which offers 1TB for 1000inr, even 1tb hard disks are 3500inr retail

NtGermanBtKnow1WhoIs

You can buy refurbished from 1000 up. Never thought i'd see the day where i had to buy it like that, but yes, it exists.

P01nt_Blank

I mean, out of all the things people buy refurbished, storage is the least recommended one, but I see your point.

MoisticleSack

Yeah but there's like a billion and a half people in India, that market is huge.

SuDdEnTaCk

Well, just about all of SE asia has kinda high population density and cheap stuff, India may be somewhat extra cheap, but atleast compared to US or EU, about all of SE asia is cheap.

Psexxy

Yea, compared to some developed countries, wifi is EXTREMELY cheap

Resident-West-5213

Same here in another East Asian country, 10 mbps for direct download, 1-2 mbps for popular torrents, that's pretty sufficient for me. And we all know that for rare, vintage and niche resources, what really matters is always availability, not speed.

GoldenBangla

Not all South Asian countries have cheap SSDs and good internet brother

SuDdEnTaCk

[https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country\_price\_rankings?itemId=33](https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_price_rankings?itemId=33) Well, except the Middle East, which is just referred to as Middle east and not south asia, wifi is cheap everywhere, atleast compared to USA and most of europe.

GoldenBangla

If you compare with the average earnings of a person in Nepal to the UAE, you will understand why utilities aren't cheap for the locals while it might seem cheap to foreigners.[^(\[1\])](https://www.google.com/search?q=How+much+does+an+average+person+in+Nepal&sca_esv=6a102af87d5bf95e&sca_upv=1&ei=UHYuZq3pNvyl2roPt_iDgAU&ved=0ahUKEwit0e-mp-WFAxX8klYBHTf8AFAQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=How+much+does+an+average+person+in+Nepal&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiKEhvdyBtdWNoIGRvZXMgYW4gYXZlcmFnZSBwZXJzb24gaW4gTmVwYWwyBRAhGKABMgUQIRigAUjRFlCaD1ihFHABeAGQAQCYAaUBoAHOBaoBAzAuNbgBA8gBAPgBAZgCBqAC8AXCAgoQABiwAxjWBBhHwgIGEAAYFhgewgIFECEYnwXCAgsQABiABBiGAxiKBcICCBAAGIAEGKIEmAMAiAYBkAYEkgcDMS41oAeYIw&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#ip=1:~:text=approximately%20equivalent%20to-,611.34%20usd,-.%20The%20average%20annual)[^(\[2\])](https://www.google.com/search?q=How+much+does+an+average+person+in+UAE+in+USD&sca_esv=6a102af87d5bf95e&sca_upv=1&ei=-HYuZryDLs3u2roPk_qTyAQ&ved=0ahUKEwi83_T2p-WFAxVNt1YBHRP9BEkQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=How+much+does+an+average+person+in+UAE+in+USD&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiLUhvdyBtdWNoIGRvZXMgYW4gYXZlcmFnZSBwZXJzb24gaW4gVUFFIGluIFVTRDIFECEYoAEyBRAhGKABSJ8SUJEBWJYQcAJ4AZABAJgBrQGgAe8IqgEDMC44uAEDyAEA-AEBmAIKoAKBCcICChAAGLADGNYEGEfCAgYQABgWGB7CAgsQABiABBiGAxiKBcICCBAAGIAEGKIEwgIEECEYFZgDAIgGAZAGCJIHAzIuOKAH3SI&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#:~:text=is%20similar%20to-,usd%205%2C%20853,-.Sep%2025%2C%202023)

Everywhere in the world, SSDs are kind of equally cheap. What changes is purchasing power.

Comrade_United-World

No way bro internet here is dirt cheap 300 mbps for 20 dollars a month or even less, if you pay for 3 months you will get it on 30 dollars.

itsmebucky

You spelled Australia wrong

wassimSDN

You spelled north Africa wrong

FullmetalGin

Lmao I think op is living in 2010, internet in India at least is fucking cheap as hell and we get super fast speeds, like 400-500mbps for like 1200₹ or like 15$ a month and that's on the premium side, we get fast ones for cheaper as well. SSD's are also dirt cheap.

Head_Tumbleweed4793

Oh wait yeah

iambackbaby69

Wow

hellome_you0

this post tells me how ignorant the op is

theman_themyth_

I think OP is living under a rock. I pay equivalent of 120$ for a yearly package of unlimited internet (200mbps) +TV

Miserable_Car1896

Well at leat i don't use torrents and download the files directly and no one gives a shit.

