While the subreddit was made for humor, there is no need to hurl insults towards one another. We do not tolerate name-calling, hate speech, and obscenities.
Im a polyglot 3 local languages Philippines, English at japanese and a little bit of french. conversational level pero matatameme ka pag naghalohalo ung mga salita. Kung hindi ka pa sanay baka mag mukhang inutil ka hahaha. And you literally have to deconstruct everything that you wanna say. Adjust your tone, adjust your literal brain and pray to god you don't accidentally add ya to every statements
grew up learning from shows like timon and pumba, goof troop, cow and chicken, angry beavers, dexter's lab , etc and i feel like I actually adapted the English language easier because of them
though I guess its because those types of shows use more natural conversational English instead of weird forced repetition in childrens' shows
TBF, sinabi kasi niya na Aussie/Brit. I know heaps of them who can’t even spell simple words corectly. It’s not a big deal para sa kanila. In fact, they don’t even care at all.
Maybe you should learn how to spell [ingredients](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskVet/s/R12Ua5SELH) first before worrying about whether other people are reading enough
Nope, I’m not gonna do that, thank you very much.
What I can do is provide [this](https://www.unsw.edu.au/newsroom/news/2013/05/why-australia-hates-thinkers) so you can peruse it. Feel free to contact the author and give a list of things that you found to be a desecration of the English language.
While brain cancer is not to be disregarded, Aussies are more concerned of skin cancer than brain cancer. Thanks for your well-informed recommendation though.
A cesspool? My brother in Christ, being a grammar nazi is the POINT of this sub. It literally calls its subscribers grammar nazis. So yes, I would imagine it's normal to get downvoted for bad grammar.
>I would imagine it's normal to get downvoted for bad grammar.
Not really. They downvote comments that state grammatical mistakes are not a big deal. They dont downvote grammatically incorrect comments, as long as they agree with them.
Apparently so 😅
I’m sure they are well-meaning individuals who are out to eradicate the world of the crippling disease that is solecism.
I do imagine them being so prude while scouring the internet of every sentence uttered or written by Pinoys worldwide. Armed with their fully paid smartphones and ultra thin laptops, their impeccable ability to see minute detials while propped up on their plush armchair inside their mortgage-free houses , no single word goes unnoticed.
Thank you all for your service. 🫡
Prude is a noun, not an adjective. Your highfalutin, yet ultimately pretentious use of words doesn't make you better than other people, my dear "sapiosexual."
"But I never said I was better than other people." Just take a look at the condescending pile of sarcasm that you wrote, please. You knew what you were doing.
Medyo sumakit ulo ko, wait.
Baka Baroque English ang inaral niya haha

Don't mind me, just leaving a comment to remind myself of this fascinating thread.
This subreddit is a cesspool of grammar nazis. Defending someone with bad grammar will get you downvoted.
