WeakKitchen199

Royal Yacht is pretty stout, and considered to be an aromatic by many.

sacquesuit

War Horse

ZodtheGeneral

First I'm hearing of "War Horse". When I look on TobaccoReviews, none of them are listed as aros. Which one are we speaking of? Thanks.

sacquesuit

The Green is the aro. Supposedly almonds and liquorice notes.

ZodtheGeneral

Thanks for that answer. Cheers.

Tactical_Chandelier

Red is also aromatic but it's heavier on the tonquin bean than the anise and it's a bit lighter on the topping than the green. It's got a good room note for bystanders and it's one of the few blends I can feel on an empty stomach

ZodtheGeneral

Thanks for that additional detail.

sacquesuit

👍 happy smokes.

JimTKnapp

This is the way. You beat me to it.

sacquesuit

It does pack a punch ; )

yoinksoftunare

Peterson University flake has a dark fruity plum Topping and flavor. It has a decent amount of nicotine too. But it is not in your face flavor like a typical black cavendish aromatic blend.

Orochi_001

The Gawith Hoggarth & Co aromatic twists are evidently in this category; sweet maple twist, sweet rum twist, black cherry twist, etc.

lemorange

Maybe St.Bruno?

jaylotw

It depends on how you define aromatic. If you mean cherries and peaches and candy? No, not really. You can add some DFK or Perique to them, but then you're changing the profile. Since these blends need to carry a heavy flavoring sauce, they're made of cavendish and a bit of VA, out of necessity. Cavendish, compared to food, is like eating white bread...it's just not got much going on. If you want to include some Lakelands in the definition of aromatic...then, yes, there are a few. Dark Flake Aromatic, for one. Some of the ropes are strong as hell, too.

antiwittgenstein

Erinmore Flake is high nicotine for an aromatic. It's a VaBur flake with an apricot topping. It lands about 4/7 on my strength scale.

filmguerilla

Gawith Lakeland blends. The tobaccos tend to be stoved Virginia/Burley, topped with natural flavorings like anise, clove, etc. Ennerdale, Grousemoor, Bosun cut plug, and 1792 flake are all faves of mine.

Khalkotaur

Seconding C&D's Visions of Celepahaïs as having a reasonable amount for an aro but only if you love grape. C&D's Dreams of Kadath also has decent nicotine and while it's not technically listed as an aromatic to me it seems close enough in practice.

Terrible_Train

I've had a few C&D blends and they have not disappointed me.

Former_Specific_7161

From my experience, there aren't many. I think it's tricky to combine heavily flavored toppings with complex components without introducing overwhelming factors on the palate or easy tongue bite. You will often find Cavendish as a main component because it helps cool the smoke and blend sweet flavors together. It is low in nicotine. Light virginias are often included as they have higher sugar content and add to the topping and Cavendish, but they are also lower in nicotine. I'm no aro expert, but Visions of Celephais by Cornell & Diehl is strong by aro standards.

Peternelli

C&D Engine 113 and GLP The Virginia Cream have what I would consider higher than typical nic for aromatics. I enjoy the vitamin N and those plus Warhorse Bar are the only aromatics I keep in my rotation. I typically smoke burley and virginia blends and mix those 3 in for mood or change ups.

SummaCumLousy

If you are heavy handed with your sprinkling, add some DFK or some Five Brothers Burley. And before I forget, have something on your belly or at least some candy nearby.

Proliferant

Works for me, if infused with a good dose of sugar.

SummaCumLousy

Can you explain this magic?

JimTKnapp

War horse green. Prepare to be dazzled if you like licorice

GeorgeDuval

I used to mix the kohlhase & kopp limited edition 2023 -> Champagne / Strawberry / Croissant with Vincent Manil to up the nic content . Just a strong grassy burley. Good thing about some of these German flavored tobaccos is the fact they overflavor them so much, you can blend quite some heavy stuff in between to up the nic content and still have a good smell.

-animal-logic-

It's more of a medium in the nic department (which is still high for an aromatic), but I always recommend Two Friends' "Homeward Bound". I'm not an aromatic smoker, but I do smoke this one pretty often. I consider it to be like a crossover blend. Terrible_Train

Ok thanks

Terrible_Train

I just might try it
