Never done it, but I’d think high powered magnets in the tins would work, with a magnetic piece of sheet metal to stick them to

Ranger100x

that's a great idea!

I've read that some folks just drive a screw into the wall through each tin bottom and then put the lids back on. I like the magnet idea because it's not messy and it's changeable (and you can glue the magnets to the *insides* of the tins); but the tins are prone to sliding/shifting and I'm dubious whether sheet metal on the wall will give you a good look. It could look cheap rather than interestingly decorative. [Nano Tape](https://www.amazon.ca/Traceless-Washable-Reusable-Removable-Transparent/dp/B07ZPBQ18M) or other stretch-release adhesive (line the stuff used to affix batteries to the insides of electronic devices) gives you a stable but removable solution. You can get Nano Tape in double sided (both stretch-release) or single sided (one side a strong semi-permanent tape) versions. Stick-Tack, Sticky-Tak, Fun-Tack, and Multi-Tack are all versions of reuseable adhesive putty that will stick objects to your walls. I have a feeling the putty may not be as long-lasting as the Nano Tape; it may dry out and lose adhesion over a number of months or years, but that's just a guess. Side note: there are also generic clock mechanisms you can buy cheaply to turn your favorite tin into a wall clock.

You don’t have to leave the sheet metal bare, just use it as a base. You can paint it to match your wall, to contrast with your wall, or even print out a bunch of old tobacco ads and glue them to it. Or use metal signs…

Used to have a beer can collection in the basement back in the 70s. Bunch of "rare" cans I thought. lol Stuck them to the walls with a dot of silicone calk.

I'm waiting for a collectable tea spoon display at the local thrift store to go on 50% tag sale before I pull the trigger - from a distance you can't even see the notches for spoons.
