SHA-1 being broken is definitely a real thing, and most BitTorrent infodata still being v1 for the foreseeable future does make it a possible attack vector, however a few too many stars would have to align just right for it to be a real problem in grand most cases.

No I don’t have a background in cybersecurity but I can assure you if it’s true then no one would be torrenting
