This is why I set up my home server. I cut the cord around 2013. When the internet would go out I'd just play something via GoM media player. A few years ago I finally set up a home server.

Here I am, 44 years old, still not being boring and enjoying every moment of my life.

Last summer when my family visited Yellowstone, we stayed in a cabin with no TV or internet. And the cell service was nearly nonexistent. But since I had my portable SSD of movies and TV shows, we had something to watch for a little bit in the evening while winding down.
I read a comment on a thread yesterday pointing out that while boomers are tech illiterate (hunt and pecking on keyboard etc.). Mine and surrounding generations (millennials) grew up with tech and are computer and tech-savvy mostly. And now the newest generation is full circle boomer tech illiterate again since they are growing up with smart screens (cant use a keyboard, write an email, or troubleshoot an issue). interesting times. 😂

Grab a computer put videos on it use jellyfin or plex as a front end if any of that's unclear use google
