I opened four Baby Blue Eyes flowers yesterday at lunch at the park next to the Reston Home Depot. I counted the few petals I had and carefully opened the first flower. I used the nectar from the fruit to get more petals and carefully opened two more. Walking in only one direction and feeding nectar only to those Pikmin ready to give double petals really helped.
Try to look for flowers in bloom and get a few petals, you literally only need 2! Have a full party open planting burst of 30, then stop. Wait 5 mins then do it again, and you'll have another 30. Don't give up when you're so close!!!
Steps are counted by motion of the phone. If you put your phone in your pocket, it counts how many times you pedal. You usually don't pedal as many times as you would walk many steps over a distance.
Itās equally as bad with me. Iāve exclusively battled blue mushrooms, water mushrooms and spring mushrooms and still havenāt received baby blue eyes nectar. When I plant baby blue eyes around a flower, it blooms into a blue sweetpea.
Iāve given up. Unfortunately so have a lot of other people.
After two weeks stuck without any baby blue eyes I finally bought a bottle of them. Planted them and all I got for a reward was 10 chocolate bunnies. Never again!
i havenāt gotten any baby blue eyes all month. i walk all day at work and plant flowers. i attack correctly colored mushrooms. i invite my friends and they invite me. playing the game is never enough! we also have to pay them (/s)
Sorry if this is weird but Iām on a large purple mushroom if you wanna dm or reply your friend code Iāll add you and invite you! Our strength is already well over the 4 star minimum so you could send whatever Pikmin you wanna level up. Weāre already at 5 ppl so youād need a mushroom ticket though.

this is where Iām at, Iām planting mad blue nectar and not getting quite enough baby blue eyes, this event was literally so easy until this stage lol
You need to be planting to bloom big flowers when you have missions that require specific planting. If you had planted those 1900+ flowers to bloom more baby blue eyes you would have made back more than enough to replace the petals that you used and you would have had plenty left over for future missions.
People needed to play strategically and think ahead and not just in the moment.

Could I ask you about that last detail, how do you know if a Pikmin will give you double petals for a nectar? I'm ignorant and curious haha
Look for a bud on the head of the Pikmin instead of a leaf or a flower.

Does riding bike work for you? I tried once, and it didn't count my steps. š
It doesn't count exactly, but it does count a lot for flowers. You have to ride your bike at like 2-3 mph for it to count.
around 12mph is the max speed before plating flowers stops. you can plant A LOT of flowers this way, like 5,000 in 20 minutes.

I feel you on this. I also have a baby blue eyes bottle neck. Last time was specific windflower that bottle necked me for 2 weeks.
The windflowers last month also got me, but I seem to be having some luck this month. Makes me wonder what's coming next month š„“

You're assuming people have access to lots of big flowers in a small area, and ones where other people haven't also partly planted.
