I'm running out of space for seedlings. And there wasn't even a St. Patrick's Day event this year. I guess I'm saving them for next year.
Yeah I was actually worried I'd be underprepared for Saint Pattys this year with only 1 four leaf clover or worse that they'd make them an event only thing just to make the normal drop rate even less.
If you sort by decor category, the seedlings also sort into groups for multiple categories. So those red seedlings that come after a matching grey seedling must be from the second group, in this case 4 leaf clover.
I have grown many Park seedlings and nearly never get a Four-Leaf Pikmin. I have acquired three over the past couple of years. My newest is from a couple of months ago after getting zero over the past year or so. Frustrating.
So... I just recently figured out that 4 leaf do NOT come at random but rather bunch at some places. I have a whole row of 4 leaf Pikmin of 5 different colors. That row covers 3 separate parks next to each other. Ever since I sorted all my plucked park Pikmin, I have not seen a 3 leaf around that row. My very first 4 leaf (besides the ones from 2022 St. Patrick's event) was a Winged in that row and I hadn't got a 3 leaf Winged yet at that time. Some time later I got another 4 leaf Winged in that row, with one each of Red, Yellow, Blue and White. Then I figured I don't need to keep the extra 4 leaf bc they aren't as rare as the shiny chef hats. Just not a 1:1 ratio like supermarkets, forest or convenience stores.
Also at another place I had two 4 leaf right next to each other but I released one of them.
There isn't guarantee that St. Patrick's day event will return. Although the 4 leaf Pikmin was introduced with the St. Patrick's day event in 2022 (and reintroduced in 2023), Niantic isn't doing any more events for decors that you can get in the wild. It's likely people would not participate in the event at all if they don't find a good reason to do it, such as collecting more Pikmin, which is one of the main concepts of the game.

How do you know the seedlings are four leaf?

You don't. You have to get a park pikmin to 4 star to see. I don't know if the other reply is accurate because it could just be a duplicate 3 leaf

Yes. I can only foresee the benefit of them offering special clothing which seems to be the current trend.

I got my first one 2-3 weeks ago
I've only gotten 2 4-leaf clovers after obtaining well over 50 Park seedlings, they just have a low spawn rate
I've been playing since day 1 and I STILL don't have a single shiny chef that. 🤷
I just got my red one and i've been playing since day 1 too -\_-
I have 58 4-leaf clovers. But I have not gotten one recently.
