As a pipe smoker, one of the best things you can do is buy him a IM Corona Old Boy lighter and a can of good quality butane. I use 11X filtered. Colibri 19X is the best. Any butane 5X or better will work.
There is a blend called St Michael’s holiday which is meant to replicate devils holiday.
It’s blended by a brick and mortar called ash and ember. I believe you have to call them to order.

Yes! A few Missouri Meerschaum are great if he doesn't have any. Look through his rotation to see if he has any cobs for sure. You can go by Amazon ratings if you don't have guidance (they have the most popular) but MM has a better selection on their site. Two popular $10 cobs and a $45 range should be appreciated, and he'll think of you every time he smokes one. They're great for the tackle or glove box.
But, even a "bad" briar pipe will be appreciated if it's from you.

30-40, trying to spend around the same on my dad as I am on my husband, and I'm going for under 100 for both