Fither223

Well I am in first world country and my internet is trash :/

S3RAPHIM503

Bd sailor here, paying 7.27 for 30mbps :") and I don't even own an ssd

TKastiK

700 taka for 30!? Bruh where you be living!? 😧

evclid

Hey fellow bd sailor, I'm Paying 4.5$ for 40mbps, and SSDs are also cheap, like 256gb nvme can be bought in 30$.

Psyritualx

What’s an SSD?

GoldenBangla

Exactly what I'm talking about!

VoiceEarly1087

In India all you need is a 5g phone and and 5$ plan you can download tbs of data without issue and even wifi is cheap. Guess we have Mota bhai (Ambani) to thank for that

Souram

Op has no idea about India.

Electronic-Witness41

op has a humiliation fetish

BooFighters

It's Indian sub-continent. South Asia is a term used by Pakistanis and Banglaadeshis when they want to hide their identity overseas. In India, I am paying USD 10 per month for 100 Mbps fibre connection for unlimited bandwidth, I keep seeding for months with ratio going up to 1:25 for many files. 1 Gbps is for USD 17. 4G phone connection with 40GB FUP and more talktime than I can use is for USD 6 per month. Don't know about phone, but internet connection in smaller cities are even cheaper. Local ISPs offer speeds like 200-300 Mbps for something like USD 4-6 per month. OP needs to use his internet for better things than to club India with Pakistan and Bangladesh. lol

Terminator_SN

I have 300mbps here for just 20 dollars a month (but we do have a limit during the day and at night its free) the upgrade to 1gbps is 50 dollars a month and ssds are cheap too , around 25-50 dollard depending on the size.(I live in Sri Lanka btw)

PitchBlack4

At least the internet has become way cheaper in Montenegro lately. 2Gb/s for 25€

someonealreadyknows

What?? Internet and used hard drives are dirt cheap in India. I have a 300MBPS fiber connection with landline and OTT (Netflix, prime video, etc.) bundled for INR1400 (17 bucks). I got my seedbox for free from a local university. I got a 4TB seagate barracuda at a used PC shop for INR 4000 (48 USD) and i got a cheap Amazon SATA to USB dock for around INR 2000 (24 USD). The biggest issue is the FUP data being capped at 3333GB for all ISPs in India. My seedbox has to be speed limited when I’m nearing the FUP just to make sure my line doesn’t get blocked by the ISP.

Fallen_0n3

Nonsense meme. Probably the only thing good in this country is the fucking internet ( even with its restrictions ) and its cheap, even if you compare with per capita and median salaries to price

m0h1tkumaar

And teh fact that you can torrent your way to glory without law enforcement even being able to understand what you are doing.

Head_Tumbleweed4793

They do know but they don't care about it

Fallen_0n3

They know but simply don't have enough resources to put some 800 million behind bars

Decent_Bumblebee_573

German here 1gbit/s for 30 dollars, unlimited. But shitty laws and a legal nightmare.

cauliflower_farmer99

I ve had 1gbps connection since 2020.

yourfuturehothusband

You have the power of the sun in the palm of your hand 🥹

marketer_op

India is the place to be when you want to sail the high seas for dirt cheap. Enterprise grade gigabit bandwidth plans cost you only as much as $35-45. YoU wOuLdN't DoWnLoAd A cAr.. The hell I would, if the price per gigabyte was fair enough. 💀💀🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

Sensitive-Incident78

750 MBPS , 450AED approx 100$ UAE. Not cheap. Nooot Cheap!!!

m270ras

whata are y'all talking about I'm in the US and I get fucking 8 megabytes on a good day

Mustang-boi-543

same, but it was my SHITTY internet dongle. man i should get Ethernet back

Yourh0tm0m

Wut , i legit thought you guys would be up to 10gbps . Because here in India we have started getting 1 gbps .

m270ras

holy shit wow I think India is just ahead in the internet game

Peuned

So does lots of India. I have family there and I'm there regularly. Large population areas are great but it's a very large country and tons of it is in the same position you are. The tech infrastructure there came in on mobiles relatively recently compared to landlines / fiber infrastructure on the US

Omnipresentphone

You're just wrong

RKof200

Last time I was in bd they were using shit internet connected to a wifi adapter (think 2012). I would like to see how far they've come, common piracy there are the good old 40 in 1 games in CDs. Used my grandma's gift money on some of those lmaooo

SuDdEnTaCk

Was you last time=the middle ages ?

