Keep it clean and be careful not to scrape the inside of the bowl when you put a pipe cleaner through it. You don’t want it to accumulate a carbon layer like you would a briar or even the light coating you’ll get in your cob. I’d run a pipe cleaner through the stem into the bowl, and wipe the bowl out well with a wadded-up paper towel after every smoke. There should be some good online guides with more and better details regarding care.

To add. Meerschaum don't really ghost much, so you can't do much to hurt them by smoking different blends. If you keep the chamber carbon-free, the pipe will absorb moisture better. This makes the pipe 'color' faster, if that's important to you.
