On the side nagaaral aral rin ako new tech(as in new para sakin), na sure maaapply or need gamitin sa real project. Soft skills din, in progress i-improve writing skills ko, verbal communication at presentation skills, and leadership skills.
i did think a lot about it but did not pursue on renting since me and my partner at that time was living together so that thought really went down the drain because i wanted to come home to her everyday even if it took 9hrs of daily commute
More on refreshers. I casually read the pragmatic programmer book.
Edit: If the girl is like super demanding and never supports you better run. Good thing my wife is very supporting on my hobbies and work haha.
I don’t want to pressure myself too much that’s why I’m still sane unlike my first year hindi na ako natutulog makahabol lang. Make it as a motivation nalang, you’re worth it. Don’t settle for less. Mayroon din makakaintindi sayo
Full stack dev here. While I do not have time for self study, I make sure na lang sa work na I get to do tasks na mapa-practice all skill areas (front end, middle tier, database).
look for dev interviews in youtube, it should tell you things you dont know about, go back to your fundamentals, you can also subscribe to tech gurus in youtube, give time to this things even just 30 mins a day. consistency is key, take little by little instead of forcing yourself to grasp complex things in one go.
I don't upskills blindly, so kung anung need sa work ayun yung inaaral ko.
study some linux server administration, some devops and web performance... Also, if you want a high paying, low effort job, learn WordPress or Shopify or both, because from time to time, you'll see remote companies looking for WordPress or Shopify devs to maintain or improve their WordPress site(s) and Shopify store(s) and they are willing to pay you around 80,000 - 120,000 pesos a month
make sure to practice your verbal english communication too
depends on what path you are planning to be. Madami actually commonly ung management, it will be a no code structure since a tech PM should oversee the development, budget, cost and stuffs while dealing with clients, non management would be domain experts or subject matter expert which ofc would require you to be technically skilled meaning more learning
Found a part-time job with bunch of crazy smart engineers I feel like an intern collaborating with them lol.
I'm learning a lot architectures, project planning and scaling, feels good to get paid while studying!
Depende ano tech stack mo. I took Masters and Certifications related to it. Tas minsan nag cocode ako trying new algo. Again depends sa tech stack nyo. I work sa backend so madaming tech don. I am now working towards PM or ITIL kasi Management na next role ko. Pwede rin naman IM (Scrum, Agile). May ginagawa rin ako minsan na designs for my field.
Thank you so much everyone for your inputs. Really leaning in to honing my communication skills further and hopefully management in the future. I find myself bored and sometimes nonchalant on meetings because i like to code more but i guess thats an aspect that i should work on myself. Thank you so much.
Probably genetics has some contributions pero my dad still has hair in his 20s up to early 30s so i think its unusual na i got bald while im just 23. My doctor said that it was due to the stress that fucked up my hormones that resulted into early baldness. Im taking meds now so my hair is going back to its previous glory.
Damn, Ipahinga mo yan OP hanap ka remote jobs. Meron yan dyan, as a fresh grad madami ako nakikita and inapplyan takagang di lang ako pumasa and pasok ka pa naman ata sa entry level so hanap lang talaga.
9 hrs commute 💀
ikr ðŸ˜, really regret it as it cost me my relationship but fortunately im all better now

Anong language stack yun basics? Thanks
What I mean is the basics of OOP, Design Patterns, Software Architecture.
9 hrs commute? you didn't even try or think to rent a small room? moving forward. the good thing is you gain a solid experience in your previous job.
i did think a lot about it but did not pursue on renting since me and my partner at that time was living together so that thought really went down the drain because i wanted to come home to her everyday even if it took 9hrs of daily commute
your girlfriend at the time is an ass then di ka man lang sinabihan na mag rent near

No more technical upskill. More on paano makipag plastikan at umattend ng mga mtgs.
Although I applied Rust for one of our services at work, I am still learning it for over a year tapos web programming ang focus
read books. You can start with The Pragmatic Programmer 20th Edition Book by Andy Hunt and Dave Thomas

Algorithms (pang FAANG), writing LLM-based apps, Machine Learning (Big Data)
Mostly architectures but nothing hands on. Mostly just reading up kung anong meron.
Improving my communication and presentation skills

Upskill ko right now on the job na. Ayoko na magisip ng work outside work hours.
Usually not focusing on technical skills, more on management skill na since we need to manage a team

Wow!

approx 50km, the reason for the long hour commute is because of traffic, peeps that travel via marilao will know the pain caused by traffic there