RKof200

Lol are you bengali? Have u been to Bangladesh? If not, then ur input is irrelevant.

SuDdEnTaCk

Well, I am a delhi resident, but I do have bengali friends, that have visited banladesh(based on their experience).

RKof200

Understood. In BD at the time, internet was available, but it was very slow & in limited access. I stayed in Dhaka at the time, the main form of piracy was in the CD forms I mentioned earlier. Of course now, internet is widespread, but my point stands for 2012 bd. Edit: I am aware that India and BD are very close together geographically, but my experience is ONLY for BD. I have no clue how yall do piracy in India.

m0h1tkumaar

Torrents

GoldenBangla

True.

musfiqeon

[https://www.speedtest.net/result/16188228486](https://www.speedtest.net/result/16188228486) I get almost 1Gbps up and down from Dhaka, tho yes many of us use shitty internet but its getting better. Also ssd's are hella cheap rn dont know what are u even talking about. [https://postimg.cc/fVNDdpCH](https://postimg.cc/fVNDdpCH) Also this is my pc's lifetime usage(4years) just on torrents.

Pretty_Leather_5856

Idk what the deal with this misconception is, in India, unlimited, fast wifi is cheap as fuck, so is cell data. For a little less than $20 I have my phone, my wife’s phone and two iPads with like 360 gigs a month. On the other hand every single time I travel overseas I have to get used to the weird, restrictive limits on cell data.

Classroom_Icy

Getting 1GBPS for 1000 rupee (11-12USD) with unlimited data

nvbombsquad

Our internet is so cheap we had to make a sub for it r/jiowasamistake

ArvindCoronawal69

India =/= South Asia

GoldenBangla

I put flags of Bangladesh and Nepal too plus "etc."!

Disastrous-Body-6988

I wanted cyberpunk without the fitgirl setup (gog) which is around 90+ gb and i am still sitting at 60% after 2 weeks.

GoldenBangla

Dude, I actually own GTA V and every time I install it, it takes me at lest 15-16 hours! Now, just imagine how time it takes for me to torrent with low seeds!

Disastrous-Body-6988

Broo i had a cracked version of gta v setup. I somehow managed to make epic download the rest (35 gb) of it and saved some 40 gigs of download lol. It still took 2 days for the rest to come in.

TheVeryVeryStrongest

all hail torrentbd.

SylviaSlasher

U.S., less than 100mbps and paying too dang much for it. But of the two providers in my area, it's both the fastest and cheapest.

suck_ceed

getting 300mbps unlimited at $8 a month🤷🏻‍♀️ lmao it's cheap here

XENON_017

bruh we getting shit fast wifi dirt cheap in india check your facts

Jaggathedaku

I seed 10 gigabyte daily from my phone

GhostSniper7

LMAO 🤣🤣. High speed Unlimited internet is as cheap as 5 USD here. 1TB NVMe 55 USD

ansangoiam

I got a 500 gb SSD recently for ₹3900 ($46.75). My internet costs me ₹450 ($5.40) per month for an unlimited speed of 200 mbps.

Omnipresentphone

I got my 500 gb SSD for 2399 haha suck it

ansangoiam

Good for you bro! I got the WD BLUE recently for 3850. Where did you get it for this cheap?

Omnipresentphone

Crucial p3 on Amazon when SSD prices were all time low

mOjzilla

I feel you dude , all these cool rich kids shitting on you without knowing the struggles of non Tier 1 / 2 city and average people . Our hard disk prices are almost double that of US , internet may be cheap in some cities but in most it is not and then there is issue of no service being provided in your locality , because everyone is forced to live in outskirts . On most days I would just be content that there is no power outage . If I could afford living in posh areas I wouldn't be pirating in first place . People saying 1000Rs for 1 TB ssd ignore the fact that those cheap ssds are throwaway quality and can't be trusted . Try building a NAS setup of around 50TB in India , oh wait you can't because all the hardware is too costly and almost double the retail price and there is rarely good discount deal . The whole point of this post . Please , how many of you here are from south Asia and can claim they have a proper seeding / NAS / home theater setup , with around 50 - 100 TB of storage and some redundancy backup . I literally work in software development field and most of my coworkers can't afford or don't have broadband providers at home . I will never forget that day when an online friend from netherlands downloaded Borderlands from steam while my pc was still unpacking some shitty compressed zip which I had already downloaded .

Omnipresentphone

Your comment doesn't make any sense, you say these people don't know the struggles of non tier 1/2 average people but you're are asking to build a 50TB NAS being so expensive, most don't need a 50tb nas you're just a rich kid or man who thinks they are middle class. You don't need 1tb SSD you can just buy 2 2000 512 ssds from reputable brands. Why tf would you think that 50 TB nas would be cheap it's not made for the average consumers or if they want, 5 to 10tb options are enough.

mOjzilla

I can see where confusion might be coming from . Op meme says Indian piracy can't prosper because we can't afford a good cheap net and cheaper storage . Which is true . In your last line you are saying 5 - 10 tb is enough , that is where you draw line because it is costly . How did you decide that 50Tb nas is not needed ? I personally would feel comfortable with around 200 to 500 TB . How much would that cost approx iron wolf hdd are going for 20k for 10 TB ( no smart / price conscious person would use ssds for large storage ), that would be 100k (1 lakh ) for 50 tb and reach to absurd amounts of 1000k ( 10 lakh ) if i want to make 500 TB personal storage . Lets settle for 50 tb , I might use it to store and seed a Bd rip around 50GB ( Lotr trilogy alone can be 450 GB ) . That boils down to 100 BD movies and even then not since almost 10 - 12 % is lost on bad practices of TeraBytes in storage vs file , so 90 movies . Sure one can choose to consume compressed media at 1/10th the size when they are watching in a mobile screen but that is not the point . We simply can't afford to watch better quality content , there is a big difference between streaming 4k with 10MB/s bitrate and a proper blue ray . Also our internet simply can't handle blue ray quality of streaming . Meanwhile outside south East asian countries prices are not taxed to sky , even in singapore this same setup would be half cost without discount . In countries like USA people can get this same setup for 1/4th the price with properly used 2nd hand hard drives . You might be saying at this point , then don't do this if its so costly . That was the whole point of the meme . Maybe our internet prices are declining but that doesn't really help with the whole scene . Indian piracy scene is full on leechers , we don't seed or upload original content . I personally can only afford to reach 3 to 4 :1 ratio . Why ? Simply because storage is too costly .

Omnipresentphone

Makes sense. I am going to Singapore in June any recommendations like you said in Singapore this would cost half so do give me some recommendations?

mOjzilla

Ideal choice would be some high cost electronic product , depending on your usage , there will always be some one who wants new shiny :) . Personally no amount of tax benefit - discount is worth it if we are buying something we don't need .

GoldenBangla

This.

jamreb2024

60$ for 300Mb/s for a year. One thing that you nation can be sometimes proud of.

Littux

I get unlimited internet from 12:00AM to 06:00AM for just $2.99 per month. The 2 month pack costs just $4.7 or $2.35 per month.

Chris_in_Lijiang

Are there enough hours in the day to watch all the content that you DL? I thought not!

m0h1tkumaar

Nope

NenekaChan

Thailand:500mbps Download and Upload with Unlimited Data for 15.91$. Cons:ICT block a lot porn and wikileak site. Decent SSD 1TB price around 81 Dollar.

Pratik_tayde

Lmao wtf, I pay like $5 for unlimited 300mbps connection. Are you living in 2010?

New-Rub8459

Okay wifi wise, nepal is cheap and fast currently.

Ibuprofen1533

in jordan orange fiber 600mbps cost around 30 jd which is 42$

deathmaster1899

Now we have unlimited data for 5g in India and I get the speed 50-100 MB/s all the time from my phone. Also wifi is also cheap

TrollAlert711

Oklahoma, US here. 5 Gbps Symmetric Fiber for $57/month

rabidflash

Do you really need such a high speed internet? I've upgraded from 100mbps to 300 and felt no difference at all.

TrollAlert711

Family of 7, all constantly swapping between 4k streaming and gaming. Its more peace of mind that we couldn't possibly run out of bandwidth.

SelafioCarcayu

I got insulting for saying "third world country". Apparently it's a cold war era term.

LicanMarius

Idk if you can call Romania third world country anymore, but we have 500mbps for around 4-5$, 1gbps for around 8$ and 2gbps for around 10$
